Wow! I have to say that when I made reservations for Monday night I expected we would be one of only a few in the«house». Imagine my surprise when we pulled up to the restaurant and the parking lot was full! I knew at that point we were going to have a good meal. This was our first visit since new owners took over 6 years ago. I had the Delmonico rib eye and my wife had the filet. I have to say the steaks rank as among the best I have had in a restaurant ever. Salad and sides were excellent and we really enjoyed the atmosphere too. service was excellent. A «five star» surprise in the middle of a quaint Baldwin county hamlet.

This little hidden gem was outstanding. From the service to the food everything was first class. I can’t say enough about our waiter Nathan. Thank you for our great 14th anniversary dinner.

I have been to Jesses twice in the past month. This is one of the hidden gems that you find in the middle of nowhere. Driving through when I stumbled upon it, the town of magnolia springs is like something out of a book. Jesses uses local vegetables, 100% angus, and everything is fresh daily. The first time we made reservations which you should always do. They got us a quiet spot in one of the side rooms. We started out with one of their signature mixed drinks, a Jameson neat, and an appetizer. Stuffed mushrooms if I remember correctly .I wish I could remember the name but it was a special that they change and they were very good. Light and full of flavor. For our meal we got the yellowedge grouper and breast of chicken. It was good, but we left feeling like we should have went more traditional and went from the normal menu. That lead us to two weeks later. We were at another local restaurant having a drink. The service was just not good. We called jesses and they were able to get us in. We went into it full on and had drinks at the bar while we waited. The boat house old fashioned for me and a cosmobellini for her. When we were seated we started with an appetizer of crab toast, which was jumbo lump crab, abocado, West Indies aioli, basil, parmesan crostini. It was really good, just enough to keep you satisfied and not fill you up. I decided to go with the Kings cut, which is a bone in filet 12 – 14 oz, topped with Lobster Oscar… sautéed lobster, asparagus, hollandaise. She got the Shrimp and Grits which is gulf shrimp, Conecuh sausage, green and red peppers, green onions, smoked gouda grits. Hands down this was the best meal we have ever had. Fresh, flavorful, I can’t say enough good things. We even went for dessert which is rare. She got the Callebaut Chocolate Lava Cake. It’s gluten-free, made with the best chocolate available, fresh raspberries, raspberry sauce. I went for the key lime cheesecake. Both were out of this world. It’s not cheap, but if you want a great atmosphere, good night out with some amazing food then Jesses is the place to be.

We were staying in Fairhope for the week and made the 15⁄20 minute drive to Jesse’s for lunch. Wish we had heard of this restaurant earlier in our stay! We would have come back several times. Excellent food. Great service. And a lovely setting. We had the fried green tomato appetizer, shrimp and grits main as well as a pesto crusted salmon with eisotto, spinach and crème fraîche. And shared an excellent bread pudding withe pecan sauce and icecream. All delicious.

I am not sure if the previous reviewer even dined at Jesse’s. My husband and I have been enjoying this superb restaurant for years. We have never had nothing less than a wonderful experience from the accommodating staff to the supreme food. Jesse’s is our go to spot, definitely worth the trip. We love the Cold Hole, you can dress to the nines or go in jeans and be perfectly comfortable with everyone around you. I see that the previous terrible negative review was removed by the reviewer. That was the right thing to do as they certainly had their restaurants mixed up.

This place is so worth the drive from Mobile. We had reservations and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is upscale with a casual vibe. We had the bacon appetizer, the beef and barley soup, and the romaine wedge to start. Then we ordered the two dry aged steaks cooked medium rare. The bone in strip was the best. This meal was absolutely amazing! Then we topped if off with the chocolate lava dessert. Great service. Great food.

Love this restaurant! Everything is made from scratch and reasonably priced. If you are in Foley or anywhere close, the short drive to Magnolia Springs is well worth it!

