I’m a stylist in ct… Had my hair cut in LA BY KASAI… It was the best cut I have ever had and it lasted 6 months!

Kasai’s hair cuts are the absolute best ! While a little spendy, they last several months. The styling after is really good too.

Jun has been taking care of my hairstyle and I totally rely on him whenever I am in LA!

It is my second time cutting my hair at kasai with Ty and he has an amazing sense of style to see what suits you as an individual. He helped me fix up a bad haircut I got and now it looks perfect!

Kasai is a master stylist, yet very kind and down-​to-​Earth. He asked about my lifestyle and chose a hairstyle that suits my preference for natural-​looking «wash & go» hair since most days I’d rather just run a brush through it and head out the door. My hair usually cooperates except it has slight natural waves only on one side of my head. Weird, I know.
I was asked to stand up a couple of times during the styling, which made sense — to see how my hair moves and to cut it in proportion to my (lack of) height.
Kasai was working on another client at the same time as well but I never felt neglected or rushed. The session was well coordinated as Alma gave me a shampoo and relaxing head massage and also started to blow dry my hair.
It was interesting watching Kasai work. Truly a skillful artist. He listens to you and explains in great detail how he plans to help your hair look healthy and with a style that suits your personality. Then he executes your style with precision (like Edward Scissorhands only Kasai is much more friendly and approachable).
Kasai is generous in offering tips to maintain or change up your look. He said my cut should last up to four or five months (!!!) and that I could increase the volume for special occasions with the use of Japanese hair rollers and a blow dryer. Also –and this is the best part: his regular clients are offered free bang trims! Just drop by or make an appointment with a stylist. Very cool.
Everyone at the salon made me feel welcomed and pampered. The salon itself is clean and beautifully modern. They offer a free discount rewards card too.

Only issue I had was I asked for a men’s haircut from a stylist priced at $ 45, and was told it was $ 70 when I was checking out. No idea why this was and no explanation was given.

There is no finer master of haircutting than Kasai. He is a world traveler, cutting hair in New York, San Francisco and beyond. Kasai ‘s availability at his namesake salon is excellent and prices are very reasonable. More importantly, Kasai is precise and listens to my preferences. I have difficult hair and I always leave my appointment looking sharp! I have received many compliments on my hair and I have Kasai to thank!

Recently, I woke up to the realization that my hair was an utter mess. I’d let it go too long and I needed help – fast! I found Kasai Hair on Unilocal,called them, and got an appointment with Amy. What I also got was a fantastic, skilled, utterly gorgeous haircut, and I had the best time, to boot! I love how I look and the haircut is growing in amazingly. That, to me, is the sign of a great haircut. How does it look three weeks later? Thanks to Kasai Salon, I still look wonderful. What a find!

I’ve been going Maica for color for a long and have always loved my color and had no problems until recently. I was told she was no longer working there and no would tell where she was at. I was recommended to another colorist at the salon «BIG MISTAKE», not only was my color awful but so was the condition of my hair after the color service. I will never go back there for color. Luckily I recently found out Maica is down the street at Bob Roy Salon. I am so relieved to have found her again take my word do not let any one at Kasai touch your color you will be totally disappointed and upset. I don’t know what happen but the n the quality of service isn’t the same.

I have been coming here for almost a year and Kasai is a truly gifted artist. He knows exactly how to style hair to bring out a persons most complimentary features.
He has mastered the art of cutting hair and more importantly is a kind and caring person.
The whole staff in their Manhattan Beach location is friendly and welcoming. Worth every penny to get an awesome haircut, great service in a clean, enjoyable environment!

First I would like to say this is the cleanest salon I have ever been in. It is beautiful and it has an outdoor sitting area which is just as pretty as the inside ***Great spot to receive your Brazilian blow outs. Christopher David is my stylist he is amazing! Perfect cut & color every time!!! I have long hair and I like to keep it that way. I have been to other salons with other stylists where I have asked for 2 inches to be cleaned up at the bottom & they take off 4 – 5 inches without asking me or showing me why they felt the need to do that. Christopher explains everything in fine detail & does not move forward with a service without consent. He is an awesome person that really cares about his clients & his work. Kasai has a great team of people working for him as well, everyone is so nice. ** coffee is delicious here too, extremely fresh & yummy!

