Before meeting Lainee, I had no idea what a doula was. It was a word I heard my wife’s friends use when describing their labors. I was pretty much clueless.
We interviewed Lainee as a potential doula, and we thought she would be a great fit for us. We wanted someone who can walk along with us on our journey, coaching us, encouraging us along the way.
Lainee was all that could have asked for, from answering our calls at 3 AM when my wife’s contractions started kicking up, to her presence in the delivery room. With each contraction, with each push, Lainee never relented in her care for my wife. She was an advocate for both of us, whenever there was confusion or decisions that my wife needed to make.
I sincerely believe my wife’s labor and delivery would have been way more difficult without Lainee’s help. I highly recommend her if you are considering a doula for your labor/​delivery.

Lainee was my post-​partum doula (angel sent from heaven). We just had our first baby 3 months ago and don’t have family around. I had a longer recovery than I planned on and my fiancé was working tons.
Lainee came to my rescue and did things around the house that I wasn’t able to do, went grocery shopping, cooked for us, took care of the baby so I could shower, showed me how to use baby carrier, put together the swing and car seat, showed me how to bathe baby and how to soothe him, showed me how to use the breast pump and gave me tips about pumping.
I love researching and have read all the books but there’s something about having someone who is experienced (she has 4 of her own!) standing right next to you, walking you through it and just letting you know that you’re going to be okay. She didn’t just do things for me, she gave me the hands-​on education and confidence that I could do it after she left.
She has tons of energy and is hilarious and fun to be around. She was never condescending or bossy, she just helped me with whatever I needed. (I wouldn’t have guessed how much help I would need.) She’s like a girlfriend or sister without bringing any emotional baggage. :)
We’ve hired her again to teach us how to make baby food at home. I’ll update my review and let you know how it goes.
