Love this place. Great selection and really nice employees. Went in wanting to buy one bottle came out with 3 at great prices

Terry’s is a wonderful place. Everyone is helpful and courteous along with being very knowledgable about wine and spirits. A great place to get your dinner wine, special occasion wine or just to geek out with the staff for awhile.

I have lived a couple of doors down from Terry’s for over 4 years now. When they first opened, I was ecstatic — so local, so cool, so hip. I was buying from them almost once a week and of course for all events that required bringing wine. I loved the homey, close knit family feel of the business. I LOOOVED that they were open late. The prices were quite reasonable. Each shelf had most of its bottles in the $ 19-​$ 30s price range. If you were blindfolded and randomly picked a bottle, probability was high that you picked one in the $ 20s range. In the past year I have noticed the prices creeping up. There is more variety now in the sense that I notice a wider price range on each shelf (from $ 20s to $ 60s). More variety is good of course, but this means that previously where the majority of the bottles were in the $ 20s and $ 30s, there are fewer of those bottles now. If you want to spend under $ 30, your choices are a little more limited. This is not a complaint about the quality of Terry’s wines but just an observation and a consideration of the competitive market in this area. There are at least 3 other wine and liquor shops around me. If I’m heading to yet another holiday party and I just need to bring a bottle and I don’t necessarily need my choice to be the absolute best… I’m going to want a cheaper selection. That is precisely what happened this holiday season. For the first time in 4 years I bought all my party wines at other places. Sorry Terry.

My Favorite wine shop in the city!

I met Joel over a bowl of Veggie ramen one day about two years ago and he asked if I was interested in wine. I had just turned 21 so secretly I was more interested in the kind of cheap whiskey, there was no room for me to acquire a taste for wine at the time. But being in the food industry, however, meant fork in your right hand and a glass of wine in the other. I was going to have to be interested in wine whether I liked it or not. So I took up his offer of a 15% discount to try a few bottles of wine.
I stepped into the quaint little shop that instantly reminded me of a personal library but instead of books there were bottles. Everyone who has helped me pick a wine here over the years has been on point. I have never been disappointed with the wines I’ve taken home.
Even after I have moved to Texas, I came back over the weekend and made a point of stopping by to try a new wine from Terry’s. I’m a loyal customer.

Terry’s is one of those places that you walk by and wish were as good as it looks. Guess what: It IS that good! Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff that recommends not in a pre-​prepared patter about fruit and nose and tannin and drinkability, but instead with a true oenophilic vocab. A very small but judicious selection chosen not for trendiness but out of the love of the juice. I’ve had many surprising bottles here, and hope to have many more.

This is a really nice store. It has nice décor and friendly staff. I like the small batch liquors they have. It was a great place to get a more original bottle for a housewarming party. A little expensive but not crazy and the stock is quite nice. Definitely worth trying out

I live around the corner and stop by at least once a week. They have a very knowledge staff that is super helpful, and great wines at an array of price points. Also, for the last few months they have had a fabulous selection of rosés (both sparkling and traditional) from Provence and less thought of places like Portugal. Delicious! And they keep a log of the different wines that you’ve purchased as a customer in their system so that if you remember that you liked a particular wine, but don’t remember the name of the wine they can look it up for you. Definitely go here.

I’ve lived in the village for almost four years now and have tried a variety of wine shops. Terry’s is by FAR the best and it is now my go-​to. I can’t say how many times friends have remarked on the wine we have gotten here and asked where to find it. The bottles at Terry’s are varied and extremely well-​curated, the selection impeccable, and the prices reasonable. Terry’s has relationships with a lot of the producers themselves, which result in a real love and knowledge of the wine. Get on the mailing list for invitations to awesome wine tastings from great producers. Couldn’t recommend the shop more highly!

Surprised to see so few reviews. Unfortunately, my GF recently moved from the West Village, but this was our favorite wine shop in the neighborhood. It’s the kind of store where small size says well curated selection. I can honestly say I never had a bad bottle there, and got turned on to new varietals and producers. The tastings are great, the owner especially on point with all recommendations and the staff cheerful. I’ll miss it.

Terry’s is a charming little store with knowledgeable, friendly staff and a wide selection of unique wines at reasonable prices. My go-​to place!

The employees are knowledgeable without being pushy or trying to «up-​sell.» Perhaps most importantly, lots of free tastings! This is a West Village gem.
