The food here was DELICIOUS and the service was wonderful. Both the owner and the waiter were super friendly. The view from the patio is wonderful as well, right next to the ocean. Although it took a little longer to get our food than I would’ve liked, the quality and taste of the food made up for it. Their patio is also pet friendly for those of you who would like to bring your dogs.

This has to be the worst customer service on the planet. I was there on Father’s day and I noticed a table of 8 talking with the waiter. The next thing you know the owner Stefano comes out yelling at them in front of the entire restaurant. My heart was broken, they seemed like a good family celebrating Fathers day and Stefano ruined it. I have been here several times and will not come back. The daughter started crying and it just broke my heart. Not sure what the reasoning was, maybe he was just racist. Worst of the worst, and I never say that.

I’m not sure what more you could want in a dining experience! It is perfect for a romantic evening, or good for a family meal. The restaurant is right along the marina with spectacular views of boats coming in and the sun setting. The owner of the restaurant makes you feel so welcome from the moment you step foot in the restaurant to when you leave. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating too. They have delicious wine and their food is really amazing. I definitely recommend the chocolate cake for dessert. It’s the perfect place to go for a lovely evening in Marina del Rey. I recommend taking a stroll along the marina, which is literally right outside the restaurant, and looking for some seals and pelicans after your meal!

Had dinner there this past Saturday night. Was able to call a couple hours prior and still get a reservation for 4 by the window. Could tell there were some regulars as the winter seemed to know a lot of the customers. Food was fantastic. The Agnolotti was perfect with plenty of mushrooms. The Braciola was great too. Excellent service.

Just got off the phone with the OWNER of this restaurant who hung up the phone on me. As someone who frequents many restaurants being that I’m a foodie who transplanted here from New York City, I find it incredulous how rude they are to their patrons. I called to confirm a reservation for my birthday(they had no problem taking it two weeks in advanced) the owner said he didn’t know what I was talking about and hung up on me saying that he was«too busy.» This is surprising since it’s a Wednesday night and he explained that they were currently empty, but wouldn’t honor a reservation. Completely understand why the reviews are awful. Not worth the ambiance. Such a shame.

I was on my way to Marina Del Rey in traffic when we pulled over to go to the bathroom(common Bcuz in pregnant) at this restaurant. As I walked in, a gentleman approached me and asked me what I was doing & when I responded that I was going to the bathroom he yelled at me and told me I couldn’t Bcuz it was his restaurant and I had to go in the alley bathroom. At that point, I was so mortified that I became speechless. I was hoping he’d have some sort of common decency & when he didn’t I started hoping he didn’t have a wife. He treated me like he had no respect for women and that he thought we were lesser. He claimed he was the owner but by the way he was acting he had to of been a manager. Clearly, he’s not happy with his job, the way he treated me and innocent patrons was disappointing and should really be examined. He clearly does not like people, shouldn’t be working with people and treats women rudely ! He’s awful & misogynistic! He was an older man, strong accent & looked ethnic. I’m Italian and I couldn’t tell if he was Italian, Iranian or Armenian. Who cares, he was awful &‘should be stopped.

We had a great night eating here. We sat by a window and had great wine and dinner. I ordered the rack of lamb and it was perfectly cooked. My husband had the filet mignon and it was perfectly cooked as well. We both remarked how the fresh baked bread tasted wonderful. They validate parking for two hours. I will definitely come back again. The restaurant is located in Fisherman’s Village. That is where the parking lot is and that is where the restaurant is. Yum Yum.

This place has been one of my boyfriend’s favorite for years and he finally took me and two friends here last night. Three of us had the daily soup special to start and all of us enjoyed it. I had the lasagna for my entrée and thought there was a little too much cheese on top but I still thought it was good — very fresh and traditional. My boyfriend got the chicken wrapped in prosciutto, which I thought was great as well. My two friends split one of the wheat pasta dishes with artichokes and asparagus, which looked amazing. We finished the meal off with the tiramisu; the coffee flavor was stronger than I normally would prefer(I don’t drink coffee) but surprisingly I still liked it. Everything tasted very authentically Italian and homemade. Service was excellent. What more can you ask for?

I had the lentil soup to start, which was good… did not blow me away, but it was made right. For my entrée, I had the special of the day, lobster ravioli. It was very good. Real lobster that tasted fresh and the sauce was not too salty. The sun dried tomatoes sprinkled on the pasta also added a nice sweet taste to the dish. The service was prompt, but that could have been because the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The server was attentive throughout our meal and made sure we were satisfied. I’d return again to try something else on the menu. Overall, I give this restaurant 3.5 stars.

