With regards to food trucks, I like to be adventurous and try new ones often. But getting outside your comfort zone and trying a new truck that just parked outside your work has some risks. This food truck specializes in «Moroccan» food if you can even call it that. Looks a bit American to me, with all their burgers. It’s been weeks since I’ve seen them on the block. But, lines are never that long. Sweet, I will get my meal quick., I thought. Perhaps I spoke too soon. I got their chicken Dijon platter that came with mushroom sauce, basmati rice, beets, and some lettuce The only thing worth praising are the beets; they were sweet. But, that’s a problem when I start praising the vegetables and not the chicken and rice dish itself. The mushroom sauce wasn’t really there. Granted, I told them to pour a lot of hot sauce and even though it seemed they did, I think they may have diluted the sauce! I did not sweat, feel euphoric, or shout for joy(my reactions of spicy food). More like disappointed. The chicken was luke-warm at best. Come on, heat it up! The chicken was really dry and tasted like it was soaked in water for some time and didn’t taste grilled. I felt like I was eating a microwavable lunch. Funny thing though, I’ve had better microwavable lunch(Love FreshDirect!) The rice? Soggy and didn’t have that fresh aroma /spices usually associated with basmati rice. Doesn’t Basmati mean«fragrant.?» Couldn’t smell it here. The Moroccan ice tea was a bit disappointing too. I got sweetened and I expected perhaps a more thorough blend. Instead, it was inconsistent, with grains of sugar floating around. You want good Moroccan tea? Try Café Mogador at St. Marks Place. The place has potential but they really need to step it up, especially with all these food trucks competing against one another. For chicken and rice, I will continue to support the local non gourmet truck that gives me a hot satisfying lunch, for only $ 5. No frills but sometimes less is more and simple is better.

I agree. This was not a good food truck experience. The meat tasted like it had been frozen and freezer burned. I’ve also tried the veggie burger and it was just ok; I had to heat it up when I got back to the office because it was not fully heated through. I will not be eating here again.

I just realized that I needed to move this review to the real name of this truck, «Marrakech Chefs». Which I just did. I waited in line to place my lunch order at this food truck outside of my office today with much anticipation. My colleague got the veggie burger and I the beef platter with couscous. Both dishes were utterly. totally. inedible and had to be thrown away after a bite. My beef had dirt in it, but even if it hadn’t…the food was stone cold and tasted terrible. This was one of the top 5 worst food moments of my life. It was right up there with the grim mystery-meat lunch in East Berlin at the tender age of 16 when The Wall was still up. If I could give this truck minus 5 stars, I would.
