Hands down best restaurant in Maricopa! Great food large portions & fairly priced. Beautiful art workings to make for a amazing atmosphere. Friendly staff, great patio & bar. The food is fantastic! Every time I come here I am never disappointed! My daughter had the fajita burrito today and stated it was a piñata of Meat!

My family and I have been here several times. When they first opened I definitely felt there was room for improvement. I strongly believe they listened to their customers and made those changes. I usually order the Chicken Fajita burrito. It is my favorite and very tasty. Their Margaritas are a little pricey just as everywhere else, however they are strong and big enough to where I just need one with my meal. I would recommend to everyone that has been and wasn’t impressed to give them another try! The staff also has always been very accommodating.

Awful. The ground beef tastes like it is from taco bell, the cheese is over processed, the chicken does not taste like chicken, and the chips can’t help this salsa out. That is just the food, I won’t get into the service without personality here. Never coming back!

Went in here service was slow and kind of rude, if that makes any sense? The salsa brought out with the chips was not to my taste watery almost sweet! My wife ordered the fajitas and the onions were not done properly and it was just not seasoned properly. Not too impressed unfortunately Maricopa has very little options for sit down restaurants. Not too impressed haven’t been back I’ll stick to penascos!

I was so hoping this would be a great place to eat. We really need a good Mexican restaurant in Maricopa. The service was great on the chips and hot sauce– brought to us quickly. The waiter was sullen– he did get a little more pleasant towards the end of our meal. The beans were okay, but not special. I had the cheese enchiladas, and I am not sure what exactly was in them. I prefer cheese and onion, but the cheese filling didn’t seem to be pure cheese(kind of mealy). The shredded beef taco was okay. My husband didn’t care for the food at all. He thought it was processed not prepared from scratch. When you go to a restaurant everything should be made from scratch.

So glad there is a semi-decent Mexican place in ‘Copa. The food(minus the terrible refried beans and hose tap water) is generally good. Chile Colorado and Chile Verde are both tasty, the fajitas are decent, the fundido is gloriously fattening and good. However, the service after opening was nice, but as time has gone on the service makes me really reconsider coming here as it always borders on rude and abrasive.

First let me start by saying, I came here about a month after they opened in Maricopa, and it was awful! Every bad review was fairly accurate. I had absolutely no plan to return. Now, here we are @ 5 months plus later, I live in Maricopa and am hungry. I figured I would try again, order something different and see what happens. The first time I ordered fajitas, so needless to say, I was not expecting much from this experience either. I was prepared for rude/slow service, watery, heavily odd spiced flavored salsa, boxed tasting rice and canned beans accompanying whatever bland tasting, rubbery tortilla having main dish. However, what I experienced was a friendly, attentive staff. I was seated immediately, and within minutes fresh chips and slightly better salsa at my table. I ordered seafood chimichangas(have been back several times and between myself and family we have ordered all of the seafood and fajitas). All have been absolutely wonderful, even the accompanying rice and beans were good. Guacamole is very good as well. I spoke with a Manager by the name of Miguel. He confirmed he had in fact seen the negative reviews and has listened and tried to correct our complaints. In my honest opinion, he really did. If like myself you tried this place around the time they opened, had an awful experience as I did, perhaps you may want to try them again. We have very limited restaurant’s in Maricopa, so it is nice to have one that is really trying to make us happy!

Figuring we’d waited enough time for PB to overcome some(hopefully) opening glitches we dropped in for a quick happy hour beverage & appetizer. As others have mentioned we asked for the hotter salsa, and both the red and green versions were MUCH better than their standard soupy-salsa. Unfortunately our Super Beef Nachos were delivered minus the beef — so they were just bean & cheese nachos. The beans were actually pretty good, and the cheese was melted to the point of being slightly crusty — yummy. To me though, nachos should always have jalapenos. The accompanying guac was really good. As for the service, well the waiter was really apologetic when we asked for the beef surcharge to be removed from the bill. In fact he went and hollered at the chef, but in my opinion, this was as much his fault as the kitchen’s as, while they made it, he took the order and delivered it. Had the place been swamped we might have understood — but we were the only ones in the restaurant — and we only ordered one dish — and they got it wrong?!

