China Doll

Love this place! I order delivery ALL the time and all the time I’m always happy and satisfied. Foods always fresh and delivered on time. I don’t think I have anything bad to say about this place, which is good.
I know one thing, their food & prices are MUCH BETTER AND ACCESSIBLE than the food from Great Wall (across the street).

I would love to tell you how the food was but although I was promised a 30 – 45 minute wait on the delivery time, 2 hours later nothing has arrived. They told me over an hour ago that the food left the store and was on its way. It is only 5 miles away. I don’t want food that isn’t fresh. I have canceled my order.

I don’t get the bad reviews? Lol… We went there for a late lunch today. It turns out, the dishes are way better tasting than the «Great Wall» place right across the street and cheaper!!!
The store front is very small and not fancy, so a lot of people may assume it is only a take out or delivery place, but it is not. The place has a very nice and big indoor space with enough tables, booth, and private areas for pretty much all occasions.
We ordered two dishes, Snow White chicken extra spicy, and princess chicken. Hot and sour soup for two. The service was very very quick, the wait staff was very nice too, all spoke very good English. Hot and sour soup was just right amount of spicy and sourness. fresh tofu inside and bamboo shoots. the Snow White chicken came out with nice garlicky tasty tasty white sauce, and their meats are all high quality thick cut white meat!!! They use fresh vegetables and no canned veggies at all, maybe except the bamboo slices and water chestnuts. Princess chicken was cooked in a nice brown sauce with fresh broccolis. My husband liked it a lot as well. They both came with either white and fried rice.
We enjoyed this place very much, but it was a Sunday afternoon, so there was no lunch special or dinner combo available. We are definitely coming back especially for their large lunch selections and awesome prices. $ 6.25 — $ 7.25 I believe. Some items are even from the chef special section. Dinner combo seems like a very good deal too! $ 9.95 you get to pick a dish, an appetizer, and a soup and rice. Anything over u just pay the difference.
Overall. We were very impressed with this place especially I was under the impression that this was a take out only place. Yummy food with great service. Much better than Great Wall in many ways!!! Can’t believe we didn’t come sooner!!!

The food was alright and timing was suitable for the price. The only problem was I don’t understand how you can mess up the easiest part of the order. Fried won tons. Barely anything inside and completely over-​cooked. I ordered sweet and sour chicken to be safe as a first time buyer. Mistake to add on. I walked in to pick up my order and I was the only person inside. I feel either I got old food about to be thrown away. Or I got old food because they weren’t going to make it fresh for me. I doubt I will be back. One small thing can make or break a business

It’s tempting to not keep China Doll on Speed Dial, but they really do have good Chinese food. Chinese food that you can actually eat the next day and not worry about getting sick. Chinese food that you can tell must have come from a chicken breast and not «unknown» origin. I usually order the same thing-​sesame chicken– and its good. Delivery can be a little slow, especially on weekends, so I rather pick it up if I’m that hungry. I believe they are pricier than other Chinese restaurants in the area, but they are better quality. Typically, I’ve spent $ 15 for an entrée, rice, and soup. I usually can eat some and save some for later (large portions). Customer service is OK, I don’t expect much for them other than to bring my food as I ordered it and answer my questions appropriately, which they do. It’s my go to Chinese take-​out/​delivery place for right now.

I have eaten in this restaurant many times over many years and always thought the food was very good and at times even exceptional. We ordered delivery through Grub Hub and were very, very disappointed in the quality of the food. The Crab Rangoon was NOT HOT, NOT EVEN LUKE WARM! The fried rice was like glue, the Honey Walnut Chicken was cold and they sent two orders of the Crab Rangoon instead of one order and the free egg rolls that we used a coupon for. Very disappointed and will not order from here again, thumbs way down on this one.

Great food, however, I’ve never been so disrespected. Had the delivery guy come to my door and ask why I never tip him!!! Excuse me? I order from here ALL THE TIME! He always comes with an attitude! I can’t believe he actually said that too me and almost started an argument with me? I’m a single mom, so for some man to come at me that way, I’m definitely going to find another chinese place.

Good decent food for an East Cobb restaurant. Delivery was fast and the food was still hot when we were ready to eat. We ordered the combination plates and the entrees were delicious. The fried rice was really just mediocre but we don’t order for the rice. Both the egg rolls and spring rolls were good and not greasy.
I compare this place with Three Colors Asian Kitchen because they are very similar. They both offer dinner combination plates and the price is just a little more at China Doll for the same combination plate. Combo plate with Moo goo gai pan at China Doll = $ 9.95 and Three Colors = $ 7.95. China Doll does offer more entrees to select from .
On an unrelated note when I called in the order the lady asked me to hold and didn’t mute while she joked and chatted with a customer while I was on the line. Not very polite but after reading a few of the reviews I was not surprised.

