The best Italian food in this area. They have food that my Grandma use to made when I was a child.

This place is incredible. Grew-up in downtown Brooklyn, so I know a good salumeria and this place is incredible! Busy, but the staff is always quick, super helpful and courteous. Even had a few deliveries lately and never disappointed.

The best Italian everything. They’re always polite and courteous. The quality of food and service is unparalleled. Anthony, the owner, does an amazing job and most importantly, he’s very humble. They’re the BEST!

Michael’s is a classic Italian deli with an inviting, upscale looking interior. Expect all of your cold antipasto favorites(salami, roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella, provolone, marinated mushrooms, artichoke hearts, etc), freshly made sandwiches on delicious Italian bread. dinner specialities that you can pop in the oven at home. It’s a very welcoming environment. One suggestion I’d make, I found their Easter pizzagaina to be too bland and needing flavor, maybe more Pecorino Romano, hope I’m not insulting a family recipe! Other than that, definitely check this place out, very good, fresh Italian takeout.

Delicious food. Even their healthy food is good. I like the fact that they offer whole wheat sandwich bread. Great customer service. Everyone that works there is always very attentive. A bit pricey, but isn’t every place in Bergen County? Definitely worth it.

I absolutely love Michael’s. It is my favorite Italian salumeria/eatery around. Everything that they make is perfect. There is always a great selection and a lot of love goes into each item that they make. One of my favorites is the bow tie pasta and arugula salad, I love that the pasta is al dente. There are piece of fresh mozzarella and olives. I also love the string bean and potato dish. That have cheese and pignoli nuts along with roasted garlic. They have lasagna, stuffed mushrooms, peppers, meatballs, marinara and meatballs, rigatoni with marinara, plenty of sandwiches the list goes on. The workers are always extremely friendly, they aim to please and will make you whatever you want that may not even be on the menu but if they have the items, they will make it for you. They food is always fresh and tasty and my only wish is that they were a little closer to me so I could go there more often. Love this place! It’s well worth the trip.

Delicious deli! Marinara sauce is delightful. Everything is cooked to perfection. You pay for what you eat, that is great food. From Arancini(rice balls) to eggplant parm, cold salads to subs. Try it you wont regret it.

Excellent Food! Super Lunch Idea!!! Try Breaded Chicken breast, sun dried tomatoes, fresh mozzerella cheese, with mayo and, balsamic, on a nice piece of seeded semolina bread. You will never buy any other sandwich in your life… ever. I retired and moved south, but Michaels Salumeria is one of the few places I will greatly miss. Great Food!

Michaels in an authentic Salumeria. Just thinking of their sandwiches and specials are making me hungry! My favorite sandwich is prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers with basil and lots of pesto. Of all the times I have ordered it they have always made it perfectly. Their sandwiches are generous, fresh and beautifully made. My other favorite it the cheese lasagna. I just don’t love meat Lasagna and and cheese lasagna is not easy to find. Michael’s always had this available in their case. It’s super cheesey and the sauce is sweet and full of flavor, I just love this. Along with all the sandwiches they always had a variety of delicious salads and Italian specialties in the case. I have gotten string bean salads, bow tie pasta and fruit salad all of which were delicious. Rice balls and peppers stuffed with cheese and sliced eggplant and zucchini. They also make their mozzarella fresh and offer it by the pound(or chunk) but make sure you ask for it salted. They also offer several hot options like chicken and shrimp and pasta prepared in different ways daily. I also noticed people picking out pre-packaged greens from another case and the servers adding different ingredients to top the salad. I have used Michael’s Salumeria catering menu several times when I have needed to bring a «dish» to a gathering. My favorite is their Caprese salad. The most delicious prosciutto, layered with roasted peppers, basil and fresh mozzarella on a bed of greens drizzled with a wonderful balsamic glaze. Heaven. I have also gotten their Italian Mac n Cheese which also was a hit. On top of the delicious food, the young servers are always super friendly and helpful and carefully prepare your order. The lines at lunch can get long but go pretty quickly and while there a couple of small tables outside there is no seating inside the store. I have rarely been able to pass Michael’s without running in and grabbing some goodies to go. Would love to do that right now!

Favorite Italian Deli — favorite deli period. A lot of delis skeeve me out because of the lack of freshness. Michael’s is the opposite. They are constantly bringing out fresh dishes. They have so many options to choose from and it is always so fresh. I feel like I basically live their for the amount of times I go there for lunch. You can get dishes of food, fresh salads — adding anything you would like to them, fresh sandwiches. Everyone is so, so friendly. This place gets packed a lot because of how yummy it is! Definitely a must try.

Great service + great food. Tried this place for the first time after my boyfriend kept raving about it. When you first walk in, you smell the aroma of all the food being prepared. That’s a great way to start. Then you start to eat with your eyes. Everything looked absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich with broccoli rabe, sun dried peppers, mozzarella, with balsamic and oil. You can taste all the fresh ingredients in this sandwich with each bite. Not only was I impressed by the quality of the food but I noticed how great their customer service was. They were pretty busy but that didn’t keep the staff from being attentive and friendly throughout each transaction. Definitely going back to try other items on their menu.

Surprised at all the great reviews! Small Italian deli nothing outstanding. Not so much to choose from at all. Maybe should have had a sandwich. A little overpriced in my opinion. Sausage and peppers — greasy and nothing out of the ordinary. 2 Stuffed mushrooms — these were tasty Michaels’s cheese tortelini — way too salty and bland. All this for $ 16. Less than average in my opinion!

I didn’t have that great of an experience as everyone else. Ordered the prosciutto sandwich from the menu for pickup on a Saturday. It literally only had prosciutto and mozzarella with nothing else, no tomato, no greens, nothing. I guess I needed to explicitly say what I wanted in the sandwich. It’s prob best to order while there to watch what goes in the sandwich. Also the bread was so hard it hurt my jaw. I must say that the prosciutto, mozzarella and the balsamic vinaigrette were good quality ingredients. So it’s got that going for itself. However, I did pay $ 8.25 which I find a bit pricey. I was able to «fix» the sandwich at home by lightly toasting the bread and added my own tomato and fresh basil. It tasted great after that, thanks to me. Not the best first impression and bc of that it’s hard to say I will return.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. Always loved Michael’s. The quality is superb, the staff is quick and friendly, and the food is excellent Italian deli food! My only qualm is I wish they would’ve put a little more fresh mozzarella on the sandwich I ordered. I’ve been pampered by some Hoboken delis that are not shy on the mozz. But still worth the 4 stars Highly recommend an Italian sandwich like salami or soppresatta with mozz and roasted red peppers. So good! Sandwiches are around $ 7.50 which isn’t expensice for this type of place at all. Some of the things you order by the pound add up easily and it can get expensive, but that’s pretty standard at nice delis. Stuffed roasted red peppers are a homerun too! A salami/mozzarella/roasted red pepper platter is great for parties! Go to Michael’s; you won’t regret it! :)

First off this place is SUPER clean. Everything is neatly placed around the shop. They sell a lot of fun Italian specialty items and now that it’s nearing Easter it’s extra fun with big foiled chocolate eggs hanging around. The line can get long at lunch time, which sucks, but I find it worth the wait. The staff is friendly, young and even attractive. You can order a salad and toss it with whatever you want from the display case. I had an amazing combination of grilled chicken, sauteed long hot peppers, roasted red peppers and this tomato/bean/avocado salad blend. I only added a tiny amount of balsamic. The salads are SUPER fresh. I also tasted the beet and goat cheese salad… delicious! I’m falling in love with this place. I have to try their sandwiches one day soon.
