Duncan Edward European Hair Design

I was in Madison for Epic training and had a couple of extra hours. Desperate for a hair cut, I Unilocaled salons and this place seemed decent. I called and was able to get an appt for an hour later, and the receptionist was super sweet and helpful. TK did my hair and I’m just going to need for him to move to Atlanta. He really spent time looking at my hair and deciding the best approach to accomplish what I wanted. The best haircut that I have had in I can’t remember how long! He was super kind, funny and easy to chat with — not to mention adorable. I’ll be planning my haircuts around future trips to Madison for sure!!!

I decided on Duncan Edward based on all the great reviews and Katelin didn’t disappoint! She was super knowledgeable, funny and explained exactly what she was doing and what would look good on me. I would certainly recommend her and am planning on going back!

I have been looking for a salon since I arrived. After a couple disappointments, I am glad that I found this place. Tk cut my hair and did a good job explaining what I needed in order to style my hair the way I wanted. I really liked my cut and everyone at the salon was kind and professional.

I went to Duncan Edwards based on all these awesome Unilocal reviews and they lived up to the hype! The reception staff was so friendly and professional, the waiting area was nice and the salon is well maintained — bright and clean.
Harper was my stylist, and she did a great job on my hair! She listened carefully to my preferences, my previous experience with this type of haircut, and my lifestyle and hair styling habits (or lack thereof). She was responsive and skilled. She didn’t rush me, but I also didn’t feel like it was taking forever! Her manner behind the chair was perfect — she made conversation without saying «same story, only with me in it!» — even though we had some very specific experiences in common. She was perfect. I’ll definitely be back!

Duncan has cut my hair for two years. I switched stylists after 15 years based on the haircut of a coworker – she always looked great. My hair is hard to cut and Duncan has figured it out and taught me how to dry and style it. I love my angled Bob cut, constantly get compliments, and recommend Duncan to everyone.

Duncan has been cutting my hair for 25 years, and that speaks volumes. My hair is thick & straight, so there’s no room for error, and he’s never faltered. Duncan and the whole crew — which includes 2 daughters and a son in law — are all talented hair stylists. In addition, Duncan is a real mensch. When I was diagnosed with cancer lost all my hair in treatment, I bought a wig, which looked horrible. I called Duncan in a panic, and he told me to come over to his house that minute (it was evening, after a long day’s work). He worked magic on that thing right there, which somehow restored some much needed solace to my life right then. I drive all the way across town every 6 weeks to get my hair cut, and I would drive twice as far if need be. It’s worth the traffic, the money, the trip. This guy, and his place, are the real deal.

I was able to be a first time customer within 2 days of calling and at the time I needed. Katelin was fantastic! My hair was all messed up from a box color (my fault) and she was able to repair it and get it back to what I wanted. She also explained to me why the cut I wanted wasn’t the best for me and gave me a cut that I really liked. It was a great experience. Everyone there smiled and was friendly. I will definitely be back!

I love Duncan Edwards. The cut and the color are excellent. I get compliments all the time on the style and color. Duncan knows exactly what to do and Natasha is superb with color. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

This is an awesome place to get a man’s haircut. Natasha and Aaron have both given me fantastic haircuts. It’s easy to get to and easy to park. They’ve always been on time for me.

Always feel and look 100x better after a trip to Duncan Edwards. Great staff. Natasha is my stylist and I honestly do not know what I would do without her. I have an insane amount of hair and prior to Duncan Edwards I was constantly going to new stylists trying to find someone who could do what I wanted. My kids go to her also and refuse to go anywhere else.

I went from collar bone length hair to a pixie cut and was extremely satisfied with my experiences here and with my stylist Natasha. She knew how to translate the pictures from Pinterest I brought in into a haircut that would work with my curly & wavy hair. Cutting that much hair off in one sitting is very nerve-​wracking but I felt confidence in Natasha’s abilities. Great place to get fun, edgy haircuts for very reasonable prices!

Just wanted to give this place an updated shout-​out. Four years after my original review, and my haircuts are still reliably fab from Natasha at Duncan Edward. Check out what I wrote below – all that info holds true, too.

I have to admit, it was the British accent on their radio commercial that tempted me to try the salon. I hadn’t looked at any reviews online, nor had I tried anywhere else in town 6 years ago when we first came to Madison. I showed up and asked for a stylist to make my hair look more awesome… and am I glad that I did!
For over half a decade I have been a loyal client of Aaron’s. He is absolutely phenomenal. From a simple bang-​trim to an after-​hours please-​please-​please-​make-​my-​hair-​curly attempt, he is the quintessential hair professional. I always feel comfortable to tell him if I like the style, or if I want something a little different.
Over time I’ve come to know all the stylists, and have taken my mother and mother-​in-​law in for cuts/​colors. Every single stylist has been equally as amazing. I cannot recommend their creative abilities highly enough.
It’s a unique salon. From the outside it looks like any other building in Madison, but inside it is cool and stylish, a real hidden treasure.
I agree with Elizabeth’s final tip: Parking is plentiful round the back, and the entrance is at the rear of the building, and is much easier to access from the lot!

Duncan Edwards Salon is the best in town. I have had my hair cut there for over 10 years. Natasha is timely, friendly and gives me a consistent cut every time. Teh staff is uniformly friendly and helpful. Text message reminders of my haircuts are appreciated during my busy weeks.

I have been going to see Aaron for about four years now and have to say that it has been a very positive experience both for the quality of the haircuts as well as the conversations. My hair always looks great after he’s done with it. I don’t really ask for anything in particular and just let him do his thing. He is a real pro!
