Got puffle cones! They are awful cute! Very large in size and easily can be split between two people. Unless of course your pretty hungry for a sweet treat! Of 3 of us we only ventured into the wold of strawberry and chocolate. Call us unadventurous today. So to explain; these have an egg«waffle type«piece freshly made when you order placed into the cardboard come, depending on which flavor you choose it will have some fresh fruit, ice cream, two Poky Sticks(think Italian roulette cookies, and a little whipped cream. It seems sometimes thy switch up flavored and toppings, different week different«newbie». But I can’t say that’s all the time. Proces for these are comparable to an ice cream Sunday at most any local ice cream bar I’ve been too. Is it worth it? I’d say yes! Although having a punch card program or maybe offering certain Puffles at certain times for a little less might be nice…:Hint hint: The best news is that according to their sign in the store they will now have Puffle Cones Availible everyday of the week. We waited all week to try them on Friday once we heard of them, not knowing they’ve started offering them full time. Also there was a great selection of teas coffees and milk teas(yum) I can’t say what other options there are on the menu as I couldn’t see anything else regarding the other foods. I have seen many pictures from other people so I know there is more, just didn’t see it. The décor is adorable, the staff very friendly and from everything I could see it is very clean. Gitchy item which will probably sell well for quite sometime… Now either all these little bubble tea shops will start offering these puffle cones or the hype will die down eventually. But for now, they’ve got a cool idea and they’re worth the trip and price! I hope they do well for a long time

This place reminds me of the Philly version of Tea Do, where it is catered to high school kids who can hang out after school, play board games and drink some bubble tea. We came here for the egg puff waffle with ice cream, a trendy Asian dessert. We got the I luv u so matcha, which consists of red bean mochi, strawberries, chocolate pocky, chocolate drizzle and green tea matcha ice cream. I wanted to share it with my daughter and husband and it was difficult to do so as presented. Luckily, the woman at the cashier was able to provide a plate to us so we could deconstruct the ice cream and eat it with a fork and spoon. I would come back to try the other flavors. What I wouldn’t come back for are the smoothies. I got the coconut with pudding and It tasted very watery. My husband got the avocado smoothie and he said it tasted nothing like it and threw it out. Points are knocked down for that. Points are also knocked down for slow service in the front of the house. The kitchen seems to be reserved for making the ice cream and snacks, while the front is for making smoothies. It took them close to 20 – 30 minutes to provide me with the coconut smoothie in a non-rush hour service timeframe. That is way too long to wait for a drink.

This place is super cute and cozy. The tables are pretty and the ambiance is nice. It’s small so not the best place for groups. I got a monkey King tea with tapioca and my mother for an almond milk tea with mango boba. They were just sweet enough to feel like a treat, but not overpoweringly sweet. We split an egg puff waffle which came out warm and was light and delicious. They had so many smoothie and tea options that I would definitely come back to try some more things.

Had high expectations of this place due to ratings but wasn’t really a super fan. They had 4 people working and only 2 seemed busy and I waited a while for someone to take my order. Went there specifically for boba tea cause it’s a specialty item… and they were out of boba. Boba costs extra and I paid before I was told. They offered me a substitution but I really just wanted regular boba so I told them I would go without the boba. Was not offered the difference in cost back.

Compared to about a year ago when they first opened, this place has improved a lot(in terms of their drinks.) Their puffle cones are great!!! It’s not just only for the IG photo, these things are pretty tasty even though they’re almost $ 8. Food here is alright, not my thing. Great staff here they’re all pretty chill even though they’re crazy busy on the weekends. For their puffle cones, Adzuki Dreaming and I Luv U So Matcha are the ones I get and something I would get again for sure! Adzuki Dreaming has red bean ice cream and I Luv U So Matcha has green tea ice cream. Both of these came with either ice creams, red bean mochi, strawberries, chocolate drizzle, and 2 sticks of pocky. I wanna try more of them of course, will come back sooner or later. Their bubble tea here is alright, not a huge fan of the special drinks, I’ll always stick to the classics like Zen and Black Milk Tea. I don’t like their hot drinks either, they’re too bland, not enough flavor and a little too much water. Food here is okay as well, since this was a restaurant I hope they have some decent foods. Spicy crab rangoon is crab rangoon but with some buffalo sauce added, a little too saucy and it wasn’t thick enough. A bite out of it would cause it to ooze out LOL. The egg puffs here are pretty good, especially the special ones like matcha filled puffs. I mean they do come with the puffle cones, but nothing can beat the egg puff lady in Chinatown.