Great atmosphere, excellent service, and TASTY food! I had the daily special which was pan seared snapper, atop wilted spinach and garlic mashed potatos. BESTSPINACHIVEEVERHAD… holy cow. The potatoes did not disappoint either. The fish was perfectly cooked; most places tend to overcook it. It was topped with a delicious butter sauce. My wife had the Allison Chicken or something like that. Chicken was a little dry, thus my 4⁄5 star rating. With those two entrees, two glasses of wine, and a cocktail our total was $ 75. Less than expected to be honest. For the ambience, service, and food, I would gladly pay it again. WEWILLRETURN!

Jesses should be ashamed at the Thanksgiving Dinner Garbage they served for $ 40.00 a person., nothing but Cheese and tough Brussels Sprouts., the worst Dressing I have ever seen., everything was so bad most of it was passed over., then the guy cutting Turkey had a little wedge and cut you a Bisquit size piece., the worst Desserts ever., not one Cake or Pie., just frozen Store bought Crap. I was able to eat only half of whatI got., the Cranberry Sauce burned my throat up., I have a rule Three Strikes and your out., this was the third Strike., no wonder Paula Dean is so rich., she can cook., Jesses But some Cook Books., I came home afterwards and cooked a real Thanksgiving Meal, and it was good. Good luck to who ever go there. Refunds are not given out., TERRIBLE.

We drove an hour from Gulf Breeze to meet some coworkers for dinner at Jesse’s. Was it worth it? YES! The fact that BACON was listed as an appetizer was a clear indication that dinner was going to go well. It was an early dinner on a Monday so we didn’t experience any wait time(we also had a reservation). Our table was ready inside, but I couldn’t help to admire the cozy outdoor seating with the hanging lights above the porch facing the lush green backdrop. During dinner, our waiter was very attentive and made some pretty great recommendations. I definitely wanted to order seafood – already having had an awesome experience with Flounder’s – so of course I went for the Diver Scallops. My coworkers ordered the whiskey steak and another fish plate, which I didn’t try, but I am including pictures with this review. For the table, we ordered the BACON dish and the duck rolls. Without a doubt, the bacon was delicious. It was thick and juicy; nothing else needed. The duck rolls were served over pickled radish, and layered together was amazing. The scallops over the goat cheese orzo were cooked perfectly. It was creamy and light, and flavorful all at once. The scallops were a good portion and a bit bigger than average. I was very pleased with my selection. The only disappointment of the night was the drinks. I ordered an old fashioned and it was a bit watered down with all the ice. The crushed cherries on the bottom of the glass didn’t help the situation either. I changed my drink for a chocolate martini, figuring that if the alcohol situation wasn’t good, then at least the chocolate would disguise it. By the end of the night, we decided to share the bread pudding between two of us. It’s served in two pieces with a scoop of ice cream so it was just right for sharing. All in all, we left with a warm smile on our faces and I was glad we made a point of visiting Jesse’s

Four of us had dinner at Jesse’s during the week. We could not have been more pleased with the service, the ambience, the drinks, and the food were all excellent. We had the Oysters 49, which I thought were exceptionally good; the Oysters Jessamine, which were good; the Lobster and Brie Quesadillas and the Duck and Goat Cheese Spring Rolls. For entrees, we had filets and the Whiskey Ribeyes. We would order all again, except maybe not the Oysters Jessamine. For dessert, we had the Pear Crisp and the Crème Brulee. The Pear Crisp was fantastic and the crème brûlée was very good. Our waiter was attentive without hovering. It was one of our best dining experiences of our trip to the beach!

The first time my mom with some friends, the waiter was extremely rude to them. I actually wrote an email to the manager, who brought the problem to the owner. In two weeks, we received an apology card with a $ 100 gift card. When we went back, the waiter who had served her previously was not there. The service this time was fair, but I personally enjoyed the food. This restaurant is fancy but not very fancy. Its ambience is what’s worth it for me. Not the best food I’ve ever had, but a good social environment. The meal for two was $ 40. I would say a bit expensive for what we got, but I wouldn’t mind going back there, even paying out of pocket. Worth a try if you’re hungry and in the area.

