This review is for Stanton Optical Madison East, this company use to be very good with the price and quality of their glasses when they just open, we’ve had several glasses made for our family of 4 wearing glasses for years, got good deals for price, but the last time we were there and order new glasses was pretty bad, the sale is the bait and switch game. Ended up paying $ 300.00 for one, the buy one get free at the time sale not worth anything. The quality of the lense and the workmanship on the eye glass itself was so poor, was not polish when I received it, had to go back many times, every time they polished it, the lenses on both sides are not lined or crooked. After a year it had cracked, it absorbs so much grime and dirt, Had to clean it many times during the day, just staying home not even working around dirty environments. Ended up not wearing it. Toss it in the garbage.

Good luck trying to get in and out with minimal service in less than two and a half hours. Seriously expect to be in there for a really long time. If you have a specific budget you’re trying to stay within, and/or if you don’t want extra add-on features like warranty, UV protection coating, etc etc, be prepared to say«no» like 50 times. They go far, far past good salesmanship and deep into haranguing and annoying territory. Their commitment to nickel and diming you for $ 10 or $ 20 at a time is going to cost them customers. If you want them to honor the satisfaction guarantee, be prepared to be VERYAGGRESSIVE, persistent, stand your ground and budget lots and lots of time(hours) to demand your refund. Otherwise you’ll be referred to corporate who will give you a whole new level of run-around. Do not leave the store until someone TAKESACTION that complies with the satisfaction guarantee. Again, be prepared to be in there for a very long time if you’re trying to get corrective action for a product you’re not satisfied with. Normal service can easily take more than two hours. The process to fix a problem will take much, much more than that. If you’re not happy with the service you get, you are in for a very, very, very, very long and torturous process. Don’t forget to post a positive review to get your discount!

The glasses ended up like you were looking out of smeared grease on. Went to a new company and got different glasses. Went back to get Stanton ’ branded fixed, seeing there was a warranty for a year. Well I guess we didn’t read the fine print. Even though it was before a year, we’d have to pay a percentage. It would have cost $ 80 after we paid already $ 600. It was their defect of the glare resistance. They said if we would have come in within a month they could have done something. Sorry we didn’t realize the year warranty was really only a month. Bad business.

I have been a customer of Stanton Optical for a few years and have never had a bad experience. I regularly get new lenses using my two pairs of existing frames as each gets scratched, etc. and each visit has been better than the last. This most recent time, I stopped in and was helped by Alex, the store manager. My lens warranty was slightly out of date and given the fact that my spare pair which needed adjustment had clearly never been worn, he was able to have the lenses reworked for next to nothing. Alex clearly outlined the expected date of return and as that date approached, I called the store to see if the glasses might be done a day early since I was leaving on a trip the next day and wanted the new, scratch-free glasses for the trip. Kari, the manager trainee, fielded my call and was eager to help me out by bumping my glasses into the on-site shop for pickup later that day in order to accommodate my trip schedule. I certainly did not expect that, but her ability to send me on my way with the new glasses was definitely above and beyond the call of duty not often seen anymore. I very much appreciated the great service and value I have received here.

I decided to go to Stanton because my insurance changed and I can’t go to my regular eye doctor anymore. I just needed a prescription renewal for my contacts, so I thought this would be fine until I find a new one. This place is a total nightmare. I made an appointment so that I wouldn’t have to wait for my eye exam, but that did nothing. I got there 5 min. before I was scheduled and there were 2 people ahead of me. I signed in and sat down. I’m a patient person, so I didn’t really care. While I was waiting, there was a weird incident with the doctor passive-aggressively sort of yelling at one of the employees, right in front of about 5 customers– not cool. After about 15 minutes I was taken in for my pre-exam. That went fine, and then I was sent back to the waiting room. Where I sat for over an HOUR. It was the most bizarre experience. The doctor took the other 2 patients first, and their exams went pretty quick. I was a little annoyed since I had an appointment, but I thought maybe they did too and things were running behind schedule. So I sat. Once the doctor finished the other two I waited to be taken to the exam room, but that never happened. The doctor instead got on the phone. She kept making phone calls and going in and out of her office. My husband finally asked her what was going on, and she said she had to contact corporate because we had been waiting so long. WHAT?! I had been waiting forever because she was on the phone– SHE was causing the wait! And she was making it longer. I asked her if there was someone that could do my exam and she said yes, her, but she had to talk to corporate first because she had to follow protocol. She asked if we could come back, but I already had been sitting there for forever and had my contacts out, so I told her I just wanted the exam done and would wait. She wasn’t very happy about that. Eventually another employee came back to the waiting room to ask what she was doing and she said the same thing– she was calling corporate and the lines were tied up. She told the guy that if she couldn’t get thru to someone she was leaving. He looked shocked and asked why she would do that, to which she replied«because I can.» Then she yelled at him to go do his job. After that outburst I put my contacts back in and left. I’ve never experienced anything quite like that before, and I hope I never do again. This doctor was so incredibly unprofessional, rude, and just bizarre. She needs to be removed.

This would be a negative star ratings if possible. We got my brother 2 pairs of glasses from here this past summer. Both pairs broke by September. I took them in because they have a warranty. They had me pay a deductible, so we only fixed one pair, they took the lenses out and placed then in the frames off the wall, later that week surprise the lenses fell out, I took them back in they said they would order new lenses, they called to say they were in I went to pick up and they had NO idea what i was talking about. They re-ordered them, fixed them. One month later they broke again. I took them in. I was told I would have to pay the deductible again. The lady was rude, interrupted me every time I talked, and made it seem like I was the one that was in the wrong. Needless to say I did not get his glasses fixed, and I will NEVER be going here again. The customer service is crap and the glasses break within months.

I went to Stanton for prescription sunglasses. I wanted the 2 for $ 69 deal. I ended up paying $ 209 because you had to upgrade the lenses. I ordered them two weeks ago. They never called to tell me they were done and I live out of town. I specifically asked that they be done in two weeks because of living out of town. They said no problem. I called two weeks later when I was back in town. They told me it would take another week. I explained the situation and told them I needed them ASAP. One pair was finished that day. The second pair is still not done and they told me they would be completed the end of the day Friday. I drove all the way over there Friday and yesterday for nothing. EXTREMELY disappointed! I fully intend to demand a refund! Worst service I have ever experienced! Don’t tell me on two separate occasions they will be done and have me drive there when they are not ready!

Great prices(with groupon) and great service !!! I had frames and needed new lenses, I threw away the old lenses, they took the time to figure out the shape of the lenses and custom cut them for me. Lenses were polycarbonate, anti-glare and scratch resistant all for $ 62(normal price would have been $ 212 just for the lenses but i had a $ 50 groupon for $ 200 worth) I would definitely use Stanton again and will refer others. another downside, they require several days to finish the lenses(no 1 hour or same day service). P. S. if it had not been for the Groupon, I would not have used them as the price would have been higher than most.
