My boyfriend and I usually come in on Sundays, can’t beat the $ 1 oysters and 10 kinds to choose from! As always we pair with muscadet, which they have by the bottle. The Sunday bartender is always awesome! Food can be pricy, and small in size but always worth it.

I came here for a farewell dinner at work during the summer. We got some appetizers for the whole table to share like the calamari, octopus, and crab cakes. They tasted great, but the portions were way too small. We had to but them up into the smallest little pieces for everyone to be able to try less than a bite. I ordered diver scallops as an entrée. I can still remember how delicious this dish was in terms of flavor from the bacon-shallot marmalade and texture from the soft scallops and crispy potatoes. Very expensive, but very tasty. I also got a dessert, but I no longer see it on the menu. It was described as a light lemon cheesecake-like dish, but it was actually dense. That was not the best dish, in my opinion — even though the flavor was good, it was just heavy. Other people from my table got other dishes like the fruit cobbler, beignets, and panna cotta and they were all very good.

I have been here three times. I sat at the bar two times. The bartenders are very rude. Don’t seem to want to be there and are also rude to their fellow workers. I sat on the floor once and it was a much friendlier experience. My server was very friendly, she gave us excellent service on our Sunday lunch date. Now to the food. It’s a pricey place but well worth it. The food is delicious. The fish is fresh. I love the Salmon dish. The octopus app is delicious. My husband loves the Shrimp and grits. I’ll definitely be back on Sunday’s tho as they have $ 1 oysters with a great selection. And the service was much friendlier on Sunday. I’d give 5 stars but the unfriendliness of the bartenders was why I gave 4 stars. I would definitely tell my friends about this delicious restaurant.

Went on New Years Eve, the seafood dishes(paella & casserole) were all delicious, as were the appetizers, but their Filet Mignon was burnt to a crisp(tough and tasteless). Typically«medium» means pink and not grey. The cocktails were okay, but their sangria wasn’t great. Somehow they messed up a gin & tonic, so stick with their signature drinks. The oysters were amazing(NYE special?), but no discount for getting a dozen. Waitress was unpleasant, but probably didn’t want to be there on NYE. Nice atmosphere and nice tables for 5(round booth).

Great food, service and atmosphere in a neighborhood setting. Pleasantly surprised by the menu which had good choices for seafood and mixed grill. The diver scallops were fab with a nice presentation– good merlot and excellent wine list. A very special place.

Fish is fantastic! Having just moved to Southborough it’s so nice to have this excellent restaurant in our back yard. The clam chowder is thick and delicious and the portion was huge too! The bacon flavor is just right and I may have even tasted some very mild hints of sherry. Just downright amazing. I had the halibut special which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the wild boar ragu which was covered with tender meat and hand made pasta. So good! We actually brought the kids with us and their kids meals were very good too! Overall just outstanding.

Fish is a great restaurant with fantastic food, drinks and service. The General Manager Steve Morretti does a great job of checking on everyone and making sure all is perfect. Their oysters are fantastic and this is a great place to takes clients or just hang out with friends. Highly recommend! Rob Lazarus

My sister in law read about the dollar oysters on Sunday so we made the drive to Fish. Just from the looks of the place, I’m already seeing 3 – 4 dollar signs. There is a bar seating area with high tops and big screen tvs. We were seated in the dining area. It looks and feels elegant. However, it was 4pm. There were 3 of us. There was another couple at the bar and one more couple in the dining area. And the hostess decides to sit us in the way far back as possible, next to the kitchen door, no window, under a vent table. Why? And on top of that, next to a very large table that was set up for a big group which did arrive 30 mins later. And the place is nearly empty? Anyway, we got up and moved ourselves to a different table. Our server was nice. She checked on us several times and made sure we got all the dollar oysters we could handle. I’m not an oyster connoisseur but I’ve had nasty ones and all mine tonight tasted fresh and briny. The prices on the regular menu are very high for my budget.

