It’s really sad that this place is only open till’ 2:00PM because they’re food and service were both so delicious! Our waitress,(i forgot her name) was such a sweetheart and was on top of all guests including me and my boyfriend. It was very comforting. The food was fantastic and the coffee as well was delicious! Definitely one of the best breakfast spots in Manchester!

Coffee is superb! Omlette was a little too fluffy for me, but everything else was great!

I came up in the snowstorm to Manchester from Boston for a meeting that was cancelled close to downtown. Being in the car for a long time and missing breakfast I searched for places close to downtown. Seeing a few positive reviews of Chestnut Café I decided to give it a go and I am glad I did. This place is a hidden gem, I wish I could have stayed for lunch or dinner. Both the waitress and cook were extremely friendly. I ordered the belly buster which includes 3 eggs, a half ham steak, 2 sausages, 1 pancake, 1 french toast, hash browns, and 2 pieces of toast. Coffee was hot, and price was low considering the portions are so large. When I asked for orange marmalade the waitress gave me some of their homemade marmalade. It was SO good. Can’t wait to go back. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Stopped in for breakfast. The food was very good. I had two eggs with toast and hash browns and a side of cornbeef hash. I also had the signature chestnut Coffee, very good. No complaints at all about the food or the service, the staff was exceptionally friendly. There are only a couple things that keep this from being 5 star. The menu is very small and the front door opens right into the dining room sending a cold blast of air anytime people come and go.

I came In on a Sunday morning extremely hungry by myself. It’s on the corner of the street so you won’t miss it. The location has parking along the streets as well as next to the restaurant. Upon entering you’ll notice the place is small but not too small. Decent size to fit a full house. staff are extremely friendly and the vibe is great! I sat at the bar since I was by myself and the chef looks like he enjoys his job. Overall experience was great, the prices are what brought me here and the food is amazing!

Opened a business near by so I popped in for something to go. The burger was fresh and the meatloaf was delicious. I am so glad I have somewhere affordable to go close by.

Wanted to take the family out to brunch and went to IHOP for breakfast. The place was severely packed and on a hunch looked up this restaurant and went. What a great treasure and find. Very nice décor and atmosphere. Family owned restaurant, your waitress whose name is Sofia. very sweet. A very old nostalgic home feeling. The food was a bit long of a wait because of only one cook but it was worth the wait excellent, excellent! Will definitely go there again. The prices were very reasonable with a great deal of food. Even the co owner of the restaurant would ask as patrons left how their dining experience was, very elegant very quaint, and actually cared about service and customer satisfaction.

We stopped in for breakfast while in Manchester N.H. and we’re pleased with the service and meal. Donna our waitress was friendly and efficient. I had an egg white western omelet, which had plenty of ham and the potatoes were also tasty. My wife had the special, that had a good serving of ham and potatoes. We’d stop by again if in Manchester again.

Excellent, fresh to order food at a very reasonable price served in a small New England type café in the downtown district. I was pleasantly surprised by the numerous breakfast special options and of course the standard fare… several fresh baked goods are also available. I went with the steak omelet… which includes an extensive list of omelet fillings/toppings(24 listed) to choose from… list of toppings exceeds«buffet» type places that charge twice the price. A 5 topping omelet with hash browns(fresh potatoes fried nugget style) and toast was $ 7.95…coffee(3+ brews available) $ 1.99. Service was outstanding. 7 Bar stools, a couple of 6 tops and a few 4 tops comprise the dining area. Wifi, free parking, charming/local feel… far better than any chain type breakfast place… Highly Recommend!

What a lovely, comfortable and clean café with plenty of reading material and toys and coloring to keep kids busy, if you have any with you. Service was fast but waitress made us feel rushed when we unfamiliar with the menu; since we have never been and very rude even if not intentional. They had many different flavor coffee options either hot or iced. I decided on the roasted chestnut iced coffee and yes it tasted flavored but couldn’t actually identify that it was indeed chestnut. My friend said the same with her hot coffee. They had daily specials with a couple of breakfast specials and the remainder were lunch specials. I decided on the garden omelette and it came out nice and fluffy not at all dry. It had the veggies in the center such as: zucchini, roasted red peppers, broccoli, onions and peppers. I prefer omelets that are made with everything mixed in but with this omelette you can’t complain… so good. It came with toast, home fries which was nothing special. I ordered a side of bacon, that tasted great but I would have liked it crispier.

