Tanner’s Bar & Grill

Started off with getting a seat and having a waitress really quickly. We ordered waters and I asked for a burger with vegetables as a side. The water tastes like Coca Cola so I did not drink anymore of it. The food took an additional 40 – 50 minutes even though it was not that busy and instead of veggies, she brought me French fries. My husband pointed it out and she came back with the vegetables which tasted like they were grown in a salt mine. The burger itself was bland and the only thing flavorful on my burger was my onion. Quite disappointing.

I have eaten at Tanners twice. Both times the food was pretty good, and the service just so-​so. The last time I tried to go to Tanners was about two weeks ago. We didn’t end up actually eating there because we literally could not get served. After waiting probably 15 – 20 to get to a table, which wasn’t a huge deal. We got seated and then waited another 15 – 20 minutes and not a single server even acknowledged us, which was an issue. No one stopped by to say «sorry I’ll be with you in a moment» or to even take our drinks. Anyone could see that we’d been sitting there for far too long without service. None of the waiters who passed, or the hostess who walked by us numerous times, bothered to do anything about it. So we left and walked down the street to BWW where we were seated immediately and got great service. I don’t think we’ll bother trying to eat at Tanners again.

My friends and I agree, it’s the best spot in Manhattan to get quality bar food and good drinks. A must stop when you’re in town.

It’s a great place to go and watch the game and have a couple beers and a burger. They have great drink specials and the food is wonderful.

Had the sirloin tips and fries. It was on special today. It was 7 bucks. It was cooked perfectly like I ordered, and was very flavorful and generously portioned. The meat was not over seasoned, and was juicy. The bartender was very friendly, and proficient. Great place to get a good meal and some cheap drinks.

This place was great. Our Über driver recommended Tanners because it was Wednesday night and they had $ 5 burger specials (normally $ 10). In addition pints of local brew were $ 3.50. That was the best $ 5 burger I have had (bacon blue), tons of cheese and crisp bacon.

2^nd time coming here. Apparently they have a «special» menu on the weekend that doesn’t cater to those with food allergies or other dietary needs. Won’t come here again. Waitress and manager made me feel terrible.

I was pleasantly surprised with the food and beers! Blackened chicken wasn’t just burnt, but seasoned exceedingly well! I’ll be back for some more sports and beers in the future.

We really like going to tanners. It’s a total bar with with big TVs everywhere and a good beer list. We like to order the mystery beers! Food is average bar food but a good place to go if a game is on !

Worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Went with a group of 3 friends on a Sunday morning at the beginning of lunch. The bartenders watched us walk in and find a pub style table right across from the bar in the middle of the restarant. We waited and waited for someone to greet us, but no one did. The waitresses were too busy flirting with the male bartender to pay attention to customers. The bar was slow so the bartenders stood and talked to other employees or looked around the restaurant. They could easily see we had no drinks or menus and were trying to get service. After a full 10 minutes, I managed to grab a waitress from who told us we weren’t in her section, but she’d try to find someone.
Still no one came by to help us. In the mean time, two tables sat down directly next to us and were helped in a reasonable about of time, receiving menus and drinks. She came back and said the waitress with our section was missing (hmmm really?) and got us drink orders. We watched our beers sit at the bar for another 5 minutes without anyone who was standing there chatting, bothering to bring them to us. We asked her about the special on their menu (they have the same specials for each day of the week) and she said she didn’t know but she could ask. She left for a few minutes, came back and took the two new tables orders and went to put them in to the computer without bothering to tell us what the special was or ask for our order.
Finally, after over 30 minutes of being able to get nothing but a beer, we put a couple dollars on the table for the beer and left. We have all worked in restaurants, but have never seen a place so terribly mismanaged! Still just can’t believe how bad it was!

They have good drink specials usually but so far the food we have ordered has been horrible (except for the fried green beans). The nachos were cold and bland/​bare and the shredded cheese wasn’t even melted on them… and the salsa was the worst salsa we had ever tasted at a restaurant! The environment is nice though…

Great place to eat drink and watch the football game. Had the Reuben sandwich and fries which was very good! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

We went on Monday night, but this is a great sports bar. Lot of TVs so great to watch a game. The fried pickle chips are amazing. Our waitress was excellent.
For the entrée I ordered the steak sandwich. The steak was really good, but would order something else next time.
Overall, we had a good experience and will definitely come back.

Delicious food, great atmosphere to watch sports (many TVs) and the wait staff was very attentive despite the forewarning of our friends saying otherwise. We were very pleased.

Been to tanners a few times, today was the first time for dinner. The food is always good. Mushrooms and cheese balls are awesome. Service us a bit slow but not bad. Prices are excellent for serving sizes.

Worst experience ever! Went in tonight waited over 45 min for food that was cold … My friend’s sandwich was under heat lamps for who knows how long making her lettuce wilt and burn on the edges and dry out her bread, my husband’s steak tips were ice cold and my other friends burger was a hokey puck when he asked for medium. Manager didn’t even come talk to us when we sent food back, the ticket was handled but no apologizes or anything… Super disappointed for the wait … Never will go back!
