I went to these folks due to an advanced case of periodontal disease exacerbated by diabetes. I received very in depth and advanced care. When I arrived, my teeth were loose, gums were bleeding, and it didn’t look like we could save the 4 upper row front teeth. It’s worth noting that I brushed and flossed consistently, 2 times per day, and my issue was not caused by neglect. It was caused by a painless deep gum infection that turned into disease, and could not heal due to the onset of type II diabetes. We didn’t even KNOW I was diabetic until the periodontal disease had taken root. They alerted me to the possibility of that, and as a result I asked my doctor to run the blood work and glucose tests. My glucose levels were 540 fasting, and 670 post meal. As a result we had to delay the oral surgery I needed until I was stable. It took some time to get there. How I kept going is a mystery, but now I have my health back, in full as a result of quality care from Contemporary Dentistry. I was carefully, and throughly advised throughout, and given EXCELLENT periodontal surgery that SAVED my teeth. Thank you Dr. Karen Sperling! I have been going to these folks for better than 5 years now, and can say with complete confidence that regardless of the type of care you need, you will find a caring staff who are competent and capable. From crowns and fillings, to root planing and advanced surgery… they get it done. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but frankly, it’s worth it. My case was not the typical case and they saved my teeth and gave me my dental health back. My only ding in the review is that they HAVE made a few billing mistakes which they DID address, and made right.

Don’t be duped! They will overcharge you, charge you for procedures you may or may not need done, will not give you your records unless you pay a fee of $ 25 and tell you that insurance covers procedures and when you receive a bill wondering why it wasn’t covered, they tell you to call your insurance company — not their problem. They also want to charge me for $ 1800 in fillings! Are you kidding me! I’m in my 50s. Who has that many cavities that has perfectly straight, beautiful white teeth??? In January of 2014, a different dentist told me I had no cavities. In November of 2014, I apparently now have $ 1800 worth!

I am a big fan of Contemporary Dentistry in Manassas. I called my old dentist yesterday because I had a broken tooth that needed repair ASAP. Well, to them ASAP meant 3 days. So I started calling around. When I called Contemporary Dentistry, the receptionist was very friendly and understood that I was in pain and needed to be seen right away. She fit me in the same day and told me that I could print the forms at home if I wanted to save time in the office (which I did).
The dental assistant, Patrice was kind and friendly. She took me back and did an x-​ray of my tooth while the dentist was finishing up with her last patient. By the time the x-​rays were done, the dentist was there. She introduced herself, looked at my x-​rays and gave me different options on how we could proceed.
Dr. B did an excellent job with my tooth. It took a few times to numb me up, but by the time I was fully numbed, I didn’t feel a thing.
I will be transferring my entire family’s dental charts to Contemporary Dentistry. I was impressed with their speed, friendliness, and prices.
