A first disappointing time here. I’m not sure if the cook(s) slipped w/the salt or what but definitely too salty. I can’t really say much more for this meal. My prior visits all boasted fresh and tasty food. My girlfriend’s ultra picky daughter actually loved the chicken and broccoli. I had that dish at this particular visit — I went w/the brown sauce instead of my usual white. King’s Palace has ‘best of’ for Chinese food for YEARS on end. I’ll chalk this visit up to an over zealous salted slip.

I’ve picked up food from this restaurant about 5 – 7 times over the past several years. I’m not big on Chinese take-out food unless I’m really somehow craving General Tso chicken, once in a blue moon. This is the best take-out Chinese in the area. I did take-out from here again recently on 09÷25÷15, for dinner. I enjoyed the General Tso’s chicken and also the chicken lo-mein. The chicken in the lo-mein was a little under-cooked, chewy, but overall the food quality, freshness, and taste was good. I would certainly come back here again. The only small issue is communicating with the owner who takes orders over the phone. He appears to be very polite, friendly and has never screwed up any order, but when I call in I never have the confidence that he actually got what I was saying. But it’s great that he is always there. They do have a lot of competition in the area from all kinds of restaurants around them, but they have still remained in business, I believe, because of loyal customers.

Time for an update. We gave them a second chance, again mostly due to the convenience of being right next to the theatre. Either my last experience here was just a bad day, or they’ve really made an effort to improve. We tried the«Fried bean curd with peanut and sesame sauce» and it was delicious! We also really enjoyed the«Double vegetarian delight» which was a mix of veggies and mock duck in a garlic soy sauce, fried up and served on a sizzling skillet. Definitely worth a try. The service was attentive and friendly and our waters never went empty. Overall we had a very good experience and I would return again.

Stopped in while on a recent road trip, and glad I did. This happens to be one of the better Chinese restaurants I have been to in recent years. Located in a strip mall, it was easy to get to and park. The service was excellent, and the food marvelous and reasonably priced. My partner and I both had combination plates(I had beef, she had shrimp) and the food was so good we almost finished it — which is unusual for us since we are generally light eaters. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Chinese food I’ve had in a while. I claim so because I work for one. Everything tasted like it was cooked to order. It was worth 16 dollars for two lunches!

I really don’t understand the negative reviews for King’s Palace. I’ve been here twice with my boyfriend. Both times we got soup, once we split a dinner plate and once we got lunch specials. The food quality is well above average and beyond our expectations. The service is quick and to the point, there’s no annoying chatty waiters checking on you every two seconds. I had the egg drop soup which was hot and very flavorful, my boyfriend had the hot and sour soup which was very rich with beef flavored broth. We split a dinner plate of pepper chicken which was well cooked, extremely flavorful, had the perfect texture sauce with incredibly fresh and crisp green bell peppers. The lunch special I had was General Tso’s and it was super crispy NOT soggy like it is at most places, nice big chunks of very fresh white meat chicken, and delicious sauce that wasn’t overpoweringly spicy. My boyfriends lunch special was sweet and sour pork with perfectly crisp breading that was light and crunchy. The pork itself was very fresh and flavorful. The red sauce wasn’t overly sweet and had a nice fruity flavor. I can’t recommend King’s Palace enough for amazingly well executed Chinese comfort food.

I really enjoyed their shrimp with garlic sauce. Their eggplant dish was also good too. I would definitely go back. The dishes are much more expensive than the ones in Philadelphia, but for what you can get in south jersey – I’d say they’re pretty good.

Just my opinion but the poor reviews posted here for King’s Palace are WAYOFF. This place has been a staple for us for 30 years. It’s the best Chinese food around. Is it authentic? Doubtful. Is it delicious? I can honestly say it had been all probably 500 times we’ve been there.

This was the first time at Kings Palace for me. The«best of» signs in the window set my expectations high. The place was crowded for a Saturday night. I don’t know what the fuss is about. The chicken in my Kung Pow was not cooked all the way through. The fried rice was greasy and too salty. I liked the wonton soup, but my partner did not. Maybe it was a bad night. Very disappointed.

If you already have a Chinese place, just stick with it. My bf and I came in off a whim after shopping at Whole Foods and saw all the awards in the window. He made a negative comment about the awards, and I said«oh please I’m sure it has to be good.» We’ll I take back my words. We came in and got seated, and were immediately brought tea, water, mustard, duck sauce, pickled cabbage, and fried wontons to eat while we waited. Very shortly after we placed our orders; I ordered the Pork and Broccoli dinner combo, and he ordered the Kung Pow Chicken combo. The waitress walked to the back and brought us out our soups immediately. Big red flag. It definitely seemed sitting and waiting to be reheated than fresh. The wonton soup noodles were chewy, and had extremely little meat inside. Less than 10 minutes later our food was out. This was about 15 minutes total time inside the restaurant. Immediately I was turned off. We both ordered fried rice and it was extremely dark and greasy, like it was triple fried rice. I took some bites and everything was just average. It was completely unremarkable either way. But as I kept eating, it kept getting greasier and greasier as it pooled in the center of the plate. I decided to try the(also very dark and greasy looking) egg roll. I bit into the corner to see if it was hot, and a stream of grease shot out of the other end drenching everything in a 2nd coating. I only wish I could unsee that. Meanwhile, my bf seemed content with his meal. He was happily eating, and his plate was not nearly as greasy as mine. A few minutes passed and I hear«omg!» — he held up a piece of soft, soggy, and undercooked chicken on his fork. He put it down and neither one of us finished our plates. He also mentioned it should be renamed Kung Pow Water Chestnuts because there was very little chicken in the dish to begin with. What was in it was stringy, chunky, and soggy. I don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed with fast Chinese food before, even before taking a bite. The food was all monotonous in color; everything was dark brown and greasy. The service was meh. The waitresses usually swung by like fruit bats, refilling the water quickly and saying«thank you» at odd times, but not stopping long enough to talk to. I was just glad to be over with it.

