Came in here after hearing that Lynnwood has a lot of great Korean places. So, Unilocal showed me this place. Came in here and saw that there were already a few customers. There was only ONE server here though! She was running around after seating me and my fiancé. She was quite busy, but I gotta give it to her because she was pretty damn awesome being the only server with so many tables! She served us drinks, ban chan, took our orders, refilled our tea cups, and had a big smile the whole time! She literally was running around, poor thing! We orders teh combo tofu soup and an order of the bulgogi. Both was served with their purple rice. The purple rice was a nice surprise! I always love trying new and healthy white rice substitutes! The bulgogi was good. The tofu soup was mediocre, I have had better in LA and OC. But it’s hard to compete with LA and OC for most foods bc one can get that pretty good there. But this place was not bad at all. I would return if I found myself in Lynnwood again!

I have lived near Tofu House for two years, only now stopping to try it out based on other Unilocal reviews. It’s everything they say! It’s also a Christian Establishment, for what that’s worth. The cleanliness, quality of the food and price point are all excellent! It is hard to add anything to what others have said. I will add a picture, but it is just like many shown, all good. We will be back many times, so glad to have found a Korean restaurant close to home!

Came here a week ago and I must say this is a very solid place to get korean food. The overall food here was tasty and everyone I came with enjoyed what they got. We left leaving here full and content after a long day. There was a nice atmosphere and it was not very loud in here so I could hear everyone talking without having to yell. Service:(4⁄5) It did take a while to wait for our table as there was only 1 or 2 waitresses who were cleaning up the tables. But overall they were nice and gave us our second set of side dishes pretty fast. Variety:(5⁄5) The menu was a great size and it didn’t have too many things to confuse us or too little to choose from. Side dishes: fresh kimchi, eggplant, fishcake, candied potato, cooked zuchinni, cucumber kimchi etc. Taste: 4⁄5 All side dishes were well made like I said fresh and seasoned just right. I ordered the vegetable tofu stew and it was nice and spicy but it lacked a little something. I felt like I was just drinking spicy soup without much flavor most likely because its hard to create a good flavor profile with just vegetables in soup. My friends however really liked the meat dishes they got, so I would recommend getting the meat dishes.

Good quality place for afternoon lunch. Probably one of the cheaper places but you get good food. During lunch, they have a lunch special which is delicious and this is one of my fav places banchon wise. Their stir fry meat is cheap and good, marinated really well. I prefer when they make it spicy(so ask them to make it spicy if you like spicy). The combo soondubu and stir fry meat is only 13.95, not bad for a gigantic lunch. However, they only serve the red bean(purple rice) here which some people dont really like. Overall, this place is good

Friendly service, decent food but wouldn’t come back. Food: kimchi soft tofu soup was bland, there was no fresh egg provided, and boring because they forgot to include kimchi –_– so it basically was a bowl of bland tofu broth. Galbi short ribs came out expected, but it didn’t come out sizzling hot especially being on a sizzling plate. It was okay. Bulgolgi bibimbap is confusing, I thought it was bibimbap but it was actually a soup, so that was a huge disappointment. The soup was ridiculously sweet, barely any noodles and vegetables, and 5 pieces of meat. For $ 11, it was a huge rip off because they skimp on the ingredients. Ban chan wasn’t good, some lacked flavor, some were dry and they didn’t even have japchae. Seafood and onion pancake was good, crispy not too oily and appetizing. Large portion, almost a size of a small pizza. It was good, but I wouldn’t get it again cause it was too doughy and thick. Service: really friendly waiter, would check on the table a good amount of times and refilled our waters when needed. Overall, it was adventurous to try because it’s a new restaurant but I wouldn’t come back because the food quality wasn’t good compared to what the Unilocal reviews said and so I expected better.

This time I ordered some hot pot with dumplings and it was less good than what I got last time. The flavors just did not add up to anything, I could just taste random disparate flavors covered in salt. The small plates were amazing, though. Many were different than what I got before and they were also delicious.

Came here on a Friday around 6:00pm — it wasn’t too busy. This restaurant seems like a somewhat of a standard korean place. Food here was nothing outstanding, but was pretty good. I rated this place four stars because of the variety of banchan that you get, as shown in the pictures posted. Their radish kimchi and cucumber kimchi was my favorite out of the 8 side dishes. My husband loved their eggplant and spinich. Server was also very happy to refill the banchan for us. If you’re in the mood for affordable korean food, then this is the place for you.

