Madison Cleaners

The people who run this place are super friendly and nice — they very quickly learned my name and always remembered me without even needing my ticket.
However, that doesn’t make up for the fact that they are consistently incompetent. They apparently outsource their laundry service and when clothing has gone missing or is not returned on time, they commiserate with you as though they are disappointed as well.
The have repeatedly failed to have clothing done on time and often tell you that same day laundry is not available.
After missing and late clothes happened too many times, the friendly customer service was no longer enough to keep me coming back.

I don’t even live in the neighborhood, but the guys working at Madison Cleaners treated me so kindly I know I’ll be back!
A button had fallen off my coat earlier in the day — even though it had been sewn on again and again by cleaners in Astoria, but alas, it would never stay. Frustrated, as I was walking to the subway after running errands in the East Village, I decided to pop in to just ask how much it would be for them to perhaps fix my button and see if they could do same-​day service. (Believe it or not, in Astoria, I have to leave it for a few days!)
Without missing a beat, the guy working the desk immediately started pulling threads to match my blue coat, got a needle and went to work. At that same time, the owner stopped in too — and he even got in on the action (It’s a tricky button!).
Within minutes, my coat was all sewn up! They declined accepting payment, but I left a nice tip in appreciation. Would definitely travel back — even just for button repair.

Very nice employees who are flexible and willing to make your laundry experience seamless. I used their service for the first time today and will most definitely return!

Awesome service! I wasn’t able to pick up my clothes on Saturday (they’re closed on Sunday) and I was about to go out of town for a long time. The guys there personally delivered my clothes and left it at my apt for me so I could get my clothes before going away.
Service is also very quick. I get my laundry done here and everything is folded perfectly and smells nice.

Do not go here and expect to have your clothing back on time. Very nice guys that run it but can no longer trust them. I live around the corner and on three separate occasions they have failed to deliver on the date in which the clothes were promised.
I highly suggest you consider other cleaners if you are servicing an important garment or something you need by a certain date.

Very glad to have this excellent addition to the East Village wash’n’fold scene. Went searching after some good years after I started to realize that my old cleaners didn’t seem to send things back clean. RJ and Louis seem to really care about doing a fabulous job — and took the time to make sure it was done right. Friendly and professional.

Just had our first job done by Madison Cleaners — a tuxedo, tux shirt, silk dress, and men’s slacks, and we are very pleased with the result. RJ was very helpful over the phone, and we were able to get our items back on time (very important, given that we needed them for a wedding overseas and didn’t realize we needed them until the last minute). We will surely use Madison Cleaners again!

RJ is a man of his word. He always sticks to deadlines and is there to help with a rush job.