I visited here on Friday 20th November and to be honest I was very disappointed with what I received. To begin with the server brought over a basket of toasted stale bread which only got worse towards the bottom of the basket. This was rather disgusting and wish i hadn’t of had any but i was hungry and i wanted to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. I am not one to complain and didn’t want to cause an awkward atmosphere as i was here with a co-worker who recommended this place. I chose the Penne del Cacciatore from the main dinner menu. According to the description on the menu which is also readable online this dish is described as: «Shaved veal, beef and Italian sausage sautéed with mixed herbs in a red wine, Marsala sauce served over penne pasta» What I received was a load of mince mush. It was quite disgusting and nothing as described. It tasted vile and it was something which had clearly been cooked up days before and it was readliy on hand for the kitchen staff to slop onto plates for diners. This dish was so bad that it even gave me a bout of digestive discomfort during the following days, I can only suspect it was due to this meal and what I ate. My girlfriend had the ‘Farfalle alla Carrettiera ‘. What she was served was essentially processed precooked cubed chicken in a rather bland and tasteless sauce. This again was a disappointment. I shared a tiramisu with my girlfriend and this was brought out on a plate which was very cold. This was probably one of the worst tiramisu’s i have ever had and it was clear to me that this dessert had been plated up and put in the fridge hence the cold plate, again another disappointment, why is this place serving such poor and substandard food to people who visit. Overall this resulted in a negative experience for everyone involved that evening. It is a shame as the marina front is a nice place to visit although the area is looking tired and run down now and restaurants such as this serving bad food and providing poor dining experiences are only adding to the problems. I expect in a few years this place to have closed its doors as it will receive no repeat business from locals as the food is very poor and quite disgusting. I wish we had gone somewhere else that evening although I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.

Honestly, we weren’t expecting much as we came to the Lighthouse Courtyard to listen to our friend’s funk/zydeco band, Jimbodacious, play the afternoon. There was no more seating at the courtyard and we were hungry, so we decided to give this place a try as their patio was perfectly breezy and wonderful for sitting and listening to music that pleasant afternoon. Turns out, the place has some tasty fare; basic, but tasty. I had the lasagne which was large and which I’d declared I wouldn’t be able to finish only to find an empty dish at the end of the band’s set. How’d that happen? Bottomless pit of a stomach is how! The hubby got some gnocchi which was yummy and ultra rich. We also shared this asparagus app that was just great. Service was good but the one gripe I had was that it was a little too expensive for what they were offering. If they knocked off maybe 3 or 4 dollars from their items, I’d have liked this place more. Otherwise, not a bad option in an area that doesn’t have a lot of options.

Had a really great experience at Sapori. There’s a parking lot outside and they validate so you get 2 hours free which was perfect for us. We made a reservation, but there weren’t many people at 7:30 on a Saturday, which was surprising. Nonetheless, I requested an outdoor spot nearer the water and that’s exactly what we got. Right in the marina, it was a beautiful view. I will say that there are dinner cruises and we heard very loud horns a few times which was a large negative. As for the food, we started with the artichoke which was super delicious. It had tons of garlic and parmesan and came with 4 crostinis to put the filling on. I got the seafood linguine with white wine sauce(Tonnarelli Pescatora). The pasta was very al dente and the seafood was very tender. After I finished it, I thought of the perfect idea and used the leftover white wine sauce to dip the complimentary bread. There’s was some debate over dessert, but we decided to get the espresso with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It was a good idea, but I didn’t care much for the espresso. It was a bit overpowering to the dish. I would’ve given this place 5 stars, but it’s nothing that will blow your socks off, just a very calm dinner on the water.

I arrived early for my groups’ reservation and introduced myself to the manager. Since I had just recovered from stomach flu I asked him what he could recommend on the menu that was mild… he did. When the server took my order I asked him to please put the sauce on the side, since it was a pasta entrée he told me that no the chef could not do this. I said to please try since it was a health issue… he brought me the dish and the sauce was on the pasta. I tasted it and it was too strong and gave it back. The manager was close by and asked why I sent it back… I told him and asked for another pasta dish… in front of all my friends he yelled, «Well, I’ll reorder you another dish but you’ll have the same problem… so I canceled that order too. the rest of the evening the staff ignored me even when server was refilling water! When it came to dessert they comped me a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Good Italian food with nice ambiance, great service and within walking distance to my new place… of course I’m going to be a fan. And probably a regular too. We tried Sapori out on a Friday night. I didn’t expect it to be busy but we scored the last marina view table and the place quickly filled up. Next time, I’ll make a reservation. We had an endive salad and shrimp to start. We then shared two pastas — the mushroom agnolotti and the chicken farfalle. Everything was excellent. Great wine list with a lot of by-the-glass options. Service was good despite being so busy and the food still came out at a good pace. We’ll definitely be back!

