I have never been so disappointed in an Italian hero as I am now… I chose to go to a pizzeria for an Italian hero because they generally put some meat into it and have good bread… this hero. literally I might as well have gone to Subway because its one slice of ham and one slice of Salami… the rest is just filler… ton of lettuce and tomatoes so the sandwich looks thicker. The bread was awful too… Seriously If you’re gonna be an Italian pizzeria. know how to make a good Italian hero. My office orders from here quite often, I’ll make sure that we don’t do that anymore.

Every Friday I treat my kids to a take out dinner. My daughters pick is usually Mr. Bruno’s square slice, she always gets two. This Friday my husband went to pick up our daughter pizza from Mr. Bruno’s. Order it, paid for it, waited for it. The owner comes out from the back talks to the workers takes out the pizza puts it in a bag. Leaves it on the counter. My husband asked is that mine? After waiting awhile. He was told no we are closed. The pizza isn’t for him the owner stated it’s mine. Apparently the worker tells my husband he can’t give him the slice because the owner is offended. My husband works at a barber shop and the owner of Me. Bruno’s came into the barber shop after hours as my husband was finishing his last client. My husband told him I’m sorry we are closed. I can take you tomorrow. The owner walks out saying ok. Now, he is being denied a slice because the owner feels offended! Offended that the shop was closed and he couldn’t be squeezed in. I went into the pizzeria now with my daughter because they know who I am they see me every week. They didn’t help me, the girl working the counter even denied that my husband paid for the slice. They wouldn’t give me back the $ 2.50. Smh my daughter who is 8, didn’t understand and I honestly still don’t. Business is business. When a store has certain hours is because it’s a business nothing to be taken personal. Mr. Bruno’s took it personal. I was a loyal, weekly customer, my family and I didn’t deserve to be treated this way. I’m sorry, for everyone looking for a great pizza there is better in the town of Lyndhurst for a more affordable price, and better hearted people who deserve more credit for there pizza and customer service. I hope this helps.

I love Mr Bruno’s! Great for takeout and a cute restaurant if you want eat out. So many things are delicious here! Some of my favorites include: meatball parm sandwich, eggplant parm sandwich, calamari marinara, and the shrimp fra diavolo. They make a personal pan pizza that is actually enough for two people and their full size pizzas are delicious. When u do takeout for their dinners, the prices seem steep but the amount of food you get is unreal. I’ve eaten off of one dinner for 3 days. The delivery is usually pretty quick and they are always friendly. Oh and if you go to the restaurant to eat… Make sure you order the sangria!

The wrap I got from here was worse than any wrap I’ve ever had anywhere. I make better wraps at home no contest. When I went to take it out of the box it was in, it started to fall apart. It wasn’t really wrapped at all. it was awful. I’ve also ordered an italian cold sub from here previously and that was the worst I’ve had. They go completely skimp on the meat. They go small on everything except prices. I do have pictures I took of the wrap but I feel like it isn’t necessary to post it. All of their appetizer portions are real small compared to other places. You spend $ 12 on an appetizer or salad and they give you this small little portion. Check JoJo’s or Villa Italia for great Lyndhurst pizza places. Avoid this place. If you’re really in the mood for sicilian, I recommend driving over to Kearny and get pickup from Peter’s Pizza. You get twice as much with their sicilian pie and it’s much much better. I won’t be back to this place and I do not recommend it.

Innocuous in appearance, situated at the end of a strip mall, this is a go-to place for me when I’m in the area. It’s not gourmet style Italian, but it’s good, very plentiful, and the prices are reasonable. The left side of the establishment is an old-style pizzeria; the right side is a more conventional restaurant-with-bar. Service is friendly and efficient.

I came to Lyndhurst for sprinklers. Yes, I said sprinklers and will leave it at that. After our sprinkler excursion, we we were in need of nourishment. Our options were limited so we settled on Mr. Bruno’s. Pizza and kids go so well together. They have a take-out section and the nicer restaurant section. We decided to sit and enjoy our meal in the restaurant. We ordered a large pepperoni pie. It came out hot and fresh and totally delicious. We also got the wings. I think every pizza place in Joisey gets their wings from the same vendor. They taste exactly the same at every pizza joint I’ve been too. Needless to say, they were fine. We really came for the pizza and were not disappointed. Surprisingly, this place carried alcohol, but a little overpriced in my opinion. I had a spiked root beer drink that was really good. I wish I could remember the name. Overall great food and excellent service. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. What more can one ask for?

Great place to grab a slice. Everything on the menu is amazing. Only problem I have is that they are a little pricey.

The reviews are correct– this IS a great place for a Sicilian pie. Its a unique pizza experience and def recommend trying it at least once. But for my fiancé and I, the prices are very high for a pizza and there is so much food, we rarely come close to finishing the pie so, yes, although the pie is good, to us, its not worth the $ 30.

