The poutine is the die for! I absolutely love it! I used to live around the corner from here but have since moved. I had the chance to come back to town for work and this was a must stop!

We learned about Chicken and the Egg at the Taste of Marietta festival where they were our first and last stops of the day. One bite of the chicken sliders, and we were sold. Brunch in the full restaurant the following week didn’t disappoint. The donuts were delicious, and the chicken remained on point. I felt like the poutine could stand to lose 1 – 2 ingredients, but I’m sure there are plenty of people who would disagree.

Made a birthday reservation here for Saturday brunch where the party went from 6 to 10 and they were incredibly flexible and welcoming. The food is delicious and plentiful and the mimosas were well mixed and kept on coming. Our server was fantastic and the entire staff gave us a wonderful experience. I’ve been looking for a good brunch place and this is it! Thanks!

Saturday Brunch: Biscuit and gravy appetizer: 3 warm buttermilk biscuits in a white gravy, needed additional black pepper but that’s a result of my own neurosis about the proper technique for sawmill gravys. Fried Chicken and Biscuits: 2 chicken cutlets fried in a buttermilk batter, served in buttermilk biscuits, 2 eggs any style and hashbrown casserole. The chicken was crispy and moist and the eggs were a perfect sunny side up. The hashbrown casserole can always use more black pepper.

A friend and I came here for Sunday Brunch after reading reviews on Unilocal. We were looking for somewhere with a great menu and bottomless mimosas and we definitely found it. There was a 15 – 20 min wait around 1:45, which I expected, but we scored great seats at the bar so we opted for those. We both had the Snickerdoodle French toast which was DELICIOUS. They made an accommodation and substituted a side for my friend who doesn’t eat meat. Bottomless mimosas were only $ 10, and the bartender didn’t even let our glasses get empty before she refilled them. The service was friendly, the place is so cute, décor was stylish and the menu was not only wonderful in variety but the prices were great. I can’t wait to return!

I came here for brunch and I am very pleased with the food. We sat at the bar and ordered chicken biscuit, poutin and BLT. Every bite of the food was delicious. The restaurant from the inside is pretty and clean. My only concern was the service. The bartender seemed annoyed all the time and wasn’t attentive. She forgot to bring us biscuits, butter and jam when we were seated and she never refilled our coffee or water unless we asked. I want to come to this place again and try everything on the menu because so far what they serve has been amazing.

The 3.5 rating here is extremely accurate. We came here for Sunday brunch excited to try the biscuits. When we first called they were extremely busy, but by 1pm it clears out a bit and there was barely a wait to get our table. When we sat down we immediately noticed that 2 out of 3 glasses on the table were dirty(obvious lip marks, another one with a piece of food) but our waitress replaced them right away after we pointed it out. The Bloody Marys were decent, but the portions were surprisingly small. My bayou omelet was tasty but tiny(all the pictures here on Unilocal are kind of misleadingly close-up), and we had to order additional biscuits to fill up. Seems like most people were there for the bottomless mimosas. Good for: boozy mimosa brunch, groups, the ambiance Not so good for: hungry people, germaphobes

This is what I would call a hidden gem! This restaurants location can slightly be thrown off as another typical shopping center eatery but don’t be fooled for one second. Upon entry, you will fall head over heels with their décor. The setup is so sexy and modern. They took a «homestyle meets new millennium» approach in their design and laid it out with very cool shades of blue. Service: Impeccable! What more can I say. The host was very welcoming and our wait staff was friendly and helpful in making recommendations from the menu. Prices: Very reasonable and certainly in line with the portion sizes. I would rate the prices as $$/$. They offer a 2 for $ 25 special in which you share 1 appetizer, each person selects 1 entrée from their special menu, and 2 desserts. This was very filling and the options to choose from was really good. We decided on the Chicken Poutine for the appetizer at the suggestion of our wait staff and we were not disappointed at all. This was a hearty comfort dish that brought back memories of home. Our entrée was the Fried Catfish and Chips, served with some of the creamiest and tastiest coleslaw! It was amazing. Dessert was the Apple Pie with Ice Cream and a Cookies and Cream pudding. Yummy! Hands down, this restaurant and their team is winning in my book. I will certainly return to try their brunch.

