This is one of the best wineries in Chelan. The staff are very friendly and fun. The wine is out of this world. Take a close look at the wallpaper… especially in the bathroom. Danielle is our favorite!

Great location and staff. Shawn was especially knowledgable about the wines and history of the establishment. Will be back for more wine in the future.

Absolutely adore this winery! I actually moved to Chelan a year ago and have been to this winery 4 times this year already. My girlfriends and I love tasting their wine and hearing the fabulous story behind HARDROWTOHOE … The name says it all :)

We arrived in a white stretched limo all dressed in beautiful black cocktail dresses ready to toast the bride to be with a bottle of bubbly on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. We heard the boat was a perfect place to snap a picture of all of us together. It is unfortunate that the greeting and the service were so far off from typical of the other wineries where we had been previously. Owners took time to share there product, help us with the perfect tastings and all of them offered pictures of the group. We were not greeted with a welcome or a hello; Simply«I am not doing tastings.» Um… okay…so we’ll buy a bottle. She offered to assist getting situated outside. But no… not in the shade under the mister on the quaint deck WHEREWEWANTED… but instead, ushered out to the lawn, much further from the establishment. It was obvious that we were not welcome or wanted. The bubbly was alright and we made our own fun. The boat made the trip! Not the product, not the staff and not the attitudes. If it is just you and your significant other, or maybe just an afternoon with your mom and sister… head on over. If you are looking to have a good time and celebrate in the most beautiful part of Eastern Washington… drive right on by. Your money is no good here.

Such a cute little winery! Customer service was great, we had an older guy(forgot his name) who was so informative and friendly — was waiting at the front door for us when our limo dropped us off. From the initial welcoming greeting to the very end of our wine tasting, such a great guy! The wallpaper and décor were definitely one of a kind!!! I had a group of 11 and we were definitely satisfied with the service and wines!!! Such an original and unique winery, a must see when visiting chelan!

First stop on our wine tour last weekend. Wines are acceptable but if you’re not over 50 or part of their wine club, expect to be overlooked. We sat there, a group of 6 of us, with empty glasses after our first taste while the staff welcomed others in and gave them their first and second tastes. I would have bought the rose’ but didn’t bother. Bad service = no sale. We were charged $ 10 a tasting but luckily other group members bought enough wine to cover it.

I came last summer and looks like I forgot to submit my review. The only reason I give two stars instead of one, is due to the fact that the wine is great. I can’t say the same for the employees and the fact that I have to jump through hoops to taste the varietals I enjoy. If I have to pay for a tasting Id prefer to taste a wine I may like to buy. Will not be returning. Do yourself a favor and head to the Benson – 5 free tastes of ANY of their award winning wines, terrific atmosphere, friendly and informative staff, and a phenominal view.

Hard Row to Hoe Vineyards was a great little winery to visit, it was recommended to my wife and I by Wapato Point Resort. We enjoyed the winery, the wine and the story of how it was renamed several years ago. This will be a winery that we will return to the next time that we are in the Chelan area.

Easily my favorite winery I visited while in the area, this was a really fun and interesting place. The wallpaper is hilarious and the story behind their name and their slightly vulgar taste is great. My favorite wine of theirs was the Seduction Red. Super tasty. A lot of their bottles are really awesomely designed as well — they have some great marketing! $ 5 tasting fee which is refunded if you buy a bottle of wine.

Usually when a wine has a fun or silly label on it you immediately think this wine is going to suck, but the label is fun. With HRTH that is not at all the case. You get a quality wine and an awesomely fun story to go with it. We visit this winery a lot as my mother in law is a wine club member. She might actually move in if there was room for her;) Their cab franc is incredible as is naughty boy. Go in and look closely at the wall paper, do some tasting, and listen to all the great stories. Incredibly fun and incredible wine.

