The prime rib came out cold so I informed the manager, Ken, and he took care of the situation promptly. I was super impressed with the service and food was delicious!

Night started off great. We had reservations and were accommodated for our big party of 17. We come to mammoth every year and this year was special because it was a bachelor party. We wanted a nice dinner and great food. Unfortunately it was a disaster. I understand we are big party and it takes time. We ordered drinks and it took forever. We waited nearly over an hour for our food to arrive. What was upsetting was the manager did not walk by or say anything about the delay. The two staff members did their best to accommodate us. Mainly I’m writing about the fact that the manager didn’t do anything. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Probably at 40 percent capacity. At the end of the dinner we wanted just to leave and continue the night. FYI if your a big group looking for a great dinner don’t come here.

Our first visit here was over the top. We made a dinner reservation knowing there’s expected 15,000 over the weekend and we were promptly seated. We arrived early so a dirty goose martini sounded good and we enjoyed it with olives. The clam chowder is served nice and hot in a pewter pot. Ahi tuna, prosciutto wrapped salmon, sizzling mushrooms, scallops with wasabi mashed potatoes, and lava cake were delicious. Although the lava cake could’ve been more lava and hotter. Service is great. Nice ambiance. Great location.

10 years ago we visited this restaurant and had an amazing experience. We were very excited to try it again, but were very disappointed with our experience. The décor of the restaurant needs some serious updating. It’s probably the original décor from 20+ years ago. This translates somewhat to the food, with a very basic menu. Most of the items I could probably prepare better at home. The worst part of our meal was that my 6 year old daughter ordered the mac n cheese from the kids menu and they served her Kraft Mac n Cheese. $ 10 craft mac n cheese. My wife, said I cannot believe they served her Kraft and I said, there is no way. So we asked the waitress. Sure enough, Kraft. This is UNACCEPTABLE. We avoid all processed food in our family and going to a place like the Chart House you do not expect this. This says a lot about this restaurant and I am sure they are taking shortcuts on the rest of their ingredients and preparation. We will not be returning.

Probably the worst meal ever experienced at a «high end» restaurant. Though the clam chowder was good the Diner Burger was lousy, with shredded lettuce… the«prime rib» dip was almost inedible…

Very disappointing to come here tonight. The salad bar had not been replenished and had a paltry variety of offerings. Only one dessert on the menu. I want to hope this is because they’ve not yet geared up after so many struggling ski seasons. How much better the chain was when owned by its founder, Joey Cabell.

Amazing food! Came here for dinner with some friends for some seafood and we were all loving our dishes we ordered. The scallops dish with mashed potatoes and wasabi sauce was to die for! Had some Mahi Mahi with mango sauce, clam chowder, and chopped salad that was yummy! Dishes are very filling and plentiful. We also all shared the lava cake that was cooked to perfection. Prices are expensive, but if you are looking to splurge on a nice dinner, this is the place to come!

This is one of our favorite spots for dinner up in Mammoth. We always make it a point to visit at least once during our trips. Chart House never disappoints and honestly, the service is better than ever! The coconut shrimp appetizer is always a good starter. Their steaks are ridiculously good! My son is a fan of the chicken, while I always have fish. Don’t forget the delicious lava cake for dessert.

Wish I could review the food but after 30 minutes of waiting for my reservation all I’ve seen is casually empty tables. Unprofessional at best.

Came here for dinner with my boyfriend on a Friday night, and had a really great experience! We had Marvin as our waiter, and he was very nice and on top of things! They seated us by the fire which I highly recommend requesting. I ordered the fish and chips which which were delicious, and he had the macadamia shrimp which I heard was also very good! I definitely plan on coming back here!

I was dreading coming to this place since we didn’t have reservations for a party of 7 on a Monday night. It’s New Year Eve week so we figure it’ll be a long wait. Fortunately, it was half anhour wait only, unlike the 1 – 1.5 hr the hostess quoted. Right off the bat, our server, Ashley, was super sweet and cheerful. I must’ve asked for a million things throughout the course of dinner, and every time Ashley was awesome and attentive. Even if the food was blah I would’ve rated a 4 or 5 star for the wonderful service we were given. Thank you Ashley for making it a great evening for our family! As for food, we ordered two filet mignons, two shrimp garlic pasta dishes, one pecan crusted mahi mahi, the salmon and a kids burger. All the dishes were delicious, except for the kids cheeseburger. My 6 year old said it was too dry to eat. But my shrimp pasta dish was delectable. Cleaned up my plate, it was so yummy! My 8 year and MIL had the filets and both raved how great their dishes tasted! They cleared their plates too! Super tasty food but maybe not so for the kids dish. Overall, a truly wonderful experience thanks to mostly delicious food and superb service. Thank you again Ashley!

