Afsaneh Matin, DDS

Came here for my son’s first dentist appointment. She is a nice person but she looked in my son’s mouth for all of 30 seconds and applied a fluoride treatment (10 seconds). I spoke to three other friends with toddler when I got home and the all said their appointments (with other dentist) were literally just like an adult cleaning! Scraping, brushing, fluoride, etc… very thorough cleaning!
She also only sees patient on Friday and Saturday. Plus her receptionist asked me to move out of the lobby when I started to nurse.
I will not be going back.

Wow what a great experience with Dr. Matin and her assistant Rico! My kids can be very shy and they are difficult when they are shy but she got my son so comfortable that he wanted to listen to what they needed him to do. Great clean office. My original appt was for May but I called because my son fell and his gums and teeth looked really bad and they were able to take him in to look at him. They also ended up doing his cleaning and x rays too. Great care and patience with my son and I only have good things to say about her and her assistant!!!

Fantastic Dr and staff! Dr Matin is really down to earth & takes the time to explain what’s going on and what’s needed. Thanks to her my 7 year isn’t scared of the dentist!

Fantastic pediatric dentist. Our two kids 7,8 actually enjoy their dental visits. She is both gentle and patient and we couldn’t be happier to have found her. The office is also located in downtown MB. So there is plenty of parking near by.

Wonderful and patient dentist ~ Dr. Matin! Took my 23 mo old for her first dental visit and it was a success. Dr. Matin was all smiles as was her staff. Exuded patience and calm. While there is another pediatric dentist in our neighborhood, I chose Dr. Matin’s office b/​c it is a smaller and more intimate office. Not chaotic and over the top with toys, stimulation etc. Her office is very clean and modern. And she and staff did everything to make my daughter feel comfortable, as well as a positive and fun experience. They even took time to blow bubbles to make her feel at ease. So if you’re looking for a caring, knowledgeable, patient, positive, professional dentist and front and back office staff, then she is it! So thrilled to have found Dr. Matin.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!
As a pediatric physician myself, I have worked with Dr. Matin for several years before she opened up practice in Manhattan Beach. Since I live there, I couldn’t be happier to hear she opened up shop there. I immediately started taking my three young children to her. Of all the subspecialty pediatric doctors I’ve worked with, she was always one of the few who stood out in how much they cared about their patients’ wellbeing. My three kids, aged 3,5 and 10, all love her, and they normally hate going to see any doctor. They even ask about when they can go back, which is stunning to me. Clinically, she is an outstanding dentist, and honest to a fault. Her prices are very reasonable, and she deserves every penny.
She also works with Carmen Castillo, DDS, out of the same office, who is an adult dentist, and whom I’ve been going to for several years. She too, is awesome. Their office is very nice, modern, and most importantly, very mellow.
As an MD and a patient, I highly and unequivocally recommend both.