What can I say about this place? My wife and I have tried a few upscale restaurants for special occasions(Capital Grille, Davio’s, etc) during our time, and I can honestly say, this place rates pretty high! It’s right up the street from us, which is really nice and is a contributing reason for our patronage. I literally can’t say anything bad about the place. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service is top-notch, the live jazz band is exquisite… but I digress, onto the food! Oyster Bar: They have a variety of different Oysters at a reasonable cost. Everything you could want from Sweet to succulent, to a mix. Appetizers: I guess the portions could be a little bit bigger, but we especially love this Octopus dish. You’d expect it to be chewy, but the way they cook it, makes it cut like butter. Dinner: I haven’t found a thing on the menu yet that I did not like. Everything we’ve tried has been good. Desert: Try the chocolate soufflé!

This was a decent«fancy» restaurant in the area. We started off with a bowl of clam chowder, which was good, but it was not reheated enough so it was kind of lukewarm. I got the roasted chicken, which was very good, but a little too salty. The other dishes that my party got were not enjoyable though. The salmon was very dry and overcooked. I think it’s an ok restaurant, but kind of pricey for mediocre food.

Nice restaurant but definitely not cheap. I’m giving it four stars for the dollar oysters on Sundays. You can’t beat that price and quality anywhere near here.

We swung in unannounced on a Saturday night for a nice dinner and got just that. Fish is a very nice spot that had a fantastic jazz quartet(this was 10⁄24 — book ‘em again!). I would assume it was because of our drop-in, but the table we sat at was DIRECTLY next to the band, and also directly in front of the fire place. Though cozy and warm at start, by the end of the meal, we were both openly sweating and kinda had to get out. The food(baked stuff lobster!) was delicious, seasoned, and the crab stuffing was awesome. It’s not a cheap location, though the meals were large and filling/Great wine selection with a good pinot noir, good hand-cut fries… I don’t do a lot of fancier dining, but this was a nice treat. The service was also fast, friendly, and very pleasant. Nothing amazing to rant about here, but solid stuff.

Fish Restaurant & Wine Bar — Marlborough, MA — 9÷9÷2015 Two slices of bread with house whipped butter… Nothing too inspiring about the bread… Mixed Greens… ChampagneVinaigrette, Toasted Almonds, Dried Cranberries, Boursin Cheese… Positively Scrumptious! Surf & Turf… 8 Oz Filet Mignon with 1 ¼ Lb Maine Lobstah steamed… Whipped Potatoes, Asparagus, Bordelaise Sauce, Drawn Butter… The Filet, cooked to perfection with it’s warm pink center… It was extremely flavorful, just did not cut quite like buttah… Chocolate Panna Cotta… Orange-Vanilla Mascorpone, Blueberry-Strawberry Sauce… If you have a passion for rich chocolaty desserts that inspire, this dish is for you! The Cappuccino was good although the head was somewhat flat… Overall it was quite a pleasant experience and I would highly recommend you try this restaurant. They do a nice job.

Absolutely overrated! From the minute we walked in the door on a rainy Sunday night at 5:30, the Host was very rude and uninviting! Told us it would be over an hour wait for our party of 3, and when we ask if we could wait at the bar, told us that would be an hour wait! Well we walked over to the bar and there were plenty of empty seats not to mention empty tables! We ordered our drinks, apps and dinners at 6:00. Our apps came out at 7:00 and our entrees at 8:00! The presentations were pleasing for an appetizer. Very disappointed in the meals, not only were they small, cold and bland! We didn’t send anything back, I don’t believe in that, but we’ll never return! The lazy man lobster was appalling for $ 42.00, coleslaw, French fries thick as ribbons, and a cone of lobster meat. The scallop entrée for $ 35.00 consisted of 4 scallops over a tiny potato medallion. To add insult, we came for the raw bar that was empty at 5:30! Not one single oyster left!

