This restaurant has two locations one doesn’t deliver above 150th the other doesn’t deliver below 155th. Im located at 153rd. They kept telling me the other restaurant was the one that was supposed to deliver to my address. After 30 minutes of back and fourth, I made myself a hotdog and its probably better than any food I would have ordered off their menu.

better when it first opened. décor is hip, but what u see is what u get… in terms of the crowd and service. music way too loud to carry a conversation. I would rather go to an actual restaurant of higher caliber for same price in upper west side. I cant believe anyone still goes there. I feel local ppl who don’t leave the block go here and find it upscale and classy. this is not upscale or classy. lord knows it tries tho. probably better suited for lunch only. but im not risking my $ 6. I do not recommend.

I was a regular at Parrilla until I finally had yet another horrible experience and I’ve only been back once since then. SERVICE: My last experience: I called and ordered for pick-up three orders of tostones 45minutes before I needed to pick them up and when I got there they either forgot or had already served the tostones to other guests! I was infuriated !!(because it wasn’t their first slip-up) And when they realized their mistake they immediately put in another order and I waited I think another 30mins! THEMUSICISTOOOOLOUD– AND to top it off– some nights are«Karaōke Night» so the loud music is compounded with even louder off-tone singing: chuckle: FOOD: their food is top-notch ALAS: since LATE2012 they have been sold and are now a «new establishment»… I am not even giving them a try.

Amazing at true hidden gem! The Best sangria this side of Spain! Awesome atmosphere, good jazz, fantastic wait staff, beautiful layout and very romantic. The food is stellar in both taste and appearance! The lunch menu is one of the best values in all of Manhattan! You can not beat the $ 15 pitcher Sangria during happy hour. The hardest part is not to over indulge in pure gluttony!

There’s not a lot of decent restos in my area, so when this opened I SO wanted it to be good. The food was fine. But people… are you a restaurant or are you a club? The music was absurdly, insanely loud. I won’t complain about the kind of music, because I know that that’s a matter of taste, but it wasn’t a kind of music that appealed to a wide range of people. There were only about six people in the whole place, most sitting in pairs. My friend and I just had to laugh, because it seemed surreal to have this wide open, empty space with dance music blaring in our ears and no one around anywhere near dancing. I had this overall feeling that the owners weren’t exactly sure what the place was, who they were trying to appeal to, and so I suspect they turn off everyone: kids who want to party and adults who want to eat. Anyway, I hope it survives and improves and ends up being the kind of place I can frequent. The lamb was pretty good and so was the steak.

Waitress Who Claims NYPD Detective Raped Her Speaks Out «The waitress claims that one of Parrilla’s owners gave her $ 200 to drink with the group, and that the detective who raped her was celebrating his 49th birthday. «He told me this was his really good friend. He was trying to show him a good time.» AVOID.

Their meal combos(chicken, rice, beans, plaintains, salad and a 1 L of pepsi) is reasonably priced and abundant to feed 4 people. However, comparing it to taste — I prefer La Flor’s meal combos more. The texture of the chicken can be inconsistent; sometimes it can be moist and sometimes it can be dry. In addition, the chicken was very oily that the salad that came along with it was no longer crisp(but saturated with oil). Other than that, Parilla is alright.

Our first experience with Parrilla was delivery. I can’t remember what we ordered, but it was pretty delicious. Ribs & chicken, and maybe some plantains? The portions were huge, and I do remember that we were pretty happy to have leftovers for later. This time, we decided to go to the actual restaurant. I was a little hesitant, but we remembered the food was good, so we went. Reviews said that the restaurant was loud, but since we were going for lunch, I thought that would be a non-factor. And I was wrong. The lunch crowd was especially rowdy … maybe because of the pitchers of sangria? Every laugh and yell echoed in the small room, and we could barely hear our own conversation. And we could tell the room was set up to be a bar; the room had wall and bar lighting which pulsed with every beat of the music. I’m sure that looks great at night, but it looked a little strange in the middle of a sunny day. Other than that, the food was pretty good. We had tacos as an appetizer, and I had fried plantains and boneless chicken for lunch. I loved the plantains! Boyfriend had chicken with a lemon butter sauce, which came with rice and beans. We also had a pitcher of sangria, which was also great(and perfectly sized for the two of us). So, the food was great, but I think I’d rather order delivery next time.

The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the food is very tasty, the service is prompt. There are different types of events to entertain patrons on different nights. You can bring your family, or closest friends and enjoy.

They serve food practically until the sun comes up and the roosters are crowin’ so that’s a major plus. I go to Parrilla like twice a week because the prices are AMAZING the waitresses are friendly, and the décor is good. I am all about décor and finishes, as I have probably said before. In this neighborhood, and for these prices this is the snazziest joint you can find. You can get a margarita for just $ 5 and it is not light, it’s the real deal buddy! I usually have tostones, an empenada and a margarita if I am just stopping in for a snack… It’s the perfect snack and drink for just around $ 11. If you want a meal their menu has a decent variety of foods so that’s cool compared to all of the other places on this strip that offer the SAMETHING, SAMETHING and THESAMETHING! I must say that the music is too loud sometimes. At night, I understand, they like to party down– I do too! In the afternoon, on the other hand, they should turn it down some and make for a more chilled out atmosphere. The other thing is that a couple of the waitresses could be a little more attentive.