I’ve gone to Jun for 7 years, because he was great at creating movement in my long thick straight hair, but I’ll never go back after what happened yesterday. I’ve always tipped him over 40%, and recommend friends and family to Jun because of how detail orientated and methodical he used to be. I never went to anyone except him for haircuts because I trusted him to make me look great, not only that but he gave the best scalp massages while shampooing my hair and the bests blow dry I’d ever had.
But yesterday he BUTCHERED my hair. It’s completely uneven, I even found a couple hairs that were 4 inches longer than the rest. He didn’t shampoo or blow dry my hair like he normal does, instead having someone else help him. And barely spent anytime cutting it, hence its way shorter than I wanted or asked for and, despite the fact that he refused to give me some face framing layers that I asked for to soften the look, it’s very uneven. Oh and icing on the cake? He raised his prices, which I actually wouldn’t have minded it the quality of service remained the same, but I barely made it home before bursting into tears.
I scheduled an appointment with someone who isn’t an hours drive away from me to hopefully salvage the damage Jun did to my hair.

Looks like I got a somewhat new hairstylist… And two bad appointments. A month ago I went in for a single-​process to cover they gray. I have dark brown hair. The stylist offered a conditioning treatment. Something went wrong during the coloring process. When he went to wash my hair, he wound up taking a long time in the sink with other coloring products and an additional 20 minutes processing happened in the sink. At this point I ran out of time to get the conditioning treatment and I asked that he cancel it. Long story short, he charged me for it any way and gave me the product to apply at home. It didn’t take long to realize that he has lifted the color while covering gray, giving my roots a reddish tint.
The only reason I went back was on the strength of previous good reviews of this salon by other Unilocalers. Maybe my stylist had a bad day. Second visit I had scheduled base plus highlights. I got cold feet on highlights because of the botched base experience that had left my roots red. He was visibly upset. Recommended Brazilian blow-​out because my hair looked frizzy. His assistant had just combed out my curly hair, so it was poofy. My hair is not frizzy. After the color I got guilted into a haircut. Although repeatedly I explained how I want my layers cut, he went ahead and did the uncreative basic layering that cuts the sides short (called «layers») and leaves the back long (called «length»). I protested, and he argued the whole time. It was pointless. I got a horrible haircut, now I have to get 3 inches taken off the «length,» as I am left with a 3″ tail in the back.
In my 49 years on this planet I’ve had many haircuts by many stylists. I’ve paid up to $ 700 for a haircut. I’ve had my hair cut dry, upside down, twisted, you name it. This man only knows the beauty school basics. And he kept trying to school me. That was probably the worst part of this experience. The man wouldn’t listen. He wouldn’t back down. Treated me like this is my first haircut ever. He mentioned that my hair is frizzy numerous times and put down the cut I had received previously by asking, «when was the last time someone cut your hair?»
Shame on his salon for allowing this stylist to be a part of their team. Never going back. I’ve already had 3 local friends comment negatively about this cut and suggest that I cut off the «tail.» Rude, entitled, untalented. Botched color, charged for service he didn’t render (but gave me the product to use at home), and now a horrible cut which will cost me 3 inches of length.

Kasai is the best stylist I have ever had and the only one who has ever left me with a truly good hair cut. He is extremely professional.

I have this theory for that every amazing haircut you get in your life that you are collecting a bad one that will sneak up on you at an unexpected time! However, after my first trip to Kasai, I’m feeling like my theory might be bogus.
I will admit that I was the only blonde in the salon and that can be a little unnerving when you are there to get a fresh highlight. However, I was placed in the very capable & thoughtful hands of Synneve (pronounced Sin-​ah-​va). She knows her blondes & spent extra time on my haircut. I love the attention to detail that she showed and my blonde is bright and natural. Although I’ve been a loyal customer at another neighboring salon for the past 3 years, my allegiances have changed now that I found Synneve!
It also doesn’t hurt that the space is gorgeous, clean and has a great ambiance. The beautiful patio & open doors make it feel like an oasis. Highly recommended :)

At Kasai Hair Manhattan Beach, it took a year to complete to create my hair style. It takes time and but worth it!!! Worth to listen to his advice! His haircut technique is excellent. He has many celebrities as his clients but he is not snobby at all. Even my daughter little Emma doesn’t wanna go to other hair salons.