So… I was discouraged when we pulled up, however the inside is cute. Our server was a little too chatty. The food was actually delicious and my husband & I were looking forward to going back and trying new dishes, but… THEISSUE We used Open Table to make this reservation. I have never had a problem with Open Table before. A few days later we received an e-mail about not honoring our reservation. I let them know this was not the case and supplied them with info on exactly what we ordered. Keeping in mind that there was only one other couple seated at a booth and possibly two people at the bar… The restaurant should have been able to locate our receipt and rectify the issue. But oh no, they challenged it. At first we decided to just never go back and cut our losses, but then I decided Open Table should know the truth about what they were dealing with at this establishment. We had to show bank statement documentation as proof that we honored our reservation. Open Table apologized. The Chicken and the Egg, not even a peep.

We started with the fried green tomatoes as an app as we always do and they did not disappoint. A great sauce and a sweet onion jam go great with the lightly breaded tomatoes. My friend has the fried chicken — moist, crispy and great flavor. Great creamy mashed potatoes and collards that were both sweet and a little vinegary, if that’s a word! I had the shrimp and Gouda grits — grits were awesome. The sauce was a little too tart and the shrimp were actually a little tough. The rolls and sorghum molasses butter were great as well.

I was invited here with a group of friends for a birthday brunch. Normally I would never venture for brunch outside the perimeter but duty calls. Right away all the wait staff and hostesses are extremely friendly and welcoming. The ambience and décor of the dining hall is very exquisite as well. I love the sophisticated country aesthetic that they emphasized throughout the whole space. Everything has a very cohesive flow and I really appreciate that tables are not too close to each other like some restaurants seem to do. $ 10 for bottomless mimosas is such a good deal. And the food that I had was tasty and fresh as well, Florentine Eggs Benedict. All the dishes that were brought out for me and my friends orders looked delicious and amazing as well and there was not one single complaint from the experience we had there.

This was our first time coming to Chicken and the Egg. Last time we were in this area, we decided to eat at Gabriel’s instead. HUGEMISTAKE. If you have to choose between the two, choose Chicken and the Egg! We started off with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese. Both were phenomenal. I liked the celery with the pimento cheese. I ordered the garden omelette with hash brown casserole and was very pleased. The omelette isn’t like your typical«folded-over» omelette. It is more open faced with all the veggies, cheese, etc. on top. Still delicious! My husband had the chicken and waffles and ate every bite. He didn’t share because it was so good. Our service was also good. I see some people talking about how the service is inconsistent. We didn’t experience that. My only wish is that they would bring one closer to Smyrna!!!

I tried this place for brunch the other day and it was very very good. We came for Sunday Brunch, and there was a pretty good crowd here, but plenty of open seats, I imagine it getting the most crowded around noon. I tried the blue plate special and it was good. It wasn’t unique or anything, but it is hard to make eggs bacon grits and a biscuit super unique. I will say, the grits were my favorite part of this plate. They were perfectly creamy, however they did get cold really fast once I was served my plate. If you decide to try this place out, you should definitely get the fried chicken biscuits. My boyfriend ordered them and they were so delicious, they come with two rather large biscuits with big pieces of chicken on them. If I come back, this is definitely what I will be ordering! The atmosphere here is very cool, the decorations are really cute. I was surprised by the location though. The service here was a friendly, however a little slow at times, but it wasn’t a \big deal on Sunday brunch when you should be relaxing anyways.

I have only ever been here for brunch, so I can’t judge the rest of the menu. My experience here was ok, but I wasn’t wowed. I felt like there was a lot of hype around this restaurant and it didn’t quite live up to it, unfortunately. The location is tough to get to from the Perimeter area. It is way in the heart of Marietta and the restaurant is located in a strip mall. However, once you’re inside, the interior is decorated beautifully. They do have bottomless mimosas, but… like so many restaurants offering bottomless mimosas, you get more orange juice than bubbly. Seriously, after about 6 mimosas, I shouldn’t be able to stand upright anymore. The food is decent. I’ve had the eggs benedict before, which are very good. But my favorite was the«Afternoon Nap», which is oh so appropriately named. Every time I’ve been here, though, there’s always been some issue. Either they forgot something on the order or brought something incorrect to the table, eggs not cooked correctly, etc. It felt like a lack of communication between the staff and the kitchen. Definitely make a reservation here, otherwise you’ll be waiting for a very long time. Thankfully, they can be found on OpenTable.

