Honestly, NEVERHEARDOFTHEM, until they opened up a store on B’way and 54. So I walk in, that gals are still setting up, welcoming anyway. I chat with I gather the manager or possibly the senior member of the staff — nice. The two drinks I bought cost me 18 bucks! YIKES!!! The product it’s okay, not great, Westerly Supermarkets on 8th Ave makes better drinks/smoothies and for ½ the price, but it’s not about the Westerly. Organic Avenue is extremely expensive, may be it’s the cute bottle’s fault, but honestly, for the price of the product, it’s not worth it.

The workers at this place are incompetent and terrible liars. I placed an order at 6:29pm. At 7:22pm I still had not received my food, so I called the place to see what was causing the hold up. «Oh, what, your order was for delivery? I thought it was for pick up.» Right, that’s why my order says«Deliver to:» and provides my address. After I pointed that out, he had the balls to say«Oh, let me write your address down.» I asked them if they could prioritize my delivery since I had been waiting for so long, and again, the guy just says, «Oh.» Well, you know how much you will be making from my dinner orders going forward? You can say«oh» again because it will be a big oh, zero, zilch! At 7:56pm, I finally got my food. I thought there was something wrong because I had ordered 2 salads, but the weight of my order didn’t even feel like it was enough for half of a salad I’d get elsewhere. The salads were $ 8 and $ 12, but were the size of small side salads. My last hope was that at least the small amounts they gave me would taste good. But of course not. I looked at the ingredients list of my «Big Arugula Salad» and my salad was missing more than half the ingredients! I only got arugula, walnuts, carrot cheese, and 2 slivers of sundried tomatoes, when it also supposed to have sunflower sprouts, pine nuts, garlic, cashews, onions, lemon, carrot, celery, and dates! Did I mention that the arugula was wilted? If you want overpriced food that is missing half of its supposed ingredients, this is your perfect spot. If not, I suggest you look elsewhere so you don’t end up like me after this ordeal – hungry and poor.

This was my go-to spot when I was staying in Midtown. It was close to Central Park on the walk back to my hotel. It’s not a huge store, but it’s spacious and has a good selection of healthy, organic wraps, salads, smoothies and elixirs all pre-made. I had their Mint Cacao Smoothie a couple times and it was wonderful! Also they have blue-green algae shots along with wheat grass shots. They are served in little recyclable glass containers(so cute, I love it!) There were a couple of other items I tried, but everything I bought from here was wonderful! The items are a little on the pricey side, but well worth every penny. We’ve got to demand organic food if that’s what we want! Even if it costs a little bit more. it’s less than the cost of all the health care necessary from eating a diet rich in pesticides and carcinogens!

If you don’t mind eating cold food on a cold autumn day, the food is great. I got lasagna and mac and cheese. Both are yummy. I felt hungry after the lasagna last time, but the mac and cheese is more filling because it contains grains. One thing I don’t like — plastic containers. We can do better than that for a place that sells organic/raw/vegan you should be more environmentally friendly.

I love this store so much! I wish I could live in it sometimes. I would sleep in the back, of course, behind the rows of refrigerated raw vegetable juices and nut milks. It would be heaven! All the fresh juice and vegan treats I could ever eat! But I’d leave those bottles of Ahhmigo for someone else. That stuff is not organicalicious. They discount same-day expiring juices after 5pm by 20%, look for them in the fridge basins by the register. And do drink them the same day, please. They won’t last long after that. As I found to be the case with some fresh coconut milk… eww.

Two words: Turmeric Tonic! I love this store. It is a VEGAN haven. You want kale chips? You got it. You want fresh squeezed juices? You go it. You want VEGAN chocolate-covered raisins? You got it. They also carry all sorts of VEGAN desserts, including a chocolate mousse. But my favorite thing from here is: TURMERICTONIC($ 7)! But if you’re not into unpasteurized drinks, this isn’t a place for you. Also, if some juices expire the same day you are purchasing, you get a 20% discount. It didn’t matter to me if it was going to expire or not, I was going to drink the delicious concoction immediately!