THIS SHOULD BE 3.5 STARS BUT CAN’T FIGURE HOW TO DO IT! I am skeptical about places that often publish coupons but had an unplanned crowd for dinner, am on a budget and had no energy to cook. When we arrived at 8:00pm last Friday night there was exactly 1 other diner in the restaurant. My instinct was to bolt-​stat! The hungry masses I call framily blocked me and for that I am glad. We started with 1 order of chicken and corn soup which was big enough for all 9 to share. The follow up chicken basil curry, sesame chicken, broccoli and beef, and steamed veggies with chicken entrees were all prepared well, presented nicely with very fresh vegetables and tasty sauces. I have paid much more for worse chinese food so encourage locals to give China Doll a try. You must bring your own fun and ambience but the reasonable, very good food and pleasant, efficient service will make for an enjoyable evening. BONUS-​they gave my coupon back to use again. I say YES! ~SHD

Reasonably priced. Good food. Friendly wait staff. One of the best Chinese restaurants in Cobb County.

I am very picky when it comes to my Chinese food, especially chicken. Most times when I eat Chinese food I get the weird pieces of chicken that have those gross fatty parts in it that I HATE!
China Doll actually uses REAL, WHITE, NO FAT chicken which I LOVE. I always order Teryaki Chicken (lunch special), my favorite. Normally go around 1pm solo, get seated quickly, get the food quickly, great staff. No complaints. Definitely a regular here :)

I’m pretty boring, I get the same order every time no matter what Chinese food place I order from so I have a lot to compare to. Being from NY originally, I use to love eating in China Town and know good food. With that being said:
Positives:
Less expensive than other restaurant’s in the area that offer Chinese cuisine
Sweet and Sour sauce is the best I’ve had in GA, great mix of sweet and sour flavor
Delivery was fast and the drivers are friendly
Negatives:
Chicken to veggie rato is off, so if you want sweet and sour chicken you will get sweet and sour veggies with chicken
Fried rice has no flavor, I’m use to fried egg and veggies in the rice but this (as all GA spots I’ve tried) is plain rice fried.
The egg rolls and egg drop soup are okay, nothing to rave about but nothing bad. I hope this helps!

You know that old adage «You can never go home again», well I have to use it in application of my experience at China Doll. Let me preface, I grew up on Powers Ferry for years, and used to dine with the family here all the time back in its mid 90’s-early 00′ heyday. But apparently those glory days are long gone (much like everything else in the surrounding Delk/​PF area)
I called ahead at around 7:00pm on Sunday night to stop in for my favorite Chinese, I was told «We close at 9» .GREAT, I can dine and won’t keep anybody waiting by camping. However, I arrive to the practically abandoned shopping center and was surprised to find I was the LONE customer. «Take Out???» (Never a welcoming address). I was seated at a booth and then had the hostess and lone server have a banter in Mandarin, obviously they wanted to close early. The obliged, and the food was still on point… but I felt very unwelcomed.

I don’t know whats wrong with some of the other reviewers here but this place rocks. The food is awesome the owners are really nice as well. We go here all the time and will continue to.

Hidden gem. Every dish is prepared to the highest standards. Food is always hot and very tasty. Appearance of food is very appetizing

My hubby told me he was taking me out for Mothers Day lunch and I could choose any kind of food I wanted, so I said «I would love to have chinese». He took me here to China Doll and it was wonderful! We had egg drop soup and egg rolls for appitizers, and shrimp with lobster sauce for the entre and some hot tea to drink. It was so delicious! The tea was hot and good, the egg drop soup was thick and rich and the egg rolls were crispy and fresh! The shrimp with lobster sauce was so yummy and full of perfectly cooked juicy shrimp! The owner Judy was so wonderful to us and the servicee was fantastic! Judy gave us each a piece of coconut cake that was so moist and delicious and it was compliments of her!!! I would definately recommend this place to my friends and family, and we will definately go see Judy again to eat at her great restaraunt!!!

Ate here today because it was in the same strip mall as the hair salon I was going to.
Horrible.
Grumpy, irritable wait staff.
Inflated prices.
Awful food.
I actually paid $ 9.40 for a kid’s meal and a small iced tea. And I ate two bites of sweet n sour chicken and had to toss the rest of my meal — including the tea.
And I was pretty hungry — I’d skipped breakfast and still couldn’t force this dreck down.
Blech. Blech. Triple Blech.

Make sure you go pick up the food yourself. We waited an hour for delivery when I live about 5 minutes away.
Besides the wait, the food was pretty good. Hot and sour soup was delicious, sesame chicken was good but nothing special. My boyfriend enjoyed his orange chicken and pot stickers.
I would go back, but only for dine-​in or takeout. On the plus side, you can put your order in online. That may have been what slowed down delivery.

Poor service, took over an hour to deliver food about one mile down the road and it was still cold and they forgot my egg rolls.

Salty as hell – fairly mediocre chinese food. My shrimp was a bit fishy-​not at all fresh. The veggies were fresh and crunchy. On the plus side, you can order online on their website and avoid the awkward phone call.