First the good: The bread, drinks, and order were fast; It was dead though. I ordered the fried fish platter. The fries were top notch perfect. The fried fish was perfectly brown, the haddock was moist. The bad: The clams were indelibly chewy. The rest of the staff lacked energy. The bread is fresh but too heavy. The herb butter was just butter with a parsley you can see but not taste. And probably it’s biggest problem aside from its pretentious pricing is the décor. Stuffy, boring, and cold if also modern and sleek. It wreaks of Country club clientele, and business lunches. Food is good but not that good.

Found it on Unilocal and listened to the feedback, did not get steered wrong. This place is rock solid. I listened to a review that advised a reservation and glad that I did that as the place was packed with people. I also took the advise of the Unilocalers and ordered the fried fatty clams and they were fabulous. Since I was Jone’ing for a Lobster I did a stuff lobster. It wasn’t the best I have ever had, but frankly I would get the lobster somewhere else next time and order something else at this place. Overall highly recommended, but get a reservation and for sure if you like the taste of raw oysters, try the fried fatty clams, good!

What a lovely fish restaurant — complete with 4 or 5 non-seafood dinners(eg. duck, filet mignon) in the menu. If I lived closer(or even in the state) I would be here at least once a month. Paulette was an absolutely spectacular waitress. The appetizers and dinners are absolutely fantastic. There were 5 people in our party and everyone enjoyed their meals. We tried about half a dozen appetizers which were all divine. The wine list is very good as well. I definitely recommend you try this restaurant.

We moved to Marlborough a little more than two years ago and thought this restaurant seemed promising, but every time we go we’re less impressed. Last night we dined, didn’t have a reservation, but didn’t think it would be an issue because the restaurant was half empty. We were informed by the extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming host that«we aren’t accepting walk-ins for parties of two, but you can sit at the bar». Honestly, we have no issue eating at the bar, but his demeanor was really off putting. If he had said«I’m sorry, but we don’t have a table for two available at the moment, but please feel free to sit at the bar» that would have been fine. This isn’t Boston. The food isn’t especially spectacular. Get over youself. I’m pretty sure we’re done with Fish.

Why do I forget to come here? Oh why? I so love the octopus — you can cut it with a fork, buttery tender!(I just hate beets, and they serve it with beets!). I love the salmon with the roasted cauliflower and the purée, one of my favorite lunches. Seriously. But they did overcook my salmon — a huge no-no in my book. BUT it was delicious and I really enjoyed it enough to want to come back for it and get it right and not have overcooked seafood at Legals down the road in Framingham. Service is LOVELY and chatting with Ian is always a pleasure. Come for drinks. Or their lovely wines. And their fresh oysters. Just come, and enjoy.

Overall, Fish is an excellent seafood restaurant way out in the suburbs of Marlborough. The fish appears to be extremely fresh and generally well prepared. The restaurant has changed hands over the years and this incarnation is definitely the best. If you have not been here in a while, do come back. I absolutely love the Diver Scallops on a turnip purée.(I know it sounds strange, but it is fantastic.) I also enjoy the Grilled Swordfish with Ratatouille, Tomato-Onion Marmalade, and Crispy Leeks. The restaurant has live music on Saturday night that is surprisingly excellent for the ‘burbs and $ 1 oysters on Sunday. So, why not five stars? Well, the service is significantly lacking from the manager to the wait staff. On my most recent visit, my wife and I arrived before our friends for an early dinner. We had a reservation and there were MANY empty tables. We asked to be seated. The manager REFUSED. When I said that we were uncomfortable standing, we were told that we could go to the bar or wait standing by the door. I asked why and was told that it was«policy». I respect policy, but I would think the manager would want to be accommodating. At a visit two weeks ago, I asked the waitress about specials. She said that there weren’t any. Several minutes later, I heard another waitress tell the adjacent table that there was a branzino special. I wanted the branzino. This Mediterranean fish is very unusual for a restaurant in the east coast of the US. When I got the attention of the waitress, it was too late. To give credit, the restaurant manager apologized and provided a free dessert to compensate. But, still. Things are not so bad that I would boycott this place. The back of the house(kitchen, etc.) is quite good. But, the front of the house needs some customer focus.
