Dockside Restaurant at Riverview

I’ve been to the Dockside in Malden Center many times and always enjoyed it, but the layout is hard for my grandmother to navigate, so I thought we’d try their other location nearby for change. Big mistake.
–The décor is completely different. The Malden Center location has the warm look and feel of a neighborhood restaurant/​bar. This was cold and sterile.
–The menu is significantly different. I’m not sure exactly how many items were missing, but the layout was different. Malden Center has pictures and great descriptions of everything, which isn’t necessary, but it makes it hard to tell exactly how much smaller the Medford menu is, which is all one one page. I do know the Buffalo Mac and Cheese isn’t available on Medford St.
–Most importantly, we basically left without eating. We ordered an appetizer and cup of soup and entrees. The soup came out what seemed like an excessively long time after placing our order, but nothing too ridiculous. The waitress assured us the app would be out shortly. 20 minutes go by and nothing. No app, no entrees. At that point, I asked for the check for our drinks and my grandmother’s cup of soup. even that took like another ten minutes to sort out.
–Oh yes, my soda was also flat.

Not the best. The only reason I even returned was the proximity to our work place. This is a prime example of a local watering hole that has gotten confused about their messaging. The décor is cold and unfriendly while the staff is just as rude. They may or may not take your order depending on their private conversations. The food is average and can not overcome the horrible service.

Worst place ever. The price is reasonable. However, the service Is just disgusting. We had to wait literally an hour to get out entrees. We had to be asking for everything we needed, including water. If you are planning to get dinner at this place, good luck with waiting a long time while having a terrible service.

Moderately priced American traditional. Can’t go wrong with that. Food was as I expected, good, but nothing spectacular.

The waitstaff is not the best trained, the restaurant serves mostly frozen food (the wings and steak we ordered still had ice in the center they didn’t thaw properly. It is not good at all. I have been there twice and i will never go back.
Dockside has other locations, i recommend going to the one in Revere or the other Malden location on main and center street if you want to eat at dockside, the food there is good and the drinks are good too.
Dockside is a good local «chain» just avoid this specific location or you will regret it.

Stopped here after a late night at work on the way home from Wellington. Motz sticks are awesome, nice and big and gooey. Was told they are home made. Basic ceasar salad and the steak tip dinner was nothing special. I’ll go back for the motz and a glass of wine, but probably not much else.

Lobster roll went up in price to $ 15. Apparently it is another ounce and a half bigger. But it definitely is not as good a deal anymore.

I love this place but please wipe the bar especially when you see me using my coaster to move the crumbs.

I’m a fan of Dockside in Wakefield, but Wednesday night was my 1^st time dinning at this Malden location.
I loved it!
My husband was stuck working late at his Malden office, so Dockside was like an oasis to us by the time we arrived for a late dinner.
$ 3 margaritas?! Why not? Quite tasty and worth it!
½ price apps after 8 PM — tried that too with delicious mozzarella sticks.
My husband got a $ 2 Coors draft.
Our waiter was attentive and the food & drink was delicious!
I had a turkey burger with avocado and I’d order it again. My husband has the haddock BLT and mashed potatoes. He said they were great!
We’ll definitely be back soon.

Wow really? After that whole review you think I actually was praising something? I didn’t think saying something was ok and you can’t screw it up because it’s hard to screw up a deli meat sandwich meant that I was complimenting you.
Please don’t thank me for my review. It’s an insult. There is nothing I mean as a compliment in there. This place is a drinking place only, which is fine because they’ve already established that’s all they want to be.

Been here at a Friday night! It was my friends & I and bunch of old chaps! Too bright for a bar! It was really no one here compared to other bard in Boston!

The apps are great and really cheap. This is a good go to when you are hungry and don’t feel like going in town fight for parking.

I had a great experience, the staff was amazing, and everyone was happy to be at work! I ordered steak tips, and they were so delicious !!!