Rating: 60⁄100 pts Sapori Ristorante has provided a comfortable post-work dinner setting for my company over the past few years. To begin with, the location is superb. It is located right on the marina, and, assuming you are seated outside or by a window, you are treated to a lovely view of the water as you follow the sun down the horizon. You are immediately served with fresh Italian bread, which is fairly average. However, service was not as attentive as I would have hoped, and it took a bit of effort to flag down our waiter and put in our order.(The place was still largely empty at this point.) After finally getting noticed, the waiter introduced the specials of the day. We ended up passing on the Sea Bass entrée special(which I ended up regretting not ordering), but getting the appetizer special: Burrata cheese with prosciutto and arugula. The cheese had a creamy, cloud-like consistency, and was exquisitely complemented by the bitterness from the arugula, salty bite from the prosciutto, and the olive oil drizzled on top. This dish was AMAZING, and having been the first thing we ate(besides the bread), it elevated my expectations for the rest of the meal. If the subsequent dishes had been this good, Sapori would be a shoe-in for 4 stars or higher. Next was our Caprese appetizer and Goat Cheese + Greens(«Sapori») salad. The Caprese was an odd dish: instead of your standard basil + mozzarella + tomato, it was this leaning tower of tomato, mozzarella, and crisps, with occasional drizzles of basil paste and balsamic vinegar. While I’m all for thinking outside the box, I would have preferred something more traditional. It was extremely awkward to eat, the cheese was not particularly soft or fresh, and the basil flavor was not strong enough. The salad with goat cheese was certainly better, though. As for their entrees: overall they are mostly 3 or 3.5 star dishes, some better than others, but mostly overpriced for the quality. The veal parmesan(«Vitella alla Principessa»), although thin, was very tender and tasted excellent. The mushroom ravioli(«Agnolotti Tartufati») was great too, despite only coming with 5 pieces. The seafood spaghetti(«Tonnarelli Pescatora») was fine, but the seafood could have tasted fresher given their proximity to the ocean. Their desserts were mostly a step up from the other items. We got the molten chocolate cake, tiramasu, and the crème brûlée(the dessert of the day). I found the tiramasu to be the best of the bunch; it was delicate, fresh, and not overly sweet. All things considered, depending on what you order, you can get a fairly decent meal here. Since the appetizer of the day ended up being the clear highlight of the meal, I’d recommend sticking to the specials of the day and closing with their tiramisu.

I’ve been here dozens of times over the last 3 years. It’s located in the heart of Fisherman’s village. Watching the boats is fun. It reminds me of being back in New England. Gorgeous view from the restaurant inside and out. I can’t resist but to take pictures, like a tourist. I posted too many last night. The owner seems to wait on us every time which(and whom) I love. I’ll take special attention from a darling Italian man any day.(My hubby’s Italian. ;-) He is attentive and helpful when deciding what dish should be next. We sit on the patio nearly every time. I always try to step out of my lil’ box when dining out. But here, the Pan Fried Shrimp has to happen …right off the bat. This is what we split last night: — Gamberi alla Milanese, Pan fried Shrimp breaded Milanese style, served with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic and e.v. olive oil and lemon. We even eat the arugula and tomato under the shrimp. It’s dressed beautifully light. Next, we got the Caprese Salad, which was a special. The mozzarella was the freshest we’ve ever eaten. Oh, my God, so good, .with beautiful, fresh heirloom tomatoes and, of course, basil. The fresh Italian olive oil is wonderful. Time for pasta! The owner mentioned the lobster and crab pasta special when we sat down and that just stuck in my head. It. Was. Fantastic. –Giant pieces of lobster, delightful tomato based sauce. This reminded me of an East Coast Italian dish. I miss eating these combinations. I could have eaten another plate of it. But, alas, had to move on. Protein time!(Even though there was protein in our pasta.) More protein! We got the Rollatino di Pollo. –Sautéed chicken breast stuffed with roasted artichokes, spinach and mozzarella, wrapped with Prosciutto served with mashed potatoes stuffed bell pepper. Every bite was ooh la la. SO glad we ordered this. I’ll be be tempted to order it again. The mashed was so good with a bit of charred pepper. I liked taking bites of the little pepper«hat.» You have to try this chicken dish. The stuffing and the proscuitto wrapping is like crack. Crack, I tell you. Sweet tooth calling! — We asked the owner for a dessert menu. He surely thinks we have a hollow leg. He then said, «The chocolate cake is really good tonight.» SOLD! No need to get that menu, darling… We’ll get THAT. And, it was to die. The texture was much like a brownie. Dense, but still soft enough. If you gave this place less than 4 stars, you’ve missed the boat!(See, what I did there?) Go back. Give it another try.
