This Fat Tuesday was my first and LAST experience with Baraona’s. The young lady behind the counter didn’t offer to check if they had more of the bakery item I wanted. Instead she told me she didn’t think they had it. When a customer, after me, asked for the same item, the person helping her went and checked; turns out they had 5 left, all of which were bought by the other customer. When I began to express my concern, the young woman who had«assisted» me decided to tell me how she didn’t appreciate that I was talking about her behind her back. Then, this girl decides she want’s to give me the back and forth about why her service was poor, and what was and wasn’t her job. During this time, the owner just stood there and said absolutely nothing. At least not to me. He waited until I left and told another customer that he felt that I went over board. Yeah, that customer(who actually agreed with me) came out afterwards and told it. WOW. Business must be so good that he can stand to lose customers(at least this one) who will be sure to spread the word. Good luck to you and your young apprentice.

Baraona’s Bakery has ALWAYS has something good in their bakery! If you want a nice little cake then try the strawberry whipped cream cake. It is 7″ approx. and is a decent price(around $ 15) with free lettering included. Baraona’s ALWAYS has something unique and deciding on all that you would like is my biggest struggle. Last time I went around the holidays, we purchased the strawberry whipped cream cake, assorted kolacky and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake that was decadent! Baraona’s is truly a wonderful little bakery. The only small issue(s) with Baraona’s is that the line gets long very easily SO the earlier you get there the better chance you have of getting ALL that you want FRESH and READY! The parking is small as well so once again get there early. They usually open at 7:30 am. You will be happy you did!

Just tried my first cassata cupcake and it was so delicious! Highly recommend. Next time I would try a whole cassata cake! We also bought some big chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies which were delicious as well! The next time you are in the area I would definitely visit!

How could I forget to review a place I have been eating at since an early age!!! Great bakery, I love their cannoli. The may seem easy to make, but it does take the right touch to make a good one. They are delicious. The cookies are always good, they have many different kinds but the kolacki are my favorite. Haven’t had something I didn’t like here. They have been around forever; they bake all sorts of goodies daily sure they have something for you. Happy to have one of Cleveland’s best in Maple Hts!

I’ve only visited 3 times. With that said, each time the people have been very friendly even to accommodate my kids who only want 1 of that cookie, or 2 of those. The place is clean and has old-fashioned charm. Donuts are great, canolis — awesome. Chocolate chip cookies the size of a child’s head. My family of 4 got treats for everyone and it came out to about one Lincoln bill. For homemade goodness, Baraona’s is the best.

My family has been a customer for decades but will never order again! Placed an order for a cake with a pick up at 3:45 today, after finding out that they close at 4:00. My husband left work early and rushed to the bakery. At 3:56 he was 5 minutes away and I called the bakery to let them know that he would be there at 4:00 — 4:01, no one answered and their closed message was already playing. When he pulled up the employee was walking away from the bakery. He asked about the cake order and was told, sorry but they were closed, she could not help him and she walked away. My husband and 4 cars pulled away. My cake was sitting in the bakery with our greeting on it and she could not turn around and take three minutes to give it to us? Horrible, horrible customer service! For a small bakery to do this is crazy. Then again, for a bakery to close at 4:00 on monday must not want too much business anyway! I will be taking my business elsewhere and will let others know as well! Bakery called me this morning to see if I still wanted the cake I ordered for a pick-up yesterday. Hmmm, maybe they should have called at 3:50 yesterday to see if I was still coming to get it, but no, they did not care. When I told her about the timing her response… once we close the door we do not have a key to go back in(I assume I was talking to the owner — no key?). When I asked about calling at 3:56 to let them know and no one answered… her response — they are there 7 days a week and when it is closing time, they are ready to leave — it was not closing time yet. Great, I will find another bakery who cares about their customers and will tell everyone I know about this as well.

If I hadn’t had a cake from them a long time ago, this rating would be a one. I thought for sure we would get a cake from here since I had a Cassata cake for my graduation that was really good. When my fiancé, family and I went in to talk about options for our wedding cake, I was absolutely appalled by the condition of the shop. It was filthy. Not only did it look like the décor hasn’t been updated since 1970, but it also looked like no one had vacuumed, dusted or cleaned anything either. When I showed them a picture of the style of cake we were looking for, I was told«we cant do that», «we dont have that» and«it looks tedious». Is that any way to get business? The cake samples we tasted(white, choc, red velvet) were dry, bland and really just not good. They quoted $ 800 for a guest count of 200. Quotes from other companies were around $ 450 – 500 and had a much better presentation and were willing to work with us on what we wanted. Lastly, once I compromised on letting them put a ribbon around my cake, as opposed to the«tedious» pearl beading I originally wanted, she said they would charge us $ 5 to put the ribbon on! WTF! Overall very disappointed, especially given the reputation and history of this company. The dirtiness of the store was the worst part of it all — I will never get bakery from here knowing it is made in a facility with such unkempt conditions — what does it look like«in the back»?!? Scary.

Local bakery that has been a icon of the community since 1949. If you live in the area, you have heard of Baraonas. and chances are the first words out of someone mouth when you mention their name is «Have you tried their Cassata cake?» My birthday wish every year is for a Baraona’s Cassata cake. They are magnificent! I have heard that there are people who don’t particularly like Cassata cakes and i shiver at the thought of being born with such a curse! The bakery also sells local favorites like Kolackys, Canolis, cakes, donuts. blah blah blah. But i really only go there for one thing. Do not try to walk in and buy a cake. This is a call ahead and order bakery, not Giant Eagle. Local and family owned is a shopping trend we should all start adopting before corporate chain places completely ruin food as we knew it. Got an event coming up and need a cake, try Baraonas once I promise you will be a regular for life.
