It’s been 2 years since I left a review for this bagel shop. I had to update on how amazing this place is. The workers go above and beyond to make my bagel experience a great one. I’ve been reading the negative comments people made about this place, and I have to say I have no clue what they’re talking about. I personally think that they don’t know much about good quality bagels cause this place got them! Lox bagel with extra onions and tomatoes… NEVER FAILS! Love this place.

These bagels piss me off, they should not even be considered bagels, since the texture and image does not consist with being an actual bagel. I would come here in high school and always be disappointed with the food they serve here, its just blah and generic, I do not know why people even like it here despite its only good for socializing.
I prefer Lynbrook bagels which serve real hand made bagels which actually are bagels and not oversized rolls. When I go there I am always happy, I know its a bit more expensive but it will make your stomach very happy.

This Wednesday morning I had to wake up early for work because I was asked to. Having to leave early I had to leave the house without breakfast. Getting to work my boss offered to get me something from this place (soon became to be a big mistake). All I wanted was a sausage, bacon, egg, and cheese. I was looking forward to this sandwich that I’ve had many times at other places with no problem. My coworker comes back with the food and I’m trying to figure out if this sandwich is really mine because there’s only bacon and egg on it… THEY FORGOT THE SAUSAGE AND CHEESE and also had the nerve to ask my coworker for the amount of money of a sausage, bacon, egg and cheese. This was my FIRST and LAST experience with union bagel thank you, for Letting me down.

Clean, fresh, friendly. That’s how I like the places I eat in or take out from. I always get veggie tuna on an everything bagel. Coffee is good even though I prefer to have the celestial seasoning tea. Bagels are the some of the best (their mini is as big as most places regular) and being that they are in Lynbrook and not the 5 towns they don’t charge astronomical prices.

A bagel must for me, every time I head out a long road trip I stop here and stock up on delicious car food!!! They have baby bagels and can make them any way you like. The place is always clean and the staff is very pleasant and helpful! PS the big cookies are amazing

Unimpressive bagel. Salt bagel had lIttle salt. Did not taste fresh. Staff were friendly but did not ask if we wanted ours toasted or not. Coffee was ok. No competition for place we visited in Astoria. Close to supermarket quality. Need to try harder for quality. Must be trying to satisfy the high school students next door.

These bagels are amazing… I’m speechless. With a crunchy outside and soft inside, these bagels can make my day any day. The little conversations I have with the employees are interesting. They constantly ask customers of ways to innovate their bagel café. This shows dedication and it shows through their bagels. One of them asked me if I would try kimchi cream cheese if they made it. I definitely would and would give them all credit as well. GO FOR IT UNION BAGEL CAFE! YOU ROCK!

They have really excellent bagels and I actually DO go out of my way to get bagels from them whenever I’m on Long Island. Their breakfast and lunch sandwiches are spot on, too. They have never had any issues with the new owners understanding my Engrish.

Pretty much the worst experience of my life. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese with homefries. The egg was microwaved, the cheese was too cheesey and packaged. I asked for the bacon extra crispy but it was extra floppy. The homefries were canned potatoes. Deff not going back.

Recently changed owners. The bagels seem to be the same… but there is often times a language barrier between the Asian lady and gentleman and the customer. They are however, very friendly and always smiling. Some of the other counter staff is the same as the previous owners. I come here primarily because it’s convenient… it is by no means, worth traveling to if it’s out of the way.
