We thought we would try this place out, finally, tonight. It was 7pm and when I saw they closed at 8, I figured I would call out order in. It was 7:10 when we called after deciding on what we wanted – no answer. Tried again a few minutes later, still no answer. Figured maybe they were busy, but as it was 45min until closing and we live a few minutes away we decided to just drive and order there. Waited in line for a few minutes since the dining room looked shut down. Got to the window, guy asked if we called in an order. Told him no, we’d like to order now. He said that it was too late to order and I explained that I tried calling and no one answered. He said, «When it gets to that time of the night we stop taking orders.» I’m sorry, but your restaurant’s business hours are until 8pm. Maybe if you stop accepting orders or diners an HOUR before you close, this should be mentioned somewhere other than the window after driving and waiting in line. I’ll update this status if we ever decide to go back and actually try their food. Thankfully there was Honk Kong Buffet!(And it was crab legs night!)

My favorite Chinese/Thai restaurant in Lubbock! The staff is always so friendly, food is ALWAYS cooked to order, and it is amazing. Yes it is a small place, but I’ve never been upset with my food and they will deliver to my office which is on 120th. That’s a ++ in my book since they are on 34th, JJ’s won’t even deliver to my office.

Ordered delivery and it was pretty fast for how busy they were. Although, I honestly don’t know why they were so busy after getting my food. This is my first time ordering from them and definitely my last. It started out not so great and then it just continued to get worse. The veggie rolls, pork rolls and won tons are pretty crappy and to eat them you have to smother them in sweet and sour sauce, plus be extremely hungry. The Kung pau chicken tastes and looks like it came from a can honestly. I could have went to the dollar store and got canned veggies, the quality would’ve been equivalent. Ordered shrimp fried rice and got white rice with soy sauce mixed in and no shrimp. And now the kicker: their chicken chow mein is a complete joke, either that or they gave me something different and then lied about it. I got steamed cabbage, chicken, broccoli, and carrots smothered in a garlic sauce and grease, no noodles involved. If you give them a try and get an order like mine, keep in mind that their policy is no refunds, period.

I am not sure which Caucasian worker was Uncle Chien. They were pretty popular for take-out, and there was a delivery that left while we were there. Inside was empty. The food was OK, but everything was sweet. The menu only has individual plates, it is not family style. The items that were supposed to be spicy were not(although the yellow mustard quickly remedied that). The egg rolls were completely tasteless. The service was pretty good and we got our food fairly quickly and they did refill our drinks multiple times.

I don’t care where you are the food is fair at best. The bathroom which you must walk out side to get to is dirty and smells like a dirty diaper. Ok so the bathroom is filthy and had nothing to dry your hands with. What do you expect from a bunch of white guys trying to do Chinese food. Fried rice is not just soy sauce in rice. Please.

Nobody in the restaurant except me. Been here 25 minutes and haven’t gotten food yet. All I ordered was Mongolian beef and steamed rice… Come on now. They are fulfilling a huge to– go order that was called in 5 minutes after I arrived before giving me my food. Mongolian beef came out. SUPERSALTY. After finishing half of it, it has begun to taste like pizza haha! Wow this is different.

We got several things off the menu and none of it was that great. The sweet spur sauce tastes like it was diluted in water. The curry was not curry by any Thai means it tasted more like terrayaki. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Thai Thai off 50 th is so much better Or Choochai for thai food is where to go. Wont be going back.

I went here because I read about all the good reviews. Service and friendliness were FANTASTIC, food, not so much. I had hot and sour soup which was mediocre and had this weird sweet taste to it. I also had a full order of sesame chicken. Sesame chicken was not really that good. The fried rice isn’t really anything special, and the spring rolls were ok. The mixed veggies were really good, but that doesn’t take much talent. They possibly could have better dishes, but the one I got wasn’t. I ate it yesterday, when I think about it today I get nauseous.

This place is pretty good. After reading the other reviews, I’m fairly disappointed that the restaurant has only earned a 3.5÷5. Obviously we live in Lubbock, TX, not China or a predominantly Chinese area so the food is NOT«authentic». In my opinion, that’s just fine. I don’t expect«authentic» Chinese food here. The food is just fine, pretty good in fact, and is very reasonably priced. I had the cashew chicken and it was delicious. The owners are also very genuine and provide you with great customer service. They made it clear that they are very thankful for our business and even gave us free wonton chips when we offered to pay for them.