My partner and I live in West Cobb. So(seriously) we drive by this location(on Whitlock), twice a day. We’d never given it a chance or stopped by. Let me explain what a profound mistake that this was. Last Saturday, we went to «Atlanta Eats» and had the opportunity to sample some of the fare. And with the first taste(of Gouda Grits and Braised Beef Short Ribs and Gouda Grits, we knew we had to try. Flash forward one week. My partner’s mother is in town and we wanted somewhere to try for brunch. So, we took the opportunity to try. The building is unassuming. And what I mean by «unassuming» is that it’s kinda boring and non descript. That impression changes the second that you walk through the door. It’s absolutely charming and open. The decorations don’t make you feel cramped and there is simply no way that you’d know that you’d stepped into a strip mall. But that is just to start. The staff is on it. They’re attentive … they’re friendly and they are«genuinely» concerned about the customers experience. I had the Breakfast Poutine. For those that are unaware, it’s kinda a Canadian thing. Honestly, it is a Canadian thing. It hails from Quebec. And this version is probably the most upscale and delicious version that you’ll find in the United States. Home made cheddar tater tots, shaved chicken, garlic, caramelized onion, thyme roasted mushrooms, chicken gravy, fried local farm egg and buttermilk biscuit with fresh sorghum butter and preserves. Dear Gawd … I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. My partner got the french toast and chicken. Delicate, light and fluffy french toast. Perfectly cooked fried chicken and maple syrup. It was very good. My mother in law received a serving of biscuits and gravy. A plate filled with two biscuits and heaping portions of home made sausage gravy. It(too) was wonderful. All in all … this place is a win win. The entire dining experience was something special. And I can assure you that we’ll be back for dinner.

Hash brown Casserole!!! While heading to Gabriel’s for brunch, we realized they were closed on Sunday’s, so we ended up at this spot and I could not have been happier. I have been wanting to try this place since I moved to Cobb County over 2 years ago. We were greeted and seated right away, I must say I was impressed. I absolutely love the décor and seating, and the round booths & natural lighting gives the place a warm and inviting feeling. Our waiter was extremely patient and very nice. I ordered coffee to drink and he brought out all the fixing, and kept my cup full. The menu was simple, but great. I was torn between the Blue Plate and the Afternoon Nap, both were great options, but I decided on the Blue Plate, thinking I didn’t need both grits and hash browns(I wanted double hash brown casserole after tasting it, but I didn’t want to seem greedy — lol). The Blue Plate came with a choice of(chicken or pork) sausage or bacon, two eggs, hash brown casserole or grits and a biscuit. I decided on bacon and the casserole, and let me tell you… They didn’t not disappoint, the hash brown casserole was definitely the star of the show, small, but packs a big punch, lots & lots of creamy flavor. My Hunni ordered some type of cast iron skillet dish, it had every breakfast item you can think of(I’m just guessing) layered on top of biscuits and covered with gravy(just sounds good right???). Shockingly, he couldn’t finish it all, truth be told I was sold on this dish after seeing the huge chunks of potatoes, eggs and sausage as he begin to dig into it. I will definitely try it on my next visit. We like this place, can’t wait to try the dinner menu.

It’s hard to choose from 5 starts. 1 – 10 I would probably give it a 6.5… I went to this restaurant on a Thursday because of the dinner for $ 25. The deal includes 1 entrée + 2 meals + 2 desserts which is a good deal if you pay attention to the price of the other things in this restaurant. The food was okay… My entrée and dessert were the best part of the night BUT the meals on the other hand, were not that great. It honestly tasted like something anyone could make at home, if not better. Fried chicken and meatloaf plate both were kind of a disappointment. Not a lot of flavor. Taste not unique or good for being at a restaurant at all. The desserts for me werethe best! I am a chocolate lover and loved every bite of it. The banana pudding was delicious as well. The restaurant definitely looks nice… It’s exactly what it says outside«modern southern». take into consideration: — food is more expensive and not it’s not unique so maybe not worth the price… If you want to give it a try you should consider going on Thursday night and get the $ 25 deal that way you get to try a lot and decide if this is a restaurant you would like to go back to

I found this place after going to Corkscrews and Canvas for my mom’s birthday party and saw that they had farm to table food so I had to try it. The place is beautiful but huge — maybe too huge as I’ve never seen it very full(granted I’ve only been there twice). I saw poutine on the menu and immediately knew we had to order it. Unfortunately, it’s a take on poutine that is still good but not nearly as good as others I’ve had. This poutine is made with tater tots instead of fries. They also use chicken gravy instead of duck fat gravy and nothing is better than duck fat. I had the hanger steak — I wasn’t a big fan of the chimicurri they had on top of it, but the steak was cooked correctly(medium rare) and the side veggies were also good. The next time I went I ordered the burger and it definitely hit the spot, but the bun was kind of a throw away — it was a little too soft to hold up to the burger and didn’t do much for me. I would definitely return though as they know how to cook their meat here which sadly is not true of a lot of places! Farms they source from include Ashley Farms, Riverview Farms, Sweetgrass Dairy and White Oak Pastures via
