I would like to 1st state that I never got a opportunity to see either Dentist or get past the receptionist. 2nd I would like to state that I was a licensed Dental assistant in a another state and currently I am a Dental Implant Consultant with(200+ surgeries) and know my way in and out of a dental office being that I worked for a General Dentist for 3 years and I worked for a Periodontist for 3 years. This bad experience is 100% on the woman who sat at the front desk on Monday Dec 14⁄2015. (Back story) On Saturday My 4 year old daughter was involved in a head on collision with another child’s face at a day care. This accident left my daughter with buccal mucosal damage to #D, #E(her upper 2 front teeth) The laceration was above the tooth near the roots of her two front teeth. My concern was that maybe the bone might have a hairline fracture or possibly the roots might have a fracture. My daughter’s teeth were in pain with swollen lips. Coming from the dental field I knew an emergency visit would only result in a dental visit so I waited till Monday which brings us to now. When I walked into the office I was greeted politely. I told the front desk that I didn’t have an appointment, that my daughter had an emergency and needed to be seen for possible fracture to the front of her teeth. The response from the front desk was«We are currently taking appointments into January» «We could make an appointment then for an exam.» Then she asked what insurance I had. When I told her what insurance I had she said that they didn’t take our insurance. 1st I had never known a dental office to refuse treatment to a child that is in pain! At that exact moment I was the only patient in the waiting room. Where I worked it is Illegal to turn away children in pain.(Deamonte Driver a child died of a infected tooth) 2nd I was there to pay in cash. I never brought up insurance even though I have it. In all my years in a dental office I had never experienced something like that. It’s sad that I had to give this practice 2 star but keep in mind I never got a chance to see either of these Doctors who might have been wonderful. Her judgemental front desk person lost a cash paying patient today and this doctor should know that. Not the place to go to if your child has an emergency. I went to Twin Cities Dental they squared me and my daughter away with a full waiting room.

I found this practice on a whim while searching for pediatric dentists. It’s doesn’t have a formal name but don’t let that turn you away because this is a complete dental clinic specifically for children. The clinic has two dentists, four hygienists, and a couple front desk staff. The office is located in an office park building in Maple Grove. The waiting room is so welcoming. It’s tastefully decorated for kids. Cartoons on the TV, free Pac-Man arcade game, lots of books, and magazine for the adults. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The exam space is great, too. It’s an open-air concept with benches and art for privacy rather than walls or exam rooms. My favorite part of our visit was the staff. As someone who despises trips to the dentist myself, I have put off my son’s first visit for years. At 4.5, I worried that he would be scared and non-compliant. But our hygienist made him feel very comfortable. I appreciated that she showed him the chair and let him try each of the tools before using them. The cleaning was very gentle. She took breaks as often as he asked. After he picked out a prize and got a sticker for being cavity-free, we saw the dentist(Dr. Borodkin). She reviewed his chart and took the time to review his X-rays in detail. I was worried that she would scold me for waiting so long to bring him in. Not at all! She was informative and supportive, not judgmental. We left with a ‘swag’ bag — toothbrush, paste, a water bottle, a really nifty flosser, and a save the date for our next appointment. We will DEFINITELY be going back.