We went for breakfast today and really enjoyed it! The waitress was welcoming and attentive. We went on a Sunday aroung noon. They had another table sat and 4 guests at the countertop. I had the omelette of the day which was eggplant, broccoli, and cheese. It came with homefries and toast. I chose the oat nut bread. It was delicious. There was a nice ripe strawberry fruit garnish. I added a side of the Applewood smoked bacon to my meal. I highly recommend having an omelette here. I really enjoyed the combo they had in the daily special. On the table, I later saw a make your own omelette or crêpe options that wasn’t on the menu. When the food arrived, the waitress automatically brought over 2 bottles of hot sauce without needing to ask. I appreciated that as I love hot sauce. My boyfriend planned on breakfast but after we were shown the lasagna(additional daily special) that had just came out of the oven, he opted for that. It was delicious. It had meatballs in it and came with tasty garlic bread. The prices here are extremely affordable given the quality and quantity of the food. The chef came out to chat with us after we finished eating. He was very nice and seemed to really want to know our thoughts on the food he cooked for us. We’re looking forward to going back many times! We took a grilled orange cranberry muffin and 2 cookies to go. We enjoyed them as well.

This place is a little gem in Manchester, very good food and VERY reasonable prices. The staff is very nice and my son was sick and unfortunately vomited and they were right there to clean it up. I told them I would clean it and they insisted that they would while I took my son to the bathroom. We went on Easter Sunday and there buffet they had had prime rib. I did not get the buffet but the meat lovers omlette with home fries and toast was worth the $ 7.95. My kids had french toast and pancakes which was light and fluffy. They don’t have a kids menu but the make it work when they see young ones. The chestnut coffee was great and the whole meal was $ 21.00. I gave a good tip because of what happened with my son but honesty I probably would of gave the same amount if it didn’t happen. There was no wait at all and they also garnish the plates with strawberries and cantaloupe slices which were very fresh. The portions are very big and you will walk out with full and satisfied. If your looking for a good breakfast I suggest you try out this place. The menu isn’t that big but lets face it all breakfast menu’s are the same and they will make you what you want.

Chestnut’s Café(formerly Beanstalk’s Café, Chestnut Street Downtown Diner, and City Flame Smokehouse) opened very recently at the corner of Chestnut Street and Manchester Street across from the former Police station. This cozy and casual city restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch. The dining room has table seating and counter seating with stools. The kitchen and grill area is visible from the dining room. The menu offerings served here are streamlined and the prices here are pretty reasonable, most items under $ 10. Breakfast offerings include eggs, pancakes, French toast, home fries, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast meats, muffins, bagels, and other sides. The lunch offerings include salads, soup, sandwiches(with kettle chips & pickle), wraps, fries, onion rings, slaw, and kids menu items. There are also special offerings posted on the board, though they did run out of fish & chips recently. Before going to work, I stopped in at Chestnut’s Café for breakfast on a very snowy morning. Their small off-street parking lot needed a good plowing. I was the first customer of the day, just after 7AM. I started out with fresh brewed coffee($ 0.99 on special) and ordered the Breakfast Sandwich with Home Fries($ 4.95). I also read the Union Leader while sipping the hot coffee, brewed just right. The sandwich and home fries came out promptly. The sandwich had a fried egg with cheese(American) and thick chewy slices of Danish ham between 2 slices of multigrain toast. The fresh cut potatoes(home fries) were lightly grilled and seasoned, garnish of fresh strawberry & blueberries on lettuce on the side. I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The service was quick and friendly and I was given more refills on the coffee and also offered a to go cup for more coffee if I wanted(I was all set after 3 cups). I would definitely return again to try out the lunch items and see the menu evolve with more items offered(omelets, waffles, seafood dinners, etc). Also, they have a coffee club card, buy 5 coffees and get one free.

Great breakfast and lunch place in downtown Manchester. The food is fresh, prices are reasonable, and good sized portions. I’ve been there several times for both lunch and breakfast and always been very pleased.
