Fat Daddy’s Sports & Spirits Cafe

Sitting here right now at fat daddy’s. The service is very disappointing. Seated our selves and had to go to the bar to get our own drinks. There are a few wait staff wondering about. No one has asked to serve us. Went up to the bar again and waited 10 minutes for a bar tender to take our order. It was not busy there at all. 25 minutes later still no waitress, and two guys sit down next to us and immediately got a waitress. Very disappointed and will not return.

I’ve been here several times and I’m sad to say the service has become such a disappointment. Not to mention the people at the front taking our cover charge– the older man was extremely rude. Very unnecessary.

The sign said «seat yourself», so I sat at a table in front of the fireplace. I was totally ignored by at least 2 waitresses who were just hanging out by what appeared to be the the kitchen entrance. Apparently if you don’t want to sit at the bar then you don’t get served. I left. Won’t be back.

Cool, fun atmosphere. We sat ourselves on the patio but had to go and find a waitress to wait on us. Surprisingly, the service was pretty good. Our waitress highly recommended the burgers or the pizzas; I opted for the supreme pizza. I ate half a piece and gave the entire large pizza to my male friend, whom I assumed would eat anything, to take home as leftovers. He tried a slice later on and said he ended up throwing the whole thing out. So just a small heads up don’t order the supreme and don’t try to seat yourself on the patio.

My group of 7 went there Sat 9 – 26 bout 630 pm. Great sports bar. Spacious, which was more comfortable than most I’ve been to. The food was just ok. I ordered the Big Mouth burger which was just a medium to small burger, just average, not impressed at all. Ordered side of Onion Rings with it and got I just warm crinkle fries which were obviously frozen before frying. Said they were out of onion rings (at 630pm?) So a crappy burger and fries were $ 12. Burger King Whopper beats it by a mile at half that price !!! But the unprofessionalism of the waitresses was astounding. Ours had the personality of a wet mop. She seemed to be put out having to wait on our table which was really sad because the Management doesn’t see it or doesn’t care about the unfriendly attitudes most of them seem to have. Next time I go, IF I DO, I would probably just sit at the bar instead of dealing with waitstaff who is only there to pick up a check.

As soon as I walk in the door you see a beautiful car that will make you drool. Big open seating inside or on the patio. The patio can open to the outside or be closed in. I went and as soon as we sat down Olivia came and asked how we were asked what we wanted to drink then went and got us menus. My son is picky so it took few minutes for him to decide but when he did he told Olivia what he wanted and asked her to take off the pico and sour cream. She asked if he the peppers on it explained that it had tons. My son quickly said please take them off too. She got our order correct without writing it down. She was very attentive and the amount of food was very generous.
There was live music this night. Justin Ross. Johnny Cooper. Gary Kyle. Loved the music and the voices.

The food was awesome and the band was playing great all night, I will definitely come back!

We were here recently and service was kind of slow. The drinks were obviously not full shots. Drinks very weak and overpriced for such poor quality. TABC should pay them a visit secretly and verify that these drinks are not being made correctly.

Slow service. Staff ignored us to serve drinks for buddies and regulars for 25 minutes. Acted annoyed when I asked for help. Will not be back.

The 3 stars are for the food which was really good! It seemed fresh, and gourmet. Not regular bar food! There was a lot of variety on the menu which is also unique to most bars!
The sad parts were the service– everyone ignored us for the majority of the stay. We would have to beg random people to stop to get us a drink or take our food order. The food took a long time and this was NOT a peak time. The place was dead but fully staffed because it was about 4pm on a Friday. Sad. Probably won’t return.

I reserved a group for 12 people last night. I called and asked about a cover charge. They told me anyone that came after 8 PM had to pay a $ 15 cover. When we showed up at 7 o’clock they tried to immediately charge us $ 15 a person upon entry. I told them that I had called ahead and they said that we did not have to pay a cover before eight. They told me whoever told me that was mistaken. That we could go in and eat and as long as we left before 9 o’clock we would not have to pay a cover. That’s pretty ridiculous. They cashier was rude, they all seemed confused, then she gave us back less change than we were owed. I won’t return.

