Ordered the vege sub. It was delicious, a good size, and good price. I am vegetarian and vegetarian options are harder to find on the Island.

Loved this place. Ate here several times while on the island! Pizza and service was great! :)

Absolutely the best breadsticks I’ve ever had — and the pizza(by the slice or whole) was really good too! We will go back on our next trip

Had a very bad experience here during my first visit to Mackinac with the family in August. My husband and 2 boys and I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza, chicken sandwich and lasagna. The sandwich and lasagna came out first. My son is very picky eater and only wanted pizza which is what brought us to this place. Our pizza slice didn’t arrive until 45 minutes after we ordered! This is NOT an exaggeration. We were very polite and patient during which time we kept asking the people working there what was taking so long… at least on 4 – 5 occasions. They kept telling me it will come out soon. While waiting, at least 4 families came in and out after us and got whole pies served to them.(I want to point out again, we were waiting for 1 slice of pepperoni pizza in a pizza establishment that serves pizza by the slice)! I wanted to cancel the order but at this point in time, my son was hungry and there was no other place to eat. Worse part? The staff, and a woman working there which I assume was the manager was very unapologetic. On top of that, the pizza lasagna was subpar at best and very salty. The sandwich wasn’t bad but I would never go back.

Really nice spot to grab some good pizza on the island. Pretty good lunch special of a slice breadstick and soda for $ 7.

I would never go back here. I ordered a green tea which I found out was unavailable. By the time they had any, I was done eating. Rather than be understanding, the manager decided she wanted to argue with me. Not worth my time, the food wasn’t worth the unpleasant attitudes.

Their pizza is awesome! I only ordered it by the slice(pepperoni), but it was so delicious i went back for 2 more pieces. The slices are much larger than most places too. And the bread sticks are simply«the best» i have ever had. I got more of those also. I can’t wait to go back to Island Slice in October!

Traveled all over the world. This restaurant is in top five for quality. Then as I was leaving the bus boy noticed cash had fallen from my pocket and brought it to me. What an outstanding staff and food.

There is nothing that lures you off the main strip like that fragrance of fresh pizza. We stopped by for lunch, quick stop in the downtown. Even though it was the height of tourist season, we were able to get a table quickly, as tables tended to turn quickly. They sell pizza by the slice, which is convenient and fast. The interior is as quaint as the town, real old-time pizzeria feel. Very comfortable and fun with the Mackinac Island video looping on the wall. Would have wanted to give a higher rating, but the pizza was solidly middle of the road, not terrible, but didn’t make it to any top list of pizza. That daïs, would definitely come back as a quick and convenient lunch place right in the center of action in Mackinac.

Pizza is good while the pasta is not. Pizza is priced higher here just like everything else on this island.

Clean fast tasty and priced fair. Ordered pepperoni pizza for four of us and it was delicious, hot, and served cheerfully to our table during a busy lunch time crowd. The line was about 5 deep to order but pizza delivered within 15 – 20 minutes of walking through the door.

In fairness I was schwasted when we came here for some late night pizza after a night of bar hopping on Mackinac Island but boy in the morning I remembered this as pretty tasty pizza. I think the place was clean too(an accomplishment at 2AM). Honestly, they are open late and serve pizza by the slice — what else do you need to know. Yummy late night drunk food.

Okay I don’t get all of the awesome reviews for this place. It’s average pizza and mediocre breadsticks. We went in for a quick lunch and our order was taken by an indifferent employee. We got two cheese combos($ 5 for pizza, breadstick, bottled water/soda) She took the slice out of the heater, took the breadsticks out, and that was that. I got my bottle of water and we sat down. The pizza was incredibly average – noting to make it stand out, but nothing to make me want to throw it away. The breadstick sort of tasted like nothing. I’d probably skip this one next time and try something else on the Island.

Pizza is good but their prices are on the higher side. The best part is that they are right across the road from pink pony bar and they are open until 3 am. Enjoy a few drinks at pink pony and grab a slice of pizza before you head back to your hotel.

A good, easy stop on the island, when some stops are not. The pizza and sandwiches are quite good. The salad we had was serviceable, but nothing unique. I won’t even say it was good, but it wasn’t bad, so I guess that counts. The hoagies are quite good. Toasted bread and the chipotle mayo on the southwest chicken was good heat and makes the sandwich a bit more unique. A quick, easy lunch.

The pizza is OK, but the Club Sub is to-die-for. I’m not much of a pizza parlor fan, but this place had me coming back a 2nd time in one weekend because of the deliciousness of that sub.

Wow. Just wow. We were on the island over the weekend and we stopped in, tired, grumpy, hungry. After a little deliberation, we decided on the ultra-thin-wheat-crust veggie. We sat for a little, but the wait was SO worth it. The waiter came out bearing what is possibly one of the most beautiful pizzas I’ve ever seen. It was topped with fresh mozzarella, pesto, sundried tomatoes, olives which I can’t remember the exact name of presently, spinach and all sorts of other stupendous things. It was so good we came back the second day for another whole pizza. The atmosphere is nice, with soft music, and occasionally the TV playing a DVD about Mackinac Island or Food Network. The waiters are all Italian, which helps the mood. And, it was an altogether delightful experience. Makes me wish we had one in my hometown. Go here. Go here now. Now!

For the price of the pizza(especially considering the size and quality) — this rating is almost three stars. However, as the main(and perhaps only) pizzeria on Mackinac Island and considering what may be a surcharge for getting ingredients on the Island, I stuck with the four stars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In any case, for a nice easy dinner, the GF’s family and I decided to get a slew of items to bring back across the street to our suite at the Chippewa Hotel. The pizzeria itself is spacious and open until late at night. You’ll often find a lot of the college students who work on the Island here, hanging out at night. Large Antipasto Salad($ 11) Romaine, iceberg, Genoa salami, pepperoni, ham, fresh mozzarella, provolone, sundried tomatoes, pepperoncini, Kalamata olives, carrots, onions, chick peas, red wine vinaigrette The GF was in the mood for salad, so she went with the antipasto salad. It was littered with a galley of ingredients which provided a nice variety. However, the actual quantity of lettuce was lacking. Garlic Parmesan Breadsticks($ 4.95) The garlic Parmesan breadsticks were decent. Parmesan was nicely sprinkled and provided a salty element to the breadsticks. However, the actual breadstick was a bit doughy for my taste. Spaghetti and Meatballs($ 12) The spaghetti was just a tad over al dente but the meatballs were well-seasoned and juicy. The marinara seemed pretty perfunctory but completely covered everything. The dish was also accompanied by a Parmesan bread stick. Large Pizza($ 18; $ 2 for additional toppings) 14″ pizza, pepperoni, ham, green olives And of course, we had to get a pizza. For such a small pie, the price was a bit ridiculous. Perhaps it’s the surcharge for getting ingredients onto the island? The large pie was 14″ — in NY and Philly — we roll with large pies that are typically 16″ to 18″. In any case, the pie itself was nicely buttery and perfectly greasy. The ham, pepperoni, and green olives provided an additional salty component to the pizza. Perfectly cheesy as well. Overall, Island Slice Pizzeria will satisfy your pizza and late night cravings. However, the size of the pizza pies and the prices are a bit lacking. They do offer wheat thin crusts and deep dish Detroit squares which I adore(similar to Jet’s Pizza I assume). They also offer free delivery on the Island! I wouldn’t hesitate to get pizza from here if I was back on the Island.
