Moved back down here from upstate NY. Had been in search for that one person who could cut my hair just like back home. I was lucky enough to have Caitlyn as my stylist. Listened to every nit-​picky request I had and made it ten times better. As long as I live in Philadelphia I’ll be going here. Beer with the cut is also a plus!

Got a cut here yesterday from Patti. My hair is really tough to work with since it is really thick Asian hair. It seemed to me this is more of a medium to high end hair stylist place for men and less of a barber shop. Which is probably something I should have dug into a little bit more.
The cut was $ 35 and comes with a prewash shampoo, conditioner, head massage, and a hot towel post cut.
They ladies did a good job in taking care of me. Patti did a great job in thinning out my hair. I’m satisfied with the cut and would recommend others to check it out if they are looking for more of a stylist.
Parking sucks around here so either park further away for some free parking on the street or get lucky to get a meter. Quarters are 15 mins per.

Constantly get great service and a great cut. WELL worth the price! One of the saddest parts about leaving the Manayunk area is not having a consistently good stylist/​barber. Clearly one of the best places in Philadelphia to get a hair cut.

My best guy friend finally decided to invest in a better haircut place (after my convincing. They give beer during haircuts!). He has been going here for a few months and loves it. Most recently he has been seeing Caitlyn and he looks great. I think this is the first time in his life that he enjoys his monthly trim!

Got my hair but by, I think her name was Katelyn, I’m not sure. But she was wonderful. Got the best haircut of my life and I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. The shop was great, the staff was friendly, and the location was convenient. Loved it.

Very relaxing atmosphere where guys can go have a beer or glass of wine and relax while getting shampooed (with a scalp massage) and an AWESOME haircut. The girls are all friendly and beautiful, I personally go to Caitlyn and will never let anyone else touch my hair again, she’s perfection! You also get free clean-​ups in between cuts. Highly recommend checking this place out and I highly recommend requesting Caitlyn!

I’ve had some pretty darn great stylists do my hair. But it was not until I relocated to Manayunk (which is pretty dull, and people don’t dress well here) and stumbled into Style of Man that I felt my head become a canvas, which was being crafted into a piece of art by the lovely Natalia.
The rest of the staff was also quite pleasant and aided in creating the perfect experience. I don’t throw the word ‘perfect’ around. I don’t usually write reviews. But yeah, I’m impressed, it means a lot because I know what I’m talking about. Go there. Live well.

Service from some staff members has dropped off (won’t name names and don’t know why) but the end result is my sticking with Jen at this location who I know will leave my very opinionated head of hair guaranteed happy with a cut or clean-​up. Consistency is key when it comes to haircuts, I think (who wants a surprise when they look in the mirror?) and I know Jen’s going to do a perfect job of giving me what I want — and that’s worth another note here on Unilocal.Go to Jen and go home happy.

I’ve been coming here for almost a year now and don’t see myself trying to find anyplace else anytime soon.
Everyone here is super friendly and wants to make sure you’re comfortable. Usually this means a beer while I wait and something on TV to watch. No matter what though, it’s followed by a great shampoo. It might as well be called a scalp massage and afterwards I’m always ready for my haircut.
I’ve been going to the same stylist for my time with Style of Man and since day one she’s been able to give me just the haircut I want.
Also, I can’t beat working just a couple minutes away so it’s super easy to pop in every few weeks. Overall Style of Man is just what I’d want in a «salon for men.»

I’ve been getting my hair cut at places like the Hair Cuttery and Great Clips for most of my adult life. I have thick, fairly curly hair that refuses to be tamed; so for the longest time I resigned myself to very short clipper-​cuts because I could never find a stylist that could make anything attractive out of my hair.
Then I found Charlie at Style of Man in Manayunk. You see, I go through these phases when I don’t bother getting my hair cut for several months, and it usually looks like Sylvester Stallone’s in Rocky 2, or Zack Galafinakis’s Hang Over. I asked Charlie if she could do anything with it, and I came out looking like a GQ model! Well, from the forehead up anyway. I’ve been going to her for six months now and have never been happier with my hair. Plus you get a shampoo/​scalp massage, and Charlie even shaves the back of my neck when it needs it!
Every guy should go here. Don’t forget to ask for Charlie!!!

Excellent service, by a very proffessional staff. The stylists are talented and personable, the prices are reasonable ($ 35 for a haircut with wash), and the woman who washes your hair gives you a 5 minute scalp massage that is capible of reducing stress even on the worst work days.
At this point, I have been getting my haircut by the same stylist here for over four years, and have only cheated on her a handful of times; always with the same result: I come back looking like my head got in a fight with a buzz saw. It’s by far the longest relationship I’ve ever had with a woman.