Party of 7 — around 3pm… maybe 15 people in the whole place and about 5 of those at the bar… it took 1 hr 15 minutes for us to get our food (mostly burgers or sandwiches and fries) our drinks went empty numerous times as waitress simply walked by… when food finally arrived, most of it was cold (as if it had been sitting around in the back)
The food was sorta bland or cold… nothing stood out saying yum…
This was my 3^rd time at this place and 2^nd time for extended wait on food and extended wait on refills …
I don’t blame the waitress to much as the food comes out of the kitchen. All I can say is kitchen staff is definitely a disappointment at this place… Only consider this place if your going for drinks and sitting at the bar… it’s definitely not worth a 4^th visit from me or members of my group…

Overall a nice place, good music, pool tables and decent food. My biggest complaint here is the waitstaff, while friendly they can be less than attentive. I have had to wait several times as they were on «smoke break» or see them walk past our table all together because we aren’t in their section. Just seems that they could work together a little more especially the days they are busy. We will be back and hope this improves as we love seeing Mansfield restaurants prosper!

This is a really fun place!!! The indoor/​outdoor patio is fabulous! It’s a great place to meet for drinks with fiends on warm summer afternoon! It gets a little crazy at night. The food here is EXCELLENT!!! From the pizza to the seafood… Everything is delish! Great fish and chips!!!

After a really long day at 11:30 PM we finally stopped to get something to eat and a drink. A big sign out front says they’re pen till 2AM, however we were told they were closed.

This was a first time visit for me. They scanned my ID (I think for private club type bar) a lot of places are like that and then there was a live band when we went on (Saturday night), the service was good probably bc we sat at the bar and the food items are great! When I ordered my wings hot I was expecting hooters hot… Oh man one bite and ten glasses of water later I was good! I’m not a spicy person either but still good. Definitely a great atmosphere and food. Oh and did I mention the awesome car the have on a rotating stand. So cool!!! Only downside to the place was the fact there was a policeman standing inside watching everyone I guess fights or drunks acting a fool happen often. Brings the vibe down a bit. But I’ll definitely be visiting again though!

I thought this would be a fun venue for a group of about 8 to get together for a late lunch to celebrate a birthday. And it almost was. The food was pretty good, but our waitress Lauren F was a total disappointment. Not once did she smile and she acted like taking our order was a waste of her time. The latter portion of our visit she was sitting at the bar talking to someone most of the time, and I finally had to ask her for our check.
There was live music and a pleasant atmosphere, so we all had a good experience except for the service.
Hope you’re reading this Lauren, you could have had a way bigger tip.

This used to be a real nice 5-​star place for lunch or after work — good food, nice people to hang with, pretty and friendly waitresses. But in the past few months the place has changed. There’s been a management change and the the new bosses evidently think this place is for people that think Redneck Heaven is too high class. The waitresses dress like it’s closing time at the strip club which would be great except that the only time you see them is when they are chatting with each other. They will talk to you and your party, but only to complain about how bad their tips are as you are cashing out.
If Shelby or Lizzie are behind the bar you’re in for a nice time, they are friendly sweethearts, but the other girls behind the bar act like they are too good to work there, especially JAIME who ALWAYS has a lousy attitude. Then — surprise — they complain that their tips suck. Wonder why?
The customers have changed, too. There are still a few smart experienced people to chat with, but there are more and more loudmouth over-​muscled douchebags looking to start a fight, and butt-​ugly girls talking trash at the top of their lungs while hurling insults like hand grenades. NOT family friendly.
I used to really like this place. But based on the unfriendly attitude of the waitstaff and the lack of business, this place is sinking faster than a Russian submarine.

It’s hot as the fires of hell in this place. There’s no way the A/​C is on at all. It’s cooler outside in the 90 degree heat.

I came in on a Wednesday in August of 2014 with my friend and was very disappointed. Apparently there was a change in management, so the Wednesday $ 1 margarita happy hour was taken off the menu. We would have understood and been okay with it, however we were under the impression that it still existed since we clearly mentioned we wanted the $ 1 margarita to the waitress. In addition, the chili that we ordered off their menu tasted like they microwaved it out of a can. Our waitress was very nice and apologized about the confusion and offered us another drink on them. Of course, the margarita tasted like a virgin margarita. All this place has going for itself is it’s live music and patio.
I’m a fan of this place more for their bar aspect than the food. The outside patio was spacious with a visible tv monitor. Not only did I enjoy their Wednesday $ 1 Margarita Happy Hour, which were not weak surprisingly, but the atmosphere and service was great.
However, as for as the food, if I could rate it individually it would have been 3 stars. For an appetizer we had the Shiner Bock Queso & Chips. The queso was okay with a warm and creamy texture. For my main entrée I had the «slap Yo’ Momma» Smothered Steak medium rare. I received my steak well done and my whipped potatoes bland. The brown gravy and sauteed onions and mushrooms actually made the overall dish a little better.
The server mentioned that the pizzas were good at this location, I’ll probably be back on a Wednesday to try them out with my $ 1 Margaritas!
