We stopped in the this place after reading the reviews. The atmosphere on a Tuesday afternoon wasn’t bad. The Philly cheese steaks and onion rings were pretty good as well. Nice tap beer selection. The waitress could have been a little more attentive for a slow time, but her good attitude made up for it.

After the stressful morning, grabbed Mom and on the recommendation of a friend, we stopped in for some much needed grub. Mom is trying the Ultimate Philly Cheese with onions and bell peppers. I wanted a Bacon Cheese Burger. Its a lil odd to walk into a bar in the middle of the work day but was cool. Nice relaxed place with ac pumping to keep you cool from the heat outside. Plently of flat screens to watch and the lady working the bar was nice and friendly. Too bad it isn’t 5 o’clock or we could make better use of the bar. In any event, the place is very chill and relaxed hole in the wall place. Moms Philly was very tasty and blazin hot off the grill. Tender meat… well seasoned. The fries were nice and crispy. My burger was good but moms Philly kinda wrecked my food. I should have ordered one for me. Hahaha… good lookin out Luke.

This bar is hidden in plain sight. I passed by it so many times and never knew it was there. I even almost missed it while I was looking for it. As I walked in all I could see were TVs everywhere like it was a buffalo wild wings. This was awesome because I was catching drinks with a friend while watching the NBA playoffs. I was greeted quickly and promptly by the bartender. He allowed me and my friends to have drinks, eat, and our own privacy while there but consistently checked on us to ensure we were doing all right– great job. The drinks were hearty portions and when we got hungry we ask for recommendations on food. They had a noted sign on the menu above their Philly cheesesteaks that said they were world-famous. I decided I have to taste anything that someone would label as well famous. When the Philly cheesesteaks came out it looked pretty authentic. The bartender told us that it was the same recipe and ingredients that the owner use when he originally open up the bar about 25 years ago. I thought to myself it has to be pretty authentic to last 25 years and be good enough to come from Philly right? When I took my first bite I realized this Philly cheesesteak was the real deal, and my friends agreed. We both happily ate all of the Philly cheesesteak and agreed we would definitely come back for more food and drinks. As the night came to an end the bartender personally introduced himself and struck up conversation with us. Turns out he was a bartender there for some years and in 2010 bought out the original owner and has been renovating and updating the bar ever since. We both agreed he’s doing a great job and promised to come back and visit him and the bar again. If you’re looking for a great bar that you can go with friends to, your significant other, or your family then this is the place in the Beach cities. I honestly don’t know why it doesn’t have more notoriety. Regardless I definitely will be back

Great place but no kidding on the age group. My buddy said instead of Grunions the name should be“Bunions”…

Every time I took my Toyota for service at Manhattan Beach Toyota I stared longingly at Grunions. Finally decided to drop in for a beer, super glad I did! Extremely nondescript on the outside, just a plain gray building with a red sign. So nondescript, in fact, I drove past it and had to loop around the block again to find it. Just a solid, neighborhood bar with good food and fair prices. They pour fantastically proper pints of Guinness, and the prices for Maker’s Mark are EXTREMELY reasonable. Had the pork chop special and it was delicioso. Friendly service where the bartender knows many of the customer’s names. Great place.

I’ve been coming here since I was really young and she always brings me a HUGE mason jar of iced tea which I down in 5 sec… along with extra seasoning for my fries(which she gives me in advance), she is so awesome and a huge reason why me and my family continuously return to Grunions! Great Sports Bar, in fact the best place to watch any game in the South Bay! If you can hang with the best crowd, die-hard fans over 50, you’re in. Grunions has great food too!

The potato soup was really bland and didn’t have any potatoes in it. However the blackened chicken sandwich was delicious! Omg one of the best I’ve had. It comes with mayo though and it’s not on the menu on make sure to say something if you’re like me and hate mayo. They put my Royals game on and the staff was very nice. Even the cook came out and was friendly. I will continue to come back.

Great local sports bar with ample TVs and large circular bar. Friday night got packed because of a baseball team and a large birthday party. Robert(owner) was the only guy working the bar with at least 100 people drinking. He didn’t miss a beat with anyone and still had the time to see how we were doing. This guy sets the standard and was busting his *ss! He is a great guy too! The crowd is mostly locals with the median age around 50 or so. We had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich with shoestring fries which were good. Mice amount of meat and cheese on sandwich. Wife had chicken penne pasta that she liked as well. We also had a fried zucchini sticks that were beer batter. These were cut fresh and NOT frozen. They were great! Grunions is really what a local sports bar should be. Great people, great drink, great food and great times!

We went here on a Sunday night around 6 pm with around more than 20 people in our group. I called ahead to see if they can accommodate us and they said yes. We were seated on 6 different tables and there were 2 servers. With all the different orders they duplicated one table and didn’t get our orders in. Jessica our server was really kind enough to not have us pay since we got the order that was duplicated and not what we ordered. We waited for around 1 hour as well with the other tables almost finishing their food. They handled it very well but I hope they will be prepared next time. The cheese steak wasn’t that great, but I like the wings from the combo platter that we got from the duplicated order.

I came in on a Sunday nite around 7:00pm. It was a little slow but the bartender greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. He was friendly and got my drink super speedy. I’m a beer and a shot kinda gal, so I watched some hockey(to bad it wasn’t a Predators game, my home team!) while I enjoyed the laid back energy. I’d defiantly stop back in if in in the area. Any place that has Mangers in stock gets an A+ in my book!

This was a great place. Fun atmosphere and great food. Server was very nice and willing to go extra lengths to make sure I was happy. The ceiling tiles are cool and a nice touch to a local bar. I’ll definitely will be back for more

It’s a little difficult to spot if you don’t know where it is on this busy street. But once you find it though, it’s a cool little spot watch games. The owner, who also works the bar, is cool and attentive. I came here on opening day and it was pretty packed. Parking is in the back.

I came here with my dad and his friend a few days ago and had a nice experience. Parking is a little bit tight, but that’s pretty much the only negative I have about this place. My dad’s friend is a regular here and knows everyone on staff. They are all extremely friendly and welcoming. They have about ten flat screen TVs spread out across the bar, which is great because you can see a game from no matter where you’re sitting. On the particular day we came, the Dodgers were playing and there were tons of fans there, cheering and having a good time. I don’t personally drink much, so I don’t have a lot to say about the drinks here — the only thing I could really tell is that they had a decent amount of beers on tap. I tried the chili cheese fries and they were pretty good. They definitely had a nice kick to them! I will definitely return here, maybe for the next football or hockey game!
