I do love me some dairy. Grew up literally blocks from Weber’s Farm, back in the day when the field north of the silos was a field, not a subdivision. I love the cheese and soft-serve ice cream. Be prepared not to eat for days after having Weber’s soft serve. What I wasn’t impressed by were the zillions of flies in the farm(food) store itself. On everything, flying everywhere. Someone needs to hang up a fly strip or 20.

It’s cheese curd heaven! And they have other cheeses too! Try their rendition of blue cheese, it’s delicate & incredibly tasty. This is a required stop every time I’m in Marshfield.

We anxiously await the opening of Weber’s ice cream machine every spring(they are open in the winter, just do not serve their cones). If you have the time, go inside and take a look at the cheeses offered there. They get cheese from Nasonville Dairy, and WOAH are they ever awesome! My next cheese to try is going to be the 13 year old cheddar. They have so many different variety cheeses and random things in the cooler… I definitely recommend this place for more than the cheap(and great) milk! :-)

Milk doesn’t come from a carton in the grocery store? and neither does the good ice cream or cheese? It comes from places like Weber’s(besides coming direct from the cow, that is)? All snarkiness aside, if you don’t have a cow and the facilities to keep the cow, and don’t want to go to the grocery store — this is your place. When you first drive in to Weber’s parking lot, you’ll see it’s on the edge of a farm. I don’t know if it’s the Weber farm, but it adds to the authentic atmosphere. Well — that visual and the«fresh country air» smell. I was already pretty excited. Dairy products — another must-have food group. The goodies inside are all from a local farm so you know it’s fresh. When I walked into the store, I saw first the refrigerated cases full of milk and the nearby cheeses and ice cream. Then I saw the soft-serve ice cream machine. I can tell you this: there’s nothing like an ice cream/ice milk cone on a hot day. The milk, in all types, comes in a plastic bag for a little over a dollar for a half-gallon. Seriously? I pay more than that for a quart of the spit-i-ful milk from my local grocery store. Had I been closer to home, I’d have stocked up on a few half-gallons. You can buy a reusable plastic pitcher to hold the bag for serving. This milk tastes ever so much better than anything you’ll get in a store and with the plastic bags, you have less waste to recycle. It’s a win-win. What I really liked, was the drive-through window. It was getting quite a workout on the day I visited with people buying ice cream and milk. Milk. .. in a drive up window. How awesome!

Ahhh, sometimes you have to love what a small town has to offer. Weber’s is one of a kind. Most people only use the drive-thru, so lines usually make it out to the highway. Just the usual crowd trying to pick up milk and cheese on the way home. Me? Well I’m just trying to get my favorite ice cream. Honestly the best soft serve cone I’ve ever had. I know the prices are so low, but don’t even try and get a large. Not possible to finish a large swirl cone without having it all over your shirt. I’ve ruined many. Maybe Man vs. Food could take it on as challenge…
