The location was great and the rooms and kitchen were clean. The bed was comfortable and we got a good nights sleep. The view is amazing. The front desk worker was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I got a good deal on the price.

This is the perfect place to visit. It is a small beach resort with lots of character. The walk way into the water is beautiful. You are able to sit on the coral beach and watch the sunset and rise. The rooms are small but clean and have all you need. If you are looking for large commercialized resort, this is not for you, but if you want an intimate beach setting this is perfect.

The only redeemable thing about this resort was the young man who worked at the front desk. The beach was littered with trash and weeds and the rooms were just awful.

The best kept secret in The Keys!!! My girlfriend and I decided to take an impromptu road trip down to the keys and needed a last minute place to stay. I looked online for at least an hour of our drive trying to find a room. It was Spring Break(we didn’t time that on purpose, and you know how internet searches always return the expensive hotels(that probably pay them to be plastered in your face). Fortunately, the expensive hotels were all booked up, so I picked Seashells. Honestly, I was nervous bc I didn’t know what to expect. I know my girlfriend has HIGH standards on where she sleeps, showers, and does her bathroom business so I was crossing my fingers for the best. Boy did they deliver plus plus plus! We got in very late and was pleased to see a real key in an envelope with our name on it and a little diagram to our room, nice old skool touch. Ambient rope lights came on as we stepped onto our beachside patio. Nice. Opened the door and was very impressed with how big the place was. It was cozy, clean, and perfect. We went straight to sleep, and our bed was very comfortable. It’s worth mentioning that my girlfriend likes a lot of pillows and there were like 6 on each bed! The next morning we woke up early enough to see the sunrise over the ocean(sort of, it was kind of cloudy but still beautiful). There’s a little coffee bar tiki hut right there on the beach, perfect! Didn’t swim in the pool, but the guy was scooping it at sunrise. Plenty of beach seating and a hammock. Two lighted docks that were romantic to sit on at night. This couldn’t have been a better experience! And triple the room for a third of the price to boot! Note: this beach isn’t meant for swimming, just the relaxing view, but there is a swimming beach just down the way.

This is the worst place i have ever stayed at ever. Number one the second we got there the owner was extremely rude. And number two we were told we had a two queen bed room and when we walk in… one bed. Are u serious. Go take a shower and there’s a flood from a leak!!! Never in my life will I ever stay here or somewhere like this again

On a whim, we decided to stay on the keys, we saw an affordable motel and were not expecting much. We absolutely loved it here! The view from our front porch was absolutely incredible. The live in attendant was as sweet as she could be. She had several local activities and restaurants to recommend. The maintanance man was incredibly friendly and kind. The room was lovely and quaint and beautiful, and had its own little kitchen. Everything about our experience was a delight. The counter girl even called to ask if we would like to extend our stay before she put the last room on Expedia. We absolutely recommend the seashell beach resort to anyone looking for a quaint, beautiful, studio hotel in Marathon.

This place feels like a Keys hotel. It’s an older building, like most non-chain hotels in the Keys, painted blue and white, with a sand parking lot amidst the palm trees where the spaces are sectioned off by giant rocks. We stayed in Room #9, which was on the second floor and had a sliding glass door that led out to the shared balcony overlooking the beach. A staircase at the end of the balcony allows you to access the beach without having to go out the front door and walk around the building to the back. Chairs are set out on the sand, and a hammock swings between two palm trees(although if the wind is blowing, you may have to catch it before you can use it!). There’s a dock out back that you can walk to the end of, where you’ll find some places to sit and a small hut covering a picnic table. The room was surprisingly big, and included a kitchen with sink, microwave, fridge, etc. It wasn’t the world’s most comfortable bed(another thing that I’ve come to expect in many of the area hotels for some reason), but I did sleep through the night with hardly any tossing and turning so I guess it couldn’t have been THAT bad. It’s not that far of a drive to Sombrero Beach, and then slightly further to Sunset Grille, where you can watch the sunset at the base of the 7 Mile Bridge while eating dinner and/or having a few drinks. You can go to the check-in desk for suggestions. If you’re visiting from a big city, don’t forget to go outside late at night, sit in a chair on the beach area, and look up!