My wife and I were very disappointed with our experience here yesterday. We ordered a couple of margaritas and they were mostly ice, mix and very little taquila and with their menu way trimmed down (no hotdogs, pastrami and quesadillas to mention three regular items that were taken off) we ordered mac and cheese only to get a substandard entrée equivalent to a Krafts Mac and Cheese or just some plain, canned cheese sauce added to the overcooked elbows and for the ridiculously inflated price of $ 10.99, each. We are not happy campers with this place and are done eating here.

Really bad, inexperienced servers. Manager was not nice or helpful.
Kind of a dive hidden in a decent looking building.

Good place to watch sports or play keno. The food isn’t very good. but they have drink specials and lots of TV’s. So if ya wanna drink and watch sports this is the place.

I went to the newest Dockside last night. I was happily surprised by the atmosphere and service but disappointed by the food. With the exception of the fried pickles which both I and my daughter loved, all the food seemed to come from the freezer or a can. I ordered nachos and am happy I asked them to put the chili on the side, it had that tinny, from a can taste and was completely inedible. The salsa was watery and couldn’t be scooped up by the chips from the plastic container it was in, only dipped, which considering the consistency was futile. My sons fries seemed fine but his chicken fingers were of the weaver variety, I wouldn’t mind but making chicken fingers fresh is cheap, do it right and evenadults will order them. My daughters kids nachos were pretty basic, just cheese and chips which is how she likes them.
I will try it again as I have a three strike rule when it comes to restaurants but for now the only redeeming qualities were the beer and the fact that I could drink it in peace as long as I kept my kids supplied with quarters for the video games. Maybe I’ll try a burger next time.

So Im Not typically one to give a bad review!
Lets make this clear the Restaurant and Food were GREAT! We Had buffalo wings, they were excellent, Plenty TVs for Sports etc
So Here is the reason for the 2 Stars…
So we went to eat we went to play a little KENO and Drink a little, I drank a N/​A Beer that went empty in 5 minutes and the bar tender JANINE never asked if we want another, Never came by to clean our Buffalo Wings Mess, And Worst of all gave us 2 Napkins that came with the Silver Ware and Never came by to see if we needed more!
I would Understand this if it was busy and they were in the weeds, But it was 2:30pm and if there were 8 ppl in the Bar included us it was alot!
Then here is the horrible experience, we went to Play Keno. The bar tender didnt want to put our tickets in when we took it to the BAR, She told my buddy «if you are going to keep playing many tickets at one time «Im Going to Go Crazy» «And she would keep avoiding us as we cashed the winners and brought new numbers up.
Her Service was completely Horrible, Next time i see her at the Bar i will go to the next place i can down the ROAD.

Tornado? What? We’ve got hockey to watch! My friend and I watch the Bruins at one of … 4 (or so) local watering holes. Outrageous weather was not going to keep us from this tradition.
I pulled up and from the parking lot I could see a mess of people wearing black and yellow. I figured we’d branched out in the right direction. I could see lots of TVs inside, and no satellite dishes on the roof, even better.
We chose a booth that we could see the bar TVs from, and ordered nachos and a caesar salad with steak.
The special beer for the week/​month/​season? Was a watermelon flavor, locally brewed. We asked if we could try before we buy, and asked if they did pitchers. Waiter said: yes, and yes.
Watermelon beer tastes like chap stick, or lipgloss. Just sos’ya know. Tastes fresh at first, but then just like lipgloss.
The waiter was the man. He had glasses, and a name I didn’t really hear.
The nachos were good. They had a full flavor to them, you could taste the beans, the salsa, all of the ingredients were obvious, and tasty.
We decided to move to the bar, and right before we closed our tab, somebody swiped the stools we were hoping to sit on. Fear not! Cool waiter came to our rescue, he got us two other bar stools from somewhere else in the place, and set us up to watch the game!
The service at the bar to the right of the entrance, was practically nonexistent, and really, it would’ve been really cool if they’d let our waiter be the bartender cause the real one was nowhere to be found.
I’d go back, but only if I sat at the other end of the bar, or got there early enough to scoop up better booths to watch a game. Maybe we’ll try trivia night, since they have two a week, and it’s spitting distance from the homestead.

I will have to give this place a second chance, It seems like they rushed to get this place opened.
They need to work on there menu better.
The parking lot was full but no one was inside.