I received my annual birthday reward of $ 25 and decided to treat my daughter and myself to a meal out. The service was good, friendly, enthusiastic but occasionally felt forgotten, slow to bring water, had to ask for refill, bill was slow to be processed and wasn’t processed correctly the first time. The food was fantastic; filet mignon cooked to perfection and the shrimp artichoke pasta was flavorful and fresh. The featured wine, CARMELROADPINOTNOIR, MONTEREY, 2013, was a great recommendation and match to the filet mignon. To top it off I received a complementary slice of mudpie and whip cream ball. Very good. The problem comes from the building itself. The boiler is broken and won’t be repaired until after the first of the year. We were very cold throughout the entire meal. You are never notified of this and we discovered it for ourselves as we became more chilled throughout the meal. Mudpie when you’re freezing doesn’t work! Please go to the Chart House of Mammoth Lakes, but wait until AFTER the first of the year and make certain you check that the boiler is working! I will definitely return after the heat is back on.

When you ask the locals of a good place to eat in this quaint little community, you are most likely going to be directed to Chart House. From the outside, the simplistic design of this building blends pretty well with this Ski-Resort town, it’s when you get in that you know that you immediately get a sense that you’re not in Kansas anymore Dorothy… The place has an upscale feel, kind of a mix of modern contemporary country if there is even such a thing, the ambiance is almost intimate yet relaxed, white table cloths and gleaming utensils pretty much sets the tone of a fine dining experience about to happen. We started the night with wine, with the Shrimp & Artichoke Linguini already in mind for dinner, I opted for a glass of Pinot Gris, Chart House has an extensive selection of wine, I am sure that there will be something to satisfy your discriminating taste. For appetizers we ordered the Calamari and the Seared Pepper Ahi Tuna, The Calamari I have to say was a standout! prepared perfectly, tender not gummy! love the dipping sauce! yum! The Ahi Tuna was okay, served rare, if you are not big into rare or sashimi, you’ll really need your wasabi dipping sauce. For dinner, I had the Shrimp & Artichoke Linguini which was delish! Very hearty & filling, generous amount of grilled shrimp, tomatoes, artichoke hearts(?) and garlic! tossed with a generous amount of linguini, in herb butter sauce. I LOVE the sprinkle of feta cheese which goes really well with this hearty satisfying meal! For dessert… no questions asked… the CHOCOLATELAVACAKE. hands down! AMAZING! So RICH and divine… O.M.G! This dessert really corks up a very satisfying night! When in Mammoth this place is a must try if you want to indulge, it is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Delicious food, amazing waitstaff, squeaky-clean location… the perfect start of our vacation. Cheers!

Chart House Mammoth On a cold day I would say Chart House’s Clam Chowder does wonders! I go their Three Course meal for $ 27 — was not a bad deal considered the amount of food I got. STARTER– Clam Chowder– big portion– So bomb especially for a cold winter right after snowboarding! ENTRÉE — Macadamia Crusted Shrimp– It was crispy, big sized shrimps with the mango salsa! I wished that the salsa would be a little moist so the shrimps can absorb some of the flavor. But the string beans were on point DESSERT — OMG the mug pie! Even for a cold day they were yummy! It’s way smaller than the regular portion but after a big meal it’s the perfect size. Drinks — I would definitely take advantage of their happy hour menu And don’t forget to make a reservation!

I have to agree with the comments about terrible service and inconsistent food quality. Our waiter was just terrible. It started with the Happy Hour menus. We showed up at 6:30 on a a Monday night and the Happy Hour menus said Happy Hour happened until 7pm from Tuesday through Thursday nights. We were a bit confused and so was our server. Turns out it was their first Monday being open. We ordered a couple of apps and glasses of wine from the Happy Hour menu and even as I was saying that I would start with the white and move to a red, he poured the white for my husband and the red for me. It was almost comical. The apps; Lettuce Cups and Calamari came followed. The lettuce cups were almost unmanageable they were so large(and they were awful). The Calamari was so/so. We never did get that bread he promised us(several times). During our dinner order, he convinced us to order the typical chocolate lava cake that takes«30 minutes» to prepare. We decided to order one to split. We also ordered some more wine which took an eternity to show up. I ordered the Trout and my husband ordered some sort of Steak. Both of our main courses were quite good I must admit. As we finished dinner, he came by to ask us whether we wanted dessert… huh? We reminded him that he had convinced us to order the 30 minute to prepare lava cake. He said, «Oh, Yes… of course». They must have some extra, already prepared ones from the day before, because thats the one we got. It was crusty and old… terrible. As Grant S said, I’m going to have to agree. It will forever be known to me and G as the Shart House. Sadly. Too bad because there just aren’t that many nice places in Mammoth.