HK egg puff cones are the new hype dessert item! In theory it would be an amazing combo – egg puff and ice cream mmm… but it wasn’t as good. I love the egg puffs when they’re warm and soft but obviously adding ice cream will make the waffle harder. I had a red bean ice cream puffle and it was just okay. There was way too much waffle compare to the single scoop of ice cream. The mochi was a nice touch though. Overall a bit lacking for the price tag. The little shop area is cute – the games were fun to have around! Maybe I’ll be back to try the bubble tea but it’s a little further out from the main area of Malden.

Although I am not a fan of their bubble tea drinks, I am totally head over heels with their puffle cones! I wanted to try it couple months ago when they had a deal of getting a free bubble tea drink with an order of the puffle cone, but the lines were too long and it was freezing. I went back this past weekend and was kind of sad that I didn’t get to try it sooner. Everything about it was perfect — the taste of the egg puff, the serving size, the presentation, and most importantly, the overall flavor of it.

Got the«I luv u so matcha» egg puff waffle cone with green tea ice cream and it was big enough for two people to share so I don’t think the $ 7 for it was too pricey, although I know that the egg puffs are usually only like $ 1 in Chinatown. The ice cream was creamy and yummy, very strong flavor of matcha(not sure if it’s homemade). My only complaint is that the egg puff was kind of cold and didn’t seem freshly made but I guess they can’t do that otherwise the ice cream would melt too fast. The area was also really small with a tiny bathroom, but it works if you want to do work in there.

Came here after late lunch. Wanted to try the egg puff ice cream/puffle cone that is only available on weekends… ordered the ‘I luv u so matcha’ and it was yummy… Price was ok but could add in a few more toppings… Also tried their Monkey King tea(milk tea).had a sip and was not a fan… needs work… watery and no flavor. bleh… Tiny place in the first floor of a house… has a sofa and few tables n chairs… some board games available to play… street parking is limited… A lot of staff but slow service… $ 5 minimum if you want to pay with card… also hours are changing… check their social sites for updates…

In the area for dinner and managed to sneak in right before closing on a Saturday night(8pm). MKT is located on the first floor of what looks like a converted house, ample street parking(at least during that time of night)! There are a few tables and scattered seats to converse and enjoy your beverages. Our main priority was to try the puffle cones. Conceptually, they are great. Execution was so-so especially when you take into consideration they are almost $ 8 a piece. The egg puffs were overdone and not the soft pillows that the lady in Chinatown makes. You get one scoop of ice cream making the puff: ice cream ration just off. Toppings are also scarce… I think we had three slices of strawberry and a dollop of whip cream. None of the toppings are what I would consider expensive so at least make it worthy of the premium price. I counted 5 employees, but all seemed to be using up energy in walking back and forth than actually getting the job done. There was a speech impaired table of 5 and the employee just seemed irritated and ignored them when they asked for additional napkins and whip cream.

The only reason to visit Monkey King Tea is if you want bubble tea while your on this very street or you want egg puffs with ice cream and you’re lucky it’s the weekend. I got a small monkey king tea with boba $ 4.01… They only take card if it’s $ 5 or more and I only had a $ 10… I wish they had done their pricing to avoid stuff like this. I didn’t taste much tea. It was good, sugary, and the boba were chewy. My friend got a matcha ice cream egg puffle $ 7.25. I tried a puff and it was decent. Looks rubbery but is tasty, hollow in the middle, crunchy on the sides. My friend enjoyed it though. The bathroom is tiny, it was fine for me but I’m tiny, so for all you tall people, watch your head. If and when Malden becomes the new Chinatown or a new Chinatown in MA, then I would be more inclined to come.

I am boba tea fan and picky. I got matcha milk tea. The tea flavor is too strong and has bitter in the end tasting. The monkey milk tea is not enough milk in there. The egg puffs was not good too. Don’t like anything I get. The egg puff is not soft and puffy. Compare with the one in china town. The customer service is nice but the food and drink are not.

