This place has ‘re-invented’ itself a couple of times — as in — opened under a couple of different names. Or its been leased by multiple dry cleaning tenants — so each time it’s a legitimately brand new company. Who knows? All I know is I first knew it as Three Dollars Cleaners aka $ 3 Cleaners and had followed them from their previous location in the Kroger plaza just a few miles up the road. The owner, at the time, Shane, was awesome. I never had any issues. Then after a few months — it had a new name, Discount Cleaners and a new website. Still no issues at first. But later — I dropped off a comforter and shams — that they RUINED. See pics. I asked for dry cleaning — not plain laundering. And I had actually had it dry cleaned previously, several times, with no issues. The pillows shams and comforters are white with big embroidered flowers, but they have red /piping along the edges. They didn’t clean it properly — either they applied too much dry cleaning solvent — or they did a traditional launder(with detergent and water) because the piping bled all over the shams in several places. I was beyond ANNOYED — but gave them another chance — dropped off some spreads that needed laundering — not dry cleaning — just too bulky for my machine at home. And two Flokati rugs(more than 30 years old bought in Italy by my parents on their 2nd honeymoon). This time — they keep the spreads not 1, not 2, not 3 — but SEVEN days longer than the promised date. The young lady working in the physical store was unapologetic and rude — and I’d decided to never use them again. But the manager called me and apologized — then personally delivered them to my home that Saturday evening. Once I rolled out the rugs — a few days later — I discovered that they had been ruined. When I showed them to my Mother — she said they probably dried them on very high heat which damaged /burned the wool fibers in places — so they simply trimmed /shaved those areas off and hoped I wouldn’t notice. Of course — when I called to report this — the cashier said she would have the manager call me — but I never heard back from them. I guess a sane person — would have never darkened their doorstep again. But I’m either a sucker for punishment — or I’m guilty of hoping, praying, that this business is truly under new management — Magic Dry Cleaners — with a new, competent team of people running the place. So I tried them again: Last week — I dropped off yet another bedspread for cleaning. Admittedly covered in dog hair. The young lady(different from last encounter) working the register was initially very friendly — talked about how she typically has cat hair all over everything, etc. She told me she would roll it with the lint roller, when it was returned, if need be. And she said she’d even snip away any loose strings she found from the dog chewing and scratching. Friday, I called, just based on my history with these folks not having items ready — I called MULTIPLE times — got no answer — no voicemail nothing. But then I realized that I might be dialing the wrong number since they are now known as Magic Cleaners. I finally just drove up there. The cashier was sitting in a chair near the door when I pulled up at the drive thru. She told me the spread wasn’t ready. I asked he why she didn’t call me to let me know? She said she’d just realized it wasn’t here when they did the drop off at 2pm. Keep in mind, at this point — it was 4:30pm and she was sitting, doing nothing when I pulled up. Next — cuz I’m in a b*tchy mood at this point(I’d worked from home — and the ONLY reason I’d even left the house was to come get this spread) — I ask her why no one was answering the phone when I called. First she said I must have dialed the wrong number. SO I showed her my cell phone and asked her if this was the correct number, after peering at my phone for about 20 seconds, and seeing the number with FIVEUNANSWERED calls — she shrugged, «Lady, if I miss a phone call here and there because I have to go to the bathroom — it happens…» Here’s a tip — if you find yourself going to the bathroom 5 times in less than 2 hours — you’re too sick to be at work. Real talk. Before I squealed away from her door — she contradicted herself and tried to tell me that she didn’t send the spread off immediately — because she wanted to vacuum the dog hair off of it before sending it off and that’s why it was late. But if that was the case — shouldn’t you have called me Tuesday to tell me it wasn’t going to be ready on Friday? Wrapping up — I did finally get my spread back the next day at 2pm. No apology for the delay — nothing. The delay — I can deal with — but the delay with no apology, the refusal to answer the phone or set up voicemail, COUPLED with the flippant, cavalier attitude from the young lady working — I’ll never go back there.