Went there on a Friday night with a friend… as mentioned in other reviews, the place was BLASTING music. It was almost impossible to have a normal conversation. It seems they are trying to make the restaurant a nightclub at the same time… the bar was packed and there were annoying, distracting dance lights flashing on us throughout the meal. It’s a shame, because the steak I got was quite good(although the prices are a bit high for the neighborhood).

Price: About $ 15 Highlight: They serve food after 2AM. It was 2am on a Saturday night. Me and 2 famished young gentlemen after finding that Picante’s kitchen had closed found our way here. No entrance fee but we had to show ID. Here’s the short, we were sent all over the place before being seated, food took 2 years and a day to come, music was good but volume was too loud(and I don’t mean this like old lady«too loud», it was too loud for the setup of the place), there were a couple flatscreens showing a football game. Passion fruit sangria was okay, calamari was okay, empanadas okay, sweet plaintains were okay. Oh, and there were also 2 singers, each one did a set, this was kinda cool to be treated to live entertainment. So all in all, for 2am on Saturday it was okay, and honestly the food being okay was liveable, but the music is too loud for a place that was more a restaurant than a dance lounge/club.

We had lunch. Great food that was fresh and fast. Nice to have a clean modern restaurant in the neighborhood. I had the skirt steak and partner had the chicken burrito. $ 7.99 with beans, rice, and salad, and one drink! One complaint: music is too loud. We will definitely return for dinner.

a nice addition to the neighbohood. The food is pretty good. the staff is a bit inexperienced. the service is slow but staff is friendly. This neighborhood does not have to many restaurants so the parilla brings a nice touch to it. I really like their steak.

So… the first time I ordered a Cuban for take-out here, I was amazed: «Hot damn, this sammich is BadAss!» Sweet/tangy marinated pulled pork, toasted roll, pickle. The next time I ordered one, they left out the magic sauce that had come with the tostones the first time around. My third experience with Parilla involved actually sitting down for a beer with a friend while we waited for our take-out. We watched some football on the screens and shouted to each other… My fourth — and likely last — visit to Parilla was marked by the same LOUD music as before(the acoustics are horrible; it’s one big echo chamber), but this time all the more unbearable since it was now combined with absent and absent-minded service and sub-par grub. My beloved Cuban arrived a mere shadow of its former self: dry, bland, lukewarm. Our order was botched and it was hard to find our server when we needed her. Oh, alas.

I had such high hopes for Parilla — the area around Broadway and 137th has lots of food options, just not really great ones. Our first experience was sit-down, shortly after the restaurant opened. No liquor license, but the food was decent with some shining points: a fresh fruit smoothy was amazing as well as the empanadas(particularly sweet corn). We mostly ordered delivery there-after and slowly watched the decline. A juicy burger with tasty fries turned into a puck with McDonalds bun and frozen fries. My only guess is that without a liquor license, this restaurant was severely challenged. I did notice last week that they are now serving alcohol, but I’m a little nervous to try again.

My boyfriend and I had dinner here. The food was nothing special. We got a big plate of combo meat and some drinks. The meat was not particularly fresh nor was it well cooked. The dominate taste was just saltiness. The service was particularly bad because 5 minutes into our meal the waitress brought us the bill and insisted that we pay it. I was shocked and simply ignored her. A few minutes later the head waiter came and took the bill away and said it was actually not our bill; it was intended for another table. Parilla needs to train their staff a little bit better since there were only two groups of ppl in the restaurant at the time, my boyfriend and I and one other guy. How hard is it to keep track of 3 customers? I think Parilla is a good deal for lunch but it is definitely not worth the price they charge for dinner.

The restaurant is a nice addition to the neighborhood. I’m a big fan of the 5.99 lunch special, and love the fact that there is a big grill in the front of the restaurant. It helps create a really cool atmosphere. The service can be a bit slow at time, and the food can be better seasoned. But for the price you can’t go wrong!

Well, I certainly had a lovely experience here! The hostess was wonderful and very friendly, as was my waiter. The décor is very upscale, but the menu is full of affordable options. I mean, I was in time for their lunch special, so I got a soda, salad, rice, beans, and a skirt steak even my father who is a steak fanatic would have approved of, for only $ 6!!! I will be back. It’s nice to have something like this in the area.

More than a Steakhouse, Parrilla features pizza, Tex-Mex, and sandwiches. The lunch specials at $ 4.99 and served until 4pm can’t be beat. There is some inconsistant pricing day to day and in some cases food and drink prices more than double after lunch/happy hour. The music here is extremely loud even when the place is empty. It’s nice that the kitchen is open until 3am for those who get home late. Everything I’ve had there so far is pretty good, especially the fresh juice shakes.