If you are touring wineries in Lake Chelan put this one on your list, especially for bachelorette parties. Such a fun, unique story about the name of winery and history behind it. The names of the wines are super fun– Naughty Boy Riesling. Wines are very reasonably priced. Very small intimate space. Don’t forget to check out the wallpaper!

This was a winery on my MUST try list when visiting Chelan! We came yesterday(a Friday afternoon around 3pm.) it was pretty busy. The tasting was $ 5 per person(waived with the purchase of wine.) I liked the wines. I wouldn’t say they were the best in Chelan, but definitely high up there. The girl that did our tasting told us the story behind the winery, helping tie the décor and everything together. Love the pink chairs and row boat out front! Such cute décor! I would for sure come back here! The perfect stop for girls weekend to a bachelorette party!

Overrated in my opinion. Small location that has plenty of parking. I visited with several friends during Chelan Nouveau, the spring wine release event. Heads up that if you have the Foursquare app, your tasting is free! Interesting story behind the winery(site of a former brothel), however I felt the service here was pretty lacking. We were hurried and were not able to try a single wine that wasn’t on the tasting menu(and the tasting menu was really limited). I tried several wines, none especially memorable, though they all had kitschy names. I bought a bottle of Shameless Hussy Rose’ for under $ 20 as a souvenir, took a picture on the fancy couch with my friends, and headed on to the next winery.

This was a great spot! It was red wine and chocolate theme all over Manson and Chelan wineries. Every wine was excellent at this place, and we bought two bottles of the blend. The history behind this winery is fun too, as it explains why they have innuendo in their name and winery. When I visit wineries however, it’s all about the wine. This place has quality reds. Will be back next time I visit!

Wonderful people at this quirky little winery. It’s very cozy with some outdoor seating. The helpful ladies inside who offered us their wine also had a lot of stories to tell us about the history of the wines and where the names came from. I purchased two bottles of Cab as it was very delicious. The wine is NOT cheap but it is very very good.

Super fun little vineyard with a unique story to boot. A little outside of Chelan, almost to Manson, but definitely worth the drive. The staff are very friendly, their outdoor seating area is nice, and their pours are generous. Note, their tasting fee is $ 5, but it’s totally worth it as their wine is award winning, and if you buy a bottle of wine, the tasting fee goes towards the cost of the bottle of wine!

Went to Chelan to do a little wine tour this past weekend and Hard Row was our last stop. I have to say, we saved the best for last. It is a little ways out of the Chelan city area but if you make the trek out there, you will not be disappointed. Watch for the pointing finger, or you may drive right past it like we did — oops. Upon pulling up to the tasting room, you may be wondering what you are getting yourself into… but once you walk around you will instantly see the charm. And that is the number one way I would describe this place, very charming. Make sure you ask for the history lesson of the winery and then all the décor and theme will make sense. It was the sassy little winery and the staff were such characters. Like most places out there the tasting is $ 5 or by a bottle and forget the tasting fee. I was a big fan of the Pinot Noir and my boyfriend loved the Cab Franc, so we got a bottle of each. Definitely loved the Nauti Buoy(Naughty Boy yes that’s right) too. Loved this place so much I am thinking of joining the wine club! And to those reviewers who had bad experiences in terms of being turned away, I can understand that the situation may not have been handled in the best manner, but the tasting room is VERYSMALL and if its a busy weekend it would probably be miserable to be in there anyways especially if it is hot out. So if you have a larger group, you should really give the winery the courtesy of a phone call heads up and perhaps scheduled an appt to avoid a rude and awkward situation especially since most of the wineries there are small, its a pretty general rule of thumb.

We went to the winery last month and experienced some of the worst customer service. This was my second visit and I was very excited to take friends and show them this really neat winery with a great history. Instead we were treated with such disrespect and bluntness that I’m amazed that with service like that they’re still in business. There are a lot of great wineries in the Chelan area — don’t waste your time at Hard Row to Hoe and I highly recommend spending your money elsewhere!