Apps were great! Restaurant had great character. Our waitress could not have been better. Kids filet was better than my dry aged ribeye. Me and my wife’s steaks were undercooked. Manager brought them out with no apology or offer to pick up a glass of wine or desert I’d give it another try as the steaks were a great cut of meat for both the dry aged ribeye and bone in filet. If you like a steak from Mortons, Elways or Del Friscos. Order something else. You’ll be disappointed. You can cook a better steak at home fellas!

Simply incredible! We had an excellent dining experience here! We sat in the sunroom and enjoyed every bite. We shared the shrimp & grits and the bacon wrapped venison chops. They couldn’t have been any better ! For this quality & locally stocked menu, you can’t beat the price! It’s a new favorite on our list of Baldwin Co restaurants!

Very disappointing dining experience. We made reservations for the sun room for a very special lunch at Jessie’s. When we arrived, the young host seated us in a different room not even addressing our request. When we told him that we had made reservations for the sun room, we were told that a large party was going to be seated in that room. What upset us was that we were seated in a different room without even addressing our request. To top it off, the room was empty for over an hour while we ordered and dined before they started setting up the one large table. We felt that the restaurant placed a higher value on the larger party than our dining experience. We started our lunch with an appetizer of crab on toast. The crab tasted very fishy, it definitely was not fresh and had a very strong onion flavor. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich and I ordered the airline chicken. Her sandwich was very tasty and served with an order of hot french fries. My airline chicken was also prepared properly and was also very good. We ordered the bread pudding to share for dessert. It was very dry and we just took a bite or two and did not bother taking it home with us. It was very unfortunate that our special occasion had to start off so poorly, and then the disappointing appetizer and dessert. Our lunch meal with drinks was nearly $ 100 for two people and we expected and deserved a much better dining experience.

Jesse’s is a jewel hidden deep in the heart of Magnolia Springs, Alabama. Owners Steve and Angie Coltharp have created an environment second to none. Favorite appetizer is the New Orleans style Barbeque Shrimp. You’ll be asking for extra bread to make sure you finish off the delicious sauce. Highlights of the menu are the oysters and fish offerings, all brought in fresh daily, and both wet and dry aged steaks. Jesse’s may be hard to find but once you get there you’ll never forget how to make it back!

This place is really good!!! I’ve been twice now and the food way amazing. The Delmonico steaks are a must. We also had the ahi-tuna special and I don’t know how to describe it– delicious. All the sides and appetizers were great too(asparagus, garlic mashed potatoes, cucumber salad, raw oysters, lobster quesadilla). The only app I wasn’t impressed with was the Parmesan spring roll. The only reason I’m giving it a 4-star is because the room we were sat in last night had carpet on the ceiling that was dirty and stained. We also had several flies that wouldn’t leave us alone. AND the main reason I’m not giving it a 5 was because the wine bottle we bought(Dependable? Pinot noir) was terrible . But don’t let that discourage you. Just don’t get that wine and get seated in the bar area, outside, or in the other«white room». Try it!!!

If I dreamt of classic servers, I’d dream of you. If I dreamt of an idealistic location, I’d dream of Jesse. If I dreamt of this New York-esk Nuevo cuisine, I’d pray in the dream that the chef would look like Heidi Klum and not Morgan Freeman. But, truth be told maybe not all my dreams came true, but this one did. Jesse’s Restaurant is in an idyllically beautiful location, it’s in a Norman Rockwell setting, quaint, very quaint and to top it all off, they have great eating music(I can’t take it) This is better then a dream, I can’t taste a dream. But, what about the food? Well in my dream Heidi Klum served me a pressed duck sandwich, Heidi was provocatively dressed, and well the sandwich was amazing, but in real life, Heidi wasn’t there to make this smoked duck sandwich, it was Jesse’s newest chef. The food was excellent. I’m very impressed and I’ll be back again and again. Shorty our server is a vetted professional, she had more stories the Cecil B, Demil, a charming person with a vivacious personality.