I am going to ask the owners to adopt me. I know. I’m a grown-a** woman but sometimes you feel a strong kinship with people. This is your usual strip mall restaurant style-wise, and this place now ties for me on Korean food with Stars in the Sky(and I should be fair, at SIS, I’m only all about the Korean Fried Chicken.) Tofu House has a terrific range of Korean food represented. So if your only experience has been ordering bibimbap at your local teriyaki joint, then you should get here. Since I’m not a red meat eater, I LOVED that they could make Japchae without any in it.(Most times, you’ll see it with beef.) It’s one of my favorite comfort foods with its clear, chewy sweet potato noodles and thinly sliced veggies — with a taste that the word umami was made for. And what the banchan? Really? 9 dishes? Where do you store all of it? I’m only telling you this because I know there’s enough for all of us: THISISTHEBESTKOREANPANCAKEINTHEWORLD. It’s crispy, airy, and full of seafood with great texture and flavor. If somebody knows of a better one, let me know and I’ll bonk you on the forehead and tell you you’re wrong. I had the fish roe stew and it was a little too fishy for me, but roe prepared this way just… is. I’d try something else if I were you unless you know you like boiled roe sacs.(That just sounds wrong.) But everything else was amazing, good bibimbap, octopus… you’ve hit gold here. OH! And they’re opening a restaurant in BELLTOWN next month! I can walk over there and easily get my fix! Sigh. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving at my new parents’ house.

Love Korean food. The sides were excellent and I got the hot pot soup. IT was HOT! The tofu was excellent and I loved the Bulgogi. I thought it was reasonable priced. Like the purple rice.

I would never, ever, ever have found this place(or even known it was there) if not for Unilocal! We were looking for someplace convenient to eat that was near the Lynnwood Goodwill and this place fit the bill. I couldn’t resist the lure of all those banchan… Be prepared for an underwhelming exterior — even if I had ventured into this strip mall, I wouldn’t have looked twice at this restaurant based on its sign and tinted windows. Inside, though, it’s light and spacious, with high padded booths that give you privacy. It was pretty empty at around 6:30 on a Sunday evening, so we walked right in and sat down, although it began filling up soon afterward. I love smelly, oily mackerel, so when I saw it on the menu, I had to try it. There are two preparations and I got the cheaper one($ 11). What comes on the plate is just a big ol’ fish — it’s a HUGE portion and definitely shareable. The fish was simply prepared, without much sauce, but rich and flavorful. My boyfriend got the short ribs, which I think are the most expensive menu item($ 16) but worth the price. The meat was tender, juicy, and delicious. They serve beer but no wine, FYI. It seemed like they were short-staffed when we were there, because service was pretty slow and it was impossible to catch our server’s eye to ask for anything. Nor did she come back to refill water or check on us after the food was served. Tables who had sat down after us had finished eating, paid and left before we were able to get our check. So the booth all the way at the back of the restaurant, closest to the restrooms, is kind of a dead spot and I don’t recommend sitting there if you have a choice. The food was really good and prices were reasonable, so we’re hoping they just had a bad night and service is normally better. I plan to go back and try them again next time the ban chan cravings become unstoppable!

Great food and the waiter, ajusshi, was super friendly and was cracking jokes with us. You can’t go wrong with anything on the lunch menu but the down side is they give you very little meat for what u order. The bibimpap here is so far the best one I have tried and the soups here are amazing. You can actually taste the bone flavor in the soup!

Taste wise — 4.5 stars. The amount of MSG detected in the flavor = rounding down half a star. It’s delicious though lol. I love the taste of MSG and trust me all Korean restaurants use some form of it. Even the ones that say they don’t «add MSG». My wife and I ordered Gob Chang Jun Gol, which is kind of like a spicy soup hot pot but with beef intestines, veggies, herbs, etc. While it’s hard to make this dish bad, it’s also difficult to make it really good. I thought this place pretty much nailed it. Just wish they cut down on the chemicals! They accept all major credit cards. Service was great and the restaurant was clean and spacious. I think we saw a Korean movie actress when we visited.