Food was amazing! Service was hospitable. Food came out fast and hot. No complaints what so ever. Recommend: Mongolian beef and cheese wontons.

Tonight I called 30 minutes before close and they were extremely busy. I ordered spicy chicken lo mein and a half order of generals. Both were scrum diddly umptious. The brochacho who delivered was was very polite, as they always are. I got a second knock about 5 minutes later and it was a different delivery driver who was bringing me egg rolls they had forgotten, 15 minutes after they closed. The crazy thing is, I dont even think they forgot to give me egg rolls… I already had some. Crazy huh… Thumb and a pinky for this place.

SKIPIT!!! Get Little Panda instead! I realize it is not a traditional sit down eating place but the Subpar service makes it even more unconventional. Canned mushrooms, flavorless food won ton soup, thin lo mein, sesame chicken that was meh. The only thing I did enjoy were the cheese own tons. I have had the pad Thai and I remembered it was good– but this meal cemented the fact that I will never ever be back!

First time trying the place out, it was pretty good in my taste. Really small when you first go in but had a cozy feel. Great service! Elderly man was pretty nice, went in with a group of friends even though they were going to close in an hour they were happy to have us there. Although low on supply when we ordered. Fast service that’s for sure. Got the won ton soup, now that i didn’t really enjoy, it was a dark color when most won tons I’ve had are a opaque yellow. But the lo mien was fulfilling. All in all, it was pretty decent for the buck. Cheap, big portions and good service! :)

–Food was great and flavorful. — Gave us a discount since they were out of wonton soup — Could see them cooking your meal — Friendly and didn’t kick us out when it got close to closing time — Prices are good for the amount of food. Overall a great hole in the wall place with good food and prices. Will definitely be coming back to this place instead of ginger express.

10x better than Ginger Express’s. Had the sesame chicken, which was fine. Gf had sweet and sour which tasted okay too. The egg rolls were unfortunate victims of oil saturation. Bottomline, there is no such thing as good chinese food. This place isn’t exactly good; it’s just that this place doesn’t entirely suck. Also, the owner was very friendly and fast service.

After reading quite a few good reviews about this place on Unilocal,my boyfriend and I were excited to try this place. Being from California, I’ve had my fair share of authentic(or as close as you can get aside from going to china) Chinese food, so my Expectations may have been a bit high. We called in an order for one full size Mongolian beef and one full size broccoli beef. Both came with a cup of fried rice and two spring rolls. The over all cost was 17 $, so with the good reviews and high price I expected high quality and decent quantity. The first sign of bad times was When we got home and opened the containers. There was hardly any food in each. For nearly 8 $ per box we figured they’d be pretty full. We were starving so we moved on. The rice comes in a separate container, thank goodness, because both dishes were swimming in sauce. Don’t get me wrong, I love sauce, but this was just waaayy too much. The Mongolian beef was pretty decent, though lacking in flavor. I hated my broccoli beef. It was sweet(I’ve never encountered sweet broccoli beef.) and had the smallest pieces of broccoli. Had me wondering why I paid so much for so little. The spring rolls were typical, the same kind you can buy at sams club or Costco and make yourself. The rice was such a big let down. I love fried rice, but this was literally just rice barely fried, If at all, with a little seasoning. Very disappointing. The only thing I can say that was good about the food was that the beef they used was good, not that fatty kind that some Chinese places use. I was sooo let down! as for the actual place it’s self, it’s very shabby and awkward. When I picked up our order, I was glad that we weren’t dining in! It was so humid in that place that walking outside into the Texas heat felt like an air conditioner! I felt sticky while inside. Also, the credit card machine they use apparently doesnt take gift cards. The owner was there but she wasn’t working, she was sitting in the front having a conversation at the top of her lungs! Maybe she’s just a naturally loud person but the whole time I was wishing she would just leave! And eventually she did. The man who rang me up was very nice and Thats all I can say I like about the actual restaurant. Overall: go somewhere else. Some place that serves quality food… And has AC!
