I bought an hour of time in 15 minute sections, as I needed some advice doing decreasing of a raglan sleeve. I aked a question which I think was much too much of an effort to answer, because the ‘instructor’ smiled a condecending smile and gave an answer that was generic at best, not at all helpful. When I realized she was as rude as the other clerk, I left, and will not return to claim my other 45 minutes. How they stay in business is a mystery! There has never been the size needle I wanted, and was told I could make do with a different size, no other notions, few skeins of yarn to buy for a project of any size, and when the yarn is ordered, you wait and wait for a delivery. I have bought very expensive yarn for one project and thought it would never arrive. When I called I was told it was there! I was not notified. Never again! HearthStone is miles away and well worth the trip.

I went here on a mission for some new size 13 circulars. I was not particularly impressed with my options available here. They only stock one brand chaio goo which might be some folks cup of tea but the cables are rather stiff and«memory-free»(read: resistant towards bending inwards to knit). The yarn selection seemed sufficient prices were what I’d expect. Customer service was sufficient. Not a bad place by any means just not somewhere I’d go out of my way to shop for yarn.

Have shopped here for a few years only due to lack of other yarn stores. There is not a big selection and I do not ever feel welcome there. The owner, Brooke, is so incredibly condescending to customers and acts like she’s doing you a favor by being there. My last visit was my very last as I can’t overhear the condescension to paying customers one more time or be told that she’s too busy with something else to answer a question.

There is a nice variety of yarns, but not a huge stock. The main thing I noticed is the new store reeks of stale cigarette smoke. I’m sure this must be from the previous tenant, but it’s a shame.

The new shop is beautiful… I only wish the employees’ attitudes matched the newness of the shop. While I was there, a woman was inquiring about crochet classes and the employee was condescending and rude. The thing that bothers me the most is that there is generally an air of cooperation and community where knitters and crocheters gather. I do not feel especially welcome there, and would not be comfortable at all asking questions.

Enjoyed a knitting class there today. New location in Kirkwood on Manchester Road. Learned the basic with good instruction in a small class. Beautiful yarns. Look forward to taking more classes
