Lots of oil, lots of flavor, lots of pasta, not a lot of vegetables.

Many surprises came from this review. I was surprised that this place doesn’t have a Unilocal review, seeing as it’s been around for awhile now. But more importantly, I was surprised with how decent the food was. Maybe I should have expected something delicious from the Kwik mini-empire, but too many half-cooked and then finished pasta meals was holding my brain back. I guess when in doubt, trust a good chef. I had the penne with meat sauce. First the bad. The sauce was a little on the watery side. And the pasta was a little bit al dente for my taste, though I know there are a lot of people who prefer this. The good makes up for it though. The sauce was tasty. And interesting. It sort of combined Middle Eastern spices with Italian spices. Surprisingly successful. Despite it looking small-ish, the meal was filling too. Even the bread, which looked like a random toss-in was pretty soft. I’m not sure who came up with the idea for this, but it was good, and worth checking out.