I recently came back here with a few friends and I must say I definitely am happy with how much better their drinks taste overall. I ordered the matcha shake and it was very, very good. My other friend ordered a bubble tea, which he very much liked. I am definitely enthusiastic to try the other drinks seeing as though how much they improved on consistency. I also ordered the coffee pufflecone and I thought it was absolutely wonderful. The egg waffle was crispy on the outside but chewy on the inside. I wish it wasn’t only available on weekends because I would order it more often if I could. The place also was renovated so it has a much more modern and clean feel to it. It’s a nice place to hang out and chill with friends.

Monkey King Tea is a fantastic little shop with great service, ambiance, and above all — bubble tea. I was dying to get the egg puffles(just look at the photos — they’re just as beautiful in real life) but this time I was just there for bubble tea. With many choices of tea, juice, and smoothies, as well as accoutrements to add, it took me a while to decide. I settled on the Thai Tea with tapioca boba. With tea, you can find it to be too weak, too sweet, too bitter: this was nothing like that. With a subtle sweetness and heavy on flavor, I chugged that puppy in under 10 minutes(16 oz). The boba was perfectly cooked — not slimey but chewy, and fantastic. This place deserves every good review it gets.

Agree with the other reviews regarding their service; not the best and pretty slow most times. The drinks are good and they have a decent selection. I like the half coffee/half milk tea mix with bubbles. The bubbles are chewy and isn’t too sugary like most places. I really like the snack options they offer. Had the egg puffs and the spam musubi when I went. Would like to try the egg puff ice cream cones next time. Great location on Highland Ave. with street parking outside.

Not sure if it was an off day or something but the service at this place was terribly slow… We waited 20 minutes for a monkey king(milk) tea and two egg puffs(The place was pretty empty so it wasn’t because they were busy.) The milk tea was okay, had more of a tea taste and less sugar than most places, but they ran out of boba… As for the egg puffs, they ones we got were not cooked properly and the regular flavor was a bit tasteless; the taro was a bit better but still not cooked well. I would consider coming back here one more time to see if the service is better, and to try some of their other menu offerings(they have quite a lot actually.)

This place is too bomb! I fell in love right when I got inside. Their menu really stood out to me– so many good comfort snacks. I got the crab rangoons. It was definitely worth an extra .50 cents for it to be spicy. Got that and matcha egg puffs. Ooh the variety. Paired those with a Monkey King Tea, which is basically just their call on the classic milk tea. Yummmm The interior in here is also wicked cute. There’s a comfy couch to chillax and play Jenga while snacking! There’s free wifi and outlets to charge. Like wuhhhh? That’s what I call a perfect hangout spot. We got Patricia to take our order. She was totally nice and was really patient with us since we took a long time to order. There were just so many options. I have to come back to check those bacon tots out! 5⁄5 for sure

Well this place was an excellent surprise! A friend had recommended it to us, and we decided to take a chance when we are driving in the area when we can. Very small, but has a cool lounge hipster like vibe. I ordered a Thai tea with Boba. He got some yummy coconut type of thing with Boba. We are Boba freaks. Love them. Also got some crab Rangoon. They were out of the spicy version, so we got the regular. Probably the best we’ve ever had. Yes, really. We will definitely be back.

Food:(4 Stars) Taro Egg Puffs Came out nice and warm in a paper bag. When I opened the bag, a nice steamy sweet scent of browned egg puff wafted up. I could wait to get my hands into the bag and rip off a chunk of the egg puff to try. It wasn’t too hot so I was able to handle a few puffs out. The egg puff was soft in center but you can plainly tasted the subtle taro flavor mixed in with the regular egg puff flavor. It wasn’t too sweet which is always a plus in my book since some places go over board with sugar. Drink:(4 Stars) Dark Twister Sesame and Taro milk tea… delicious combo and was definitely a new experience for me since I’ve never had the two together. The flavors definitely went very well together and was very refreshing. I like the frappé style since it was perfect on the hot day I visited. Could use a bit more sesame powder though, that was the only thing lacking.
