Marek’s Bar & Bistro

We’ve been every year since we discovered this gem of a place. Intimate and lovely. Absolutely delicious food. Very consistent with great service. Each time I’m in Marco island I will return.

I like the rest arrant and our server was good but this place disappoints. There are really very few English dishes on the menu, there are NO English beers, not even bottled, and honestly they really need to lose the English claim and just say it’s American. I think they need to change the chef and and take a fresh look at their product.

These people are extremely rude and I would never set foot in their restaurant again! Don’t waste your time as there are more friendlier restaurants on the island with much better food. The hostess treated my family like second class citizens and I assure you we can afford to eat at the finest establishments. To the owner, you need to get a clue. It’s obvious from the reviews I’ve seen here and elsewhere that you have a real problem.

We dined here last year and had a fabulous meal.
Last night with high expectations we ordered the stuffed shrimp wrapped with bacon. It seems like the Schwann man had delivered the meal. Heavy breading and salty. Very disappointed.

Four of us dined this past Tuesday. Great experience. We had sea bass, pompano, snapper and pork. All were excellent. The layout is beautiful. Our server, Chrystle (spelling?) was terrific. Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants.

Food was excellent but unfortunately service was lacking. Waiter very knowledgeable and pleasant but non-​attentive. Did not receive ordered appetizers, water never refilled, never asked about another drink and then asked about dessert, brought menu and disappeared for 10 – 15 minutes. Decided not to order dessert and asked for bill. Another 5 minutes. Disappointed.

We drove down from Naples and we’re not disappointed. The Pear Salad was fabulous. Paired with the Blackened Fish Taco, which was equally delicious, it was the perfect amount of food. Friendly staff, knowledgeable servers, wonderful food and a great atmosphere.. . can’t wait to go back.

Our group arrived at Marek’s at 5:30. We sat at the bistro bar and our bartender was Q. Best bartender on Marco Island, period. The staff is wonderful, very accommodating.
Our waiter, Sean, was sooo good. There were eleven of us ladies, and we all requested separate checks! Sean took everyone’s order and no mistakes were made, neither in the orders, nor on the checks. His patience in answering questions about the menu was zen-​like.
The meals were all good.
The standouts were the chicken liver pâté, the sautéed red snapper and the warm chocolate lava cake.
A most enjoyable restaurant. Great ambience. Well worth an evening out. One of the best restaurants on Marco Island.

We had a wonderful meal at Merek’s

Marek’s is situated in a 1800’s historical house. We sat in the porch where the weather was just wonderful. We ordered one of the specials and the fish and chips. They both were delicious. I had the warm almond and feta salad. It was great as well. The ambiance we loved, our waiter was nice and the hostess very friendly. Every one around us seemed to be enjoying their food.
Over all we liked the place!

My girlfriend and I stopped in here for our date night on Monday night. I’ve been coming to Marco since I was a baby but have never stopped into to Marek’s. The menu looked good and we wanted seafood so we decided to give it a shot. We arrived at about 7pm and we were given the option of sitting inside or outside, we chose inside.
Our server came promptly and offered us drinks. My girlfriend went with the Berry Blush Bellini and I got my second choice of beers (they were out of the Naples IPA). Both were tasty and well priced. We decided that the calamari was a good way to start, so we opted for that as our appetizer. It was good but nothing to write home about.
We were recommended multiple entrees by our server (who was very knowledgeable about the menu). I opted for the grouper banana. The fish was cooked perfect and it laid on top of sautéed vegetables and had a yellow rice side. It all worked perfectly together, especially the vegetables which were wonderful. The topper on mine was a Myers rum purée that was a good complement to the fish. My lady ordered the Crab stuffed jumbo shrimp that was wrapped in bacon. LOVED IT. I’m not going to lie, I wish I would have ordered this meal, it was hard for her to even give me a second bite. The entrée came with three large bacon wrapped shrimps and the same sides as on my plate. Her plate did not mix as well with the sides but it didn’t matter as the shrimps were awesome!
We definitely enjoyed our meal at Marek’s, we had great food and also had great service. I would recommend that you eat outside if you get the chance as our table was not in the greatest area and it was a tad loud on the inside. Besides that you can’t go wrong with this place!

Great atmosphere! Ate on porch with wonderful music. Life is good! Definitely one of our favorites!
If you are a fan of liver, yum! I get it every time!

Very solid food and execution, good service. Went on a Tuesday evening. Duck flatbread, crab cakes, crispy Asian beef, all were excellent. Nice desserts too. A bit on the noisy side but not onerously so. Prices were reasonable given the quality of food and the tourist area.

Oh my glob. this place is SO LOUD. All wood, obviously no thought put into softening the sound. So my family and I had to basically yell from across the table to hear each other. My mom and I had headaches.
I got the mussels and the veggie flatbread. The mussels were good but the sauce was obviously very fattening. Also the mussels were cracked so I’d dig in the bottom of the dish for a mussel and end up with some shell. Ew. The flatbread was good but nothing truly exciting. My dad got the filet which was delish, but the mushroom sauce wasn’t too good. My mom had short ribs and thought they were a bit Fatty. Our server was awkward. Overall ok food but nothing special.

Outstanding! Wide ranging menu. We chose seafood (crab stuffed shrimp Florida lobster tail and snapper) but other menu items like braised short ribs sounded enticing. Nice wine list to compliment the meal. Service was excellent — Peter was attentive and helpful. Delicious food, top notch service — our evening was a winner. The outside music was a nice bonus — not too loud to interfere with conversation.

Great casual vibe. Friendly staff, from check in to bar to server. Sit at the bar for a friendly chat and food or larger groups in the main bar area. Refurbished nicely and good food! «Stacked potatoes» are great! Tuna appetizer is a great start.

Walked in, but would highly recommend a reservation. We sat outside in the beastly sun, but our waiter saved us with a giant umbrella! Spicy shrimp, grouper, sea bass, key lime pie… all very excellent! Serenaded with live music as a bonus — what a great evening!

Live music on Tuesdays and Fridays during season and Fridays only during the off season. Reservations strongly recommended. Outdoor seating on patio and lower street level. Happy hour drinks. Lots of nightly specials.

Tried to walk in without a reservation. The place is completely empty. Seriously empty. Asked for a table and they offered one in the blazing sun. Nope doesn’t really feel like a customer friendly place!

The food at Marek’s is really solid. I think their fish dishes are creative enough and consistently good. Not the best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life, but certainly far from the worst! Any time anyone (read: grandparents) suggests going, I’m in for sure. Marek’s falls among my top 5 restaurant choices in Marco.