Cant remember why I was in Lynnwood… but we were close to this place so we decided to give it a go. Strip mall location and we arrived for a late lunch/early dinner. Wasnt busy at all and were seated immediately. Very family type of place, the young lady was super nice and was quick to get our drinks and take our order. They have large booths to sit in with high backs on em, so it is quite private feeling. I dont eat a lot of Korean food but we just got what looked good to us. It was a little tough getting distracted by the Korean game show on tv. –The meal comes with all the little banchan dishes, I think 10 of them. We started off with a Grilled Mackerel: this was my favorite on the table, nicely charred and grilled flavor especially the burnt ends of the fish. Pretty good size to share and there was plenty to go around. It does have bones so you will have to pick those out. Its pretty simply cooked with possibly just salt & pepper, and a light marinade. We also got the Seafood Pancake: OHMY… when she brought this out, it looked like a pizza. They didnt have the regular scallion pancake available for some reason. Best way to explain it… to me, its kind of like a seafood funnel cake. The whole thing is fried with seafood mixed in the batter. It wasnt bad, but I probably wouldnt get it again. I like fried foods just like anyone else, but this was a bit too fried for me. I could only have a small slice and we didnt even finish it. Bi Bim Bap: pretty standard one, nothing really special about it, it was pretty good, especially with a fried egg on top. Beef was flavorful and all the veg and such in the bowl were quite tasty. They didnt serve it in a hot stone bowl like I had before at a few other places. Seafood tofu soup: Super bubbling, boiling hot, when brought out to you. They will ask if you would like to have them crack a raw egg into the soup. We gladly obliged and it was quite delicious. A good amount of seafood, hot & spicy, perfect for a rainy kind of day soup that causes a bead of sweat on your forehead. I have no clue why we ordered so much, geez! Overall, we enjoyed our meal, mom & pop style of restaurant, may come back if ever in the area again. Pricing was fine and service was fine too.

The banchan was excellent. Especially good was the potatoes and the three kinds of kimchee. We had the lunch special Soondobu. What a deal for $ 6.99, and it was very tasty. Then came the Haemul Pajun, the seafood pancake. It was so, so, so good. It was the best ever! Not only the bottom was crisp, the top too was browned and crisp. Not greasy at all, we just loved it. This is my new favorite Korean restaurant.

Best thing here, seafood pancake! I’ve never had such a crunchy, thick, and tasty one before, nor would I order it myself. Very very good :) Also got fermented soybean soup(doenjang jjigae) and fried mackerel. No complaints, delicious. So many side dishes, all very tasty too. Only down is my brother got chicken bulgogi, which has good flavor, but pretty much just breast meat. It’s his bad. I’m sure the regular beef bulgogi would be more delicious :)

Dumpling Tofu Soup(~$ 11.50 after tax/tip) — 4⁄5. Haven’t had a dumpling style tofu soup, so thought it’d be something new to try. Turns out, it was a great decision! Three good sized beef/chives dumplings and some strips of beef came in my tofu soup. Very flavorful and came out spicier, but not overpowering. I probably would have asked for it to be one step lower just to get more of the beef flavor, but that’s a personal preference. Also, lots of banchan! Would definitely return. I’ve been here once for the lunch special and for $ 7 that’s a steal! For what it’s worth, they gladly split checks no matter how many cards/people :]

I came here with my family on New Year’s day(yes they were open!) for lunch, and all of us enjoyed it very much. Their seafood pancake was the best I’ve ever had. I’m not kidding! The exterior was actually crunchy and not greasy, which was totally amazing and unexpected. We also ordered kam ja tang(potato stew), kalbi, and some spicy tofu soup. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. They gave us a variety of banchan(side dishes) that could barely fit on the table with all the additional food that we ordered. The kimchi tasted very fresh, and they quickly refilled any side dishes that we requested. Service was surprisingly attentive. The owner was very friendly and checked up on us regularly, making sure everything was ok. Normally, we would never get this kind of service at a Korean restaurant, so we were pleasantly surprised and happy for the extra attention. Even though this place has only been open for several months, I am excited to come back and try their delicious food again when I’m in Lynnwood!

Our new GOTO Korean place! They took over our long standing fav, so we had to see what they were all about. Very happy to say they are very solid! You get about 12 different side dishes, aka, ban chan, usually changes with the season. Had a nice mix of freshly spiced up peppers to kimchi this and that. One of our favs with fried mackerel, a very nice sized portion, and very tasty. Have to remember to get pictures during the next visit. Have to laugh, we haven’t tried the soft tofu soup yet, it’s been too hot for that! Something to also note, they serve purple rice, but not in the stoneware pots, so it doesn’t get all crispy on the bottom. Very glad to have tried them out, 3 times now, service is top notch and friendly! Grams asked about a veggie they served, the server didn’t know the English name so he looked it up on his smartphone to show us a picture! Now if only they served fried chicken…
