Great place to go for drinks since they have a large draft beer selection. The food menu is pretty limited so I would recommend just getting drinks here and then going to get dinner at place across the street: The Wooden Pickle.

Good pizza, good selection of nearby brewery options. Lots of TV’s for latest sports event. Assortment of Live band /performers scheduled for Saturday nights in the fall and spring. Trivia contest to test your knowledge of some current and useless information to stimulate your brain.

Was driving to Roanoke from Nashville and watched to watch USA in the Women’s World Cup. The restaurant is in a cute little town. We had pepperoni pizza that was delicious. Great beer selection. Our waitress was fantastic. She knew we were there to watch the game and checked in on us enough to keep us happy but not too much to make it feel like we were being rushed. Clean and a great beer selection. Awesome place that I wish we had near us in South Jersey.

My family & I came in around 10pm after my brothers high school graduation. We had never been before but it was a great place! It has a nice atmosphere, great décor & friendly staff. First we ordered 2 plates of sweet potato fries that were delicious. My husband & I ordered a 16″ Carnivore Pizza with Pepperoni, sausage, beef, ham, and bacon. ITWASAWESOME! So delicious :) Very, very good pizza! My grandma ordered the Balboa burger with Marinara, Italian seasoning, pepperoni, and provolone cheese. Her first bite was followed with a smile & «Wow, this is freaking good.» She really enjoyed the burger, it was cooked perfectly & the toppings worked so well with each other. Since it was 10pm there were some rowdy rambunctious customers in there but hey, the food was great & the waitress was nice so we were happy! I will definitely go back if I get back into town. Try it out!

As a local I have eaten here many times and tried most everything on the menu. The chicken balboa is a great spin on the chicken Parmesan sandwich. Its a grill chicken breast served with pepperoni, marinara sauce, and topped with mozzarella. It’s one of my favorites. The chicken thigh appetizer to is a good choice. I order mine«naked» with buffalo or teriyaki sauce served on the side for dipping instead of being covered in the sauce. Then I can regulate how much sauce I want vs. the person cooking. The garden salad is also a good choice. I have eaten them several times and they have alway been fresh and of great portion. Tonight We ordered the carnivore and cheese pizza for the grandkids. We found found the carnivore to be hot fresh and full of toppings. The cheese pizza was also very good. They also have a great selection of craft beers with a couple domestics for the lightweights in the crowd. Service tonight was great but when busy it can be a little slow. But who cares? Sit back and enjoy a few cold ones, have some conversation, and relax in a really cool place in a really cool historic downtown. If in Marion you’ve gotta check this place out.

The food was really great. We had the BBQ chicken bacon pizza and the carnivore pizza. Both pizzas were really good. The service on the other hand sucked!!! It seems that they are way under staffed. We had to wait forever for refills on our drinks and could never find our waitress when we need to ask a question.

I was driving from Lynchburg, VA to Nashville, TN and stopped in Marion to grab a late dinner. My original intent was to go to Black Rooster, which Trip Advisor had told me was open until 10. I arrived around 8:30 to find it closed, so I just walked down Main St. and entered the first restaurant I found, that happened to be 27 Lions. I liked the place immediately upon entering. It felt roomy, and seemed like it would still feel that way even if every seat was filled. The host(who was one of those people that manages to call you«sweetie» or «dear» at least once per sentence) told me I could seat myself and followed a few minutes later with a menu(had I not already pulled up the menu on my phone while outside, waiting for that menu might have been a bit annoying). I ordered the Southern Boy burger(Black peppercorn, brown sugar, fried onions, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, BBQ sauce, and cheddar). It wasn’t a mindblowing burger by any means, but it was good. Considering the difficulty I was having finding any place open near Rural/Marion, I can’t complain one bit. My only issue is that the waitress kept taking a while to get back around to my table to refill my water, take my order, etc., despite the place being pretty much deserted. Aside from that, this was a decent little place to stop, and I’m glad they were open«late»(until 10, whereas most other places in the area closed by 8).

I visited here for date, we had the amazing Italian nachos and even better pizza. The beer selections were good as well. The atmosphere is worth a visit as well. We watched some football here and they were willing to change the channel for us, always nice when that happens. Very clean and the service we had this visit was perfect. I wish they were open on Sundays!

The look of this place is quite nice inside BUT the taste of the food and the very small variety of menu items left MUCH to be desired. Only Burgers and Pizza and a few appetizers… really? With that limited menu ALL of the food should be executed perfectly since it really doesn’t take much true skill to whip up a pizza and heat up a burger patty, instead we were served a pretty sorry pizza that lacked any flavor and a pretty crappy burger. By the way, you can skip the«Boneless Thigh» appetizer as well… speaking of a cheap a$$ part of the chicken covered with your choice of sauces… still doesn’t cover up the fact that you are paying a pretty big price for a sorry part of chicken. You might as well put Chicken Feet on the menu as well. Overall, this visit was a complete letdown and other then the pretty decent beer tap lineup there is no reason to set foot in this establishment unless you are okay with paying a pretty high price for some food that you could probably make better at home.