I’m Chinese-American and enjoy good authentic Chinese food. Unfortunately this is not it. Got takeout consisting of steamed and fried dumplings, sesame noodles, shrimp lo-mien, and Singapore noodles. Everything was mediocre. Usually I like leftovers to take to work but none of this is even appetizing or good enough for me to want to eat it a second time. The only reason I didn’t give one star is because my fiancé liked the sesame noodles, and none of the dishes are too greasy, which is appreciated. Sang Kee is still the best around town for authentic Chinese food.

Ordered takeout including some staples of Chinese restaurants, such as hot-n-sour soup and combo(hosue special) fried rice. The prices, though not expensive, are not cheap for a modest place in a strip mall. However, the food quality is appalling, far worse than many cheaper takeout restaurants. The soup has a strange sweet and highly salty mixed taste, with a lumps of gooey corn starch floating in it. I found just a little black fungus mushroom but another standard ingredient,(usually canned) shredded bamboo shoots, were non-existent. I can tell the overcooked egg drops in the soup were not mixed in when they made the soup but probably some leftover from other dishes. The fried rice was very, very, very greasy and salty. The rice was not even well mixed because I found several chunks of white rice. Diced roast pork in the fried rice was of bad quality; bland chicken meat was almost cooked and rested aside that they dumped in(not misxed in) the last minute; several small shrimps, diced onions, and some green peas. Very high in sodium and MSG because I felt very thirsty and uncomforable all evening after taking a few bites/sips before throwing out the remaining portion. Another interesting obeservation: when the food was ready and was handed over to me at the front counter, I asked if there were spoons and forks there. The lady took a quick look into the brown bag, quickly reached under, and then resurfaced with a plastic spoon. I wonder if she just found it on the floor or they keep utensils underneath. Either way, didn’t appear hygienic to me. I am very surprised and impressed that this restaurant has survived this long.

Good Chinese if you’re looking for nice take out rather than the regular grease these places serve. Service was great and quick, even for Xmas night.

the owner ricky is a swell guy. he always talks to us and is pleasant. he always remembers the kids so we feel very welcome. the food is ur typical american style chinese food. its not the authentic home style food but we eat that at home anyways. so when we want a night out to eat, and we want chinese food, we sometimes make the trip to marlton to eat. the chicken/eggplant is yum. the shrimp dishes always have decent sized shrimp. i would stay away from the sesame chicken and general tso chicken since it was a bit bready. but all in all, kings palace is a goodguy.

Ok the real negative to this place is the lack of delivery. Really wish they had delivery but you are going to get good food here. Lots of options and don’t be afraid to ask for customization. Like you can have white or brown sauces depending on the dish. The crowds and wait can get pretty heavy during peak times but you should definitely enjoy the food.

Editing my review. The service is a hit or miss. It depends on how much your bill will come to be. The food was better since I last wrote the review.

When we moved from Philly to South Jersey it took forever to find a good, weekly Chinese place that wasn’t mediocre. We probably tried 5 or 6 that I always complained about before finding King’s Palace which quickly became our favorite(we alternate between here and Joe’s Peking Duck House, which are both great but have different menus, although both have great duck). The owner(I’m assuming he’s the owner) is extremely friendly, will make your food anyway you want, and always greets me with a smile when I come in. Its a couple dollars more than delivery Chinese, but worlds apart and 10 times better than any we’ve had in the area and well worth it. The combos are all good, no matter what you like(and its nice that you can get brown rice for no extra charge). Chik. w/broccoli, Lo mein, sweet & sour pork or shrimp, general tso’s shrimp, and chicken or shrimp in garlic sauce are all excellent. Although not on the menu, you can get ½ an order of Peking Duck for around $ 20, which includes a huge legs, plenty of meat and pancakes(its good if you’re the only one in the house that eats duck, as a whole order is just too much for 1 person). I like that they cut the fatty parts out but leave the crispy skin-so good! The Chef’s specialities are interesting too(butterfly shrimp with bacon is really good), and I don’t think we’ve ever ordered anything that didn’t taste great. I definitely recommend this place for your regular Chinese spot, and its never more than 20 minutes for pick up(unless you get Duck, which is 25).

King’s Palace is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants around! Although I can’t eat the stuff that often(for reasons undisclosed) I always enjoy coming here! They are extremely friendly and like any Chinese restaurant, bring you your food before you can even finish ordering it. Prices are also very reasonable for combination platters. For some reason, the food here tastes much fresher than other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to(no MSG maybe?) Although I live about 20 minutes away, I will take a ride to King’s Palace when I have a Chinese hankering!