We’ve dined several times at Plaza Bonita in Maricopa. The food and service have been consistently great. We’ll be back on a regular basis.

Went there for the first time today and was not satisfied. Margaritas are the size of a kids drink and the food tasted pretty bad. Once again tried another Arizona Mexican restaurant and was disappointed.

Terrible deep fried ice cream. Diet taco salad was pretty good. The fajita burrito on the menu neglects to warn you about the beans rice onions and peppers. My mother in law said it was OK but nothing spectacular. I might come back for a drink at the bar and for the Chips and salsa but for the food most likely not.

Service was very slow. We arrived at 4:45PM on Wednesday. It took 5 min for anyone to come to our table. Our drink orders didn’t arrive until 3 min before our food, even after reminding the waiter three times. They got our orders wrong for two of the four of us. They asked if we wanted more chips. We said yes, but didn’t get more for 15 min. The food was good, for the most part, but if the service doesn’t improve, they won’t make it. I would have given them one star, if they had been open longer, but I know there will be some growing pains and expected improvement.

Just alright… I’m not a hater; Chips were good, but, the«salsa» was a bit more like«taco sauce». Frijoles were runny, rice was okay. Chicken taco and chili relleno were the best things our small group tried enchiladas, shredded beef burritos and so on. All getting a taste. Being from SoCal, my Mexican food«bar» is higher than most. My work travels thru New Mexico and Arizona have just added to my palate. Owner advise; As the Teakwoods before it’s problem(GET A WATERFILTER!) the water taste like it came from a garden hose, it trully does effect anything you make with that crappy water, both food and beverages. BTW– Be careful, the skim coat on the concrete is slick! My wife almost ate it.

I’m not sure where to start. I guess I had my hopes up because there are few good places to sit down and enjoy a meal here in Maricopa. We went during their soft open, they officially open tomorrow. So I truly hope that they are able to pull through and elevate their food. The chips were bland and their salsa was little more than tomato sauce with a couple of chunks of onion. I ordered the Tres Amigos which had chile rellano, chile verde, and chile Colorado. The pork was tough, but the verde sauce was nice. The chile Colorado was bland and even though the beef was tender, it lacked flavor. The chile rellano was ok. I did feel that the breading was too thick, but thankfully the cheese was tasty. The refried beans reminded me of baby food. Pureed beans thinned with a bit of water. The rice was mediocre at best. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas. He was unimpressed. Our server was prompt, but I seriously think he was high. Cocaine is a hell of a drug I hear. The wall décor is fun, though the elk head leftover from when the space was Teakwood’s was a bit odd. :)

My wife and I were excited to see an new restaurant pop up where the old Teakwoods once was and were hopeful that it would really be a competitor to Penascos. My overall review of Plaza Bonita is that it is painfully average and incredibly underwhelming. This is nothing more than an standard run of the mill Mexican restaurant. That would not be a bad thing if they really nailed the food; which they didn’t. The first thing I noticed was that the chips and salsa that came out were sub par. The chips were very thick and oily and the Salsa was completely liquid, no chunk of any kind save a few pieces of onion floating inside. Mind you this was supposed to be garden salsa, which should be very chunky, not a chipotle that one would expect to be without chunk. I ordered the Enchiladas Deluxe and when I asked if they could put Carne Asada inside instead of shredded beef. I was told they had no Carne Asada, so I went with chicken… Good thing I didn’t go with my initial thought which was Carne Asada tacos. When the plate arrived immediately I noticed that the refried beans were like purée so they were runny and I am fairly sure they were out of a can. The rice was bland and again tasted like something seasoned with a pre-packaged seasoning mix. The enchiladas were… enchiladas… but the tortillas were thick and spongy so they also didn’t earn high marks. Everyone else I was with had about the same impression with their meals. The food wasn’t terrible but it was just something you can get at any Mexican restaurant, both sit down and drive thru, and was not executed well. I can go anywhere and get Mexican food so why would I choose to spend money at just another Mexican restaurant when I can choose Penascos, On the Border, Macayos, Blue Adobe Grill, etc? All said in hindsight I would have rather taken my money to Fredricos and spent about 1⁄5 the price… Hell at least at Fredricos I know they are going to have Carne Asada.