Overall, I find this place extremely overrated. I usually cannot believe how crowded it can get on the weekends. The biggest draw here is its Sicilian square pizza. Honestly, the sauce just does not taste too great. I actually see that they sell their sauce separately. Call me crazy, but I find it a step or two above Ragu or other store bought sauces honestly. If you are looking for a good Sicilian pie, you MUST go to the Bruno’s in Clifton, NJ on Route 46. It is about 10 – 15 minutes from this restaurant and that square pie absolutely rips this pie a new one.(And there is a reason it is ranked in the top 25NJ best pizzas). I have tried the round pie, and honestly I am not a fan. Too much of a cheese overload, and I don’t find the cheese too great to be honest. They do have a whole wheat option, which is actually pretty good whole-wheat dough. I have also tried the entrees, and the Chicken parm is huge and pretty terrible. The chicken was anything but tender and was rubbery, almost like it was overheated after coming out of a freezer. Yuck. Talk about quantity over quality. The only thing I get here when I go is a large house salad with the dressing on the side. The salad is pretty impressive in both size and the different kinds of greens and such. Be prepared to spend $ 20+ for a specialty pie, which is kind of insane. Villa Italia in Lyndhurst has much better specialty pies with much fresher toppings, and is cheaper. Overall, this place is kind of overpriced, and I would never go here if it weren’t for the salad.

Best sauce in Bergen County but prices are increasing as rapidly as the decline in service. Staff is slow and often unresponsive with one notable exception. Sometimes the food doesn’t taste fresh. Disappointing; the expansion of the restaurant in recent years had an impact on the quality of the food and wait staff.

Something has changed. Maybe the sauce. With so many other great options we no longer order from Bruno’s, and they used to be our #1.

Try the Sicilian pizza… it is really good. Mr Bruno’s is always busy and that is a good thing. Food is always freshly prepared. I haven’t had a bad dish here. Sandwiches, salads and main dishes are all very good. This is one of our standby places to eat when we don’t know where to go.

Too expensive. Not worth $ 30 for ONEPIZZA. Don’t order delivery. If you want their pizza, I’d go there and get it to go. It’s like $ 2.50/slice. And the quality is no where near other places in Lyndhurst. They do have a nice place to sit for dinner, and a bar. The atmosphere is nice. Also, the entrees are good and also over priced.

Classic Sicilian pie and sauce that is the bee knees! I have been coming to Mr. Bruno’s with my family ever since I could remember. Loved them when I was a kid and still love them! Never once in my life have I thought this place has gone downhill. If anything this place has gotten better. I remember when this place was smaller back in the day. After several renovations, the place has gotten bigger dinning area and bar. It also moved the location as the whole strip mall area was renovated. Regular pies and entrees are good as well. Haven’t delved into the specialty pies but I have a feeling they are awesome! I should also note they have a bar. It may be B.Y.O.B. as well but not 100% sure on that. There is a new Bruno’s location that opened up on route 17 in East Rutherford and it is B.Y.O.B. So if you want to get your drink and your slice on, do it up at that location! Not a bad thing to say about this place. Been coming here for years and will be back again!

I have only ordered from Mr. Bruno’s for delivery(Square pie). The driver was friendly. The time of delivery wasn’t bad at all. The pizza on arrival remained hot and smelled delicious. I would say, 1 square pie could easily satifying 3 people’s craving. The sauce is delicious and taste extremely homemade and fresh. I would definitely order from Mr Bruno’s again, and would go in person to check in at Mr Bruno’s. Tip: when you can’t decide what to order, go with the basics. A plain Scilian pie. =)

So far my favorite pizzaria in Lyndhurst, NJ. They have a huge variety of pizza and dishes. Interesting choices like chicken francaise pizza. And white tomato garlic, so good. Their rice balls are delish. Friendly staff. great for take out or a nice sit in dinner.

Some of the best pizza in the Bergen Country area. Their Sicilian is to die for! My family and I order this pizza on special occasions because it is that good. I have only had their Sicilian and anti-pasta(I am a creature of habit) but when it is this good, I wouldn’t change! Their prices are on par for AMAZING pizza and they deliver, which is always and added bonus!

The first time I went, I ordered a pizza pie to go… waited about 20 minutes and then the pie was ready. It was not good or at least not what I expected. It was cold, the cheese didn’t pull and where was the dripping oil? …pizza was meh. Will not be ordering again. This place is right in my neighborhood, has good reviews on Unilocal and is always busy, so I figured I should give it a second chance. The second time, I got an italian hot dog. It smelled good, so things were looking up. But when I opened the foil, all I saw was burnt peppers and tasted overly cooked fries. I was hungry so I ate half and the rest I threw out. But if you knew me, you would know that I do not throw food away unless it’s gross. The only thing they got right about this sandwich is the bread. I don’t think it’s me being too picky, but I just know good food. Being that this place is right in the neighborhood and has been for years, is probably why people are so loyal. Otherwise, I can’t figure it out. I will not be going back!
