Very low key night and not too much traffic(Father’s day) so service was exceptional! We had carry-out a few times but this was the first time we ate in house as a family and the kids enjoyed it. My son loved that they served water in blue glass rum bottles… he felt like Jack Sparrow pouring water from it(I had to tell him not to drink straight from it). Mozzarella Sticks were great, the pear salad was sweet and flavorful, and the Nutella dessert was a great alternative to a crêpe! We need to come back without the kids so my wife and I can enjoy more wine and the atmosphere!

Best pizza in NJ that I’ve had to pleasure to try. Highly recommend getting the fresh arugula on top. Also their rice balls and long hots are incredibly tasty starters. The atmosphere is quite nice and fancier than your average pizza shop. It’s a nice cozy décor and friendly laid-back service. The food quality is top notch.

Unexpectedly nice with cozy décor and a fun layout with open kitchen area. Awesome server(normal personality is basically all it takes with me). Pear salad was too dressed and rice balls were not seasoned at all but pizza was great, would order different starters next time

A couple of my friends have been raving abut this place recently so I knew I had to go. This past Saturday my parents invited me to dinner so I suggested Lombardi’s Pizza, pizza is always a crowd pleaser so they were in. It was unseasonably cold and very rainy on Saturday but that did not keep people in, this place was packed. We were a part of a crowd of people who were waiting for a seat in the entrance of the restaurant. Lombardi’s is relatively small but has a long wooden table with benches along the center, I love when restaurants have this type of seating. We put our names in and cracked open a couple of beers as we waited, which was only for about 25 minutes. We ordered a salad and two pizzas for the three of us and it was the perfect amount for dinner because we left with a couple of slices as leftovers. I look forward to bringing my next group to this yummy pizza place.

I give Lombardi Pizza Co. a 5 because I haven’t found anything similar to it(in NJ) outside of Italy. I can’t post the image from a pizzeria in Italy, for comparison purposes, because it’s on my computer and not my phone. Everything is made in-house, although I’m sure that they don’t grow their own produce, etc. We started with an Arugula Salad and Mozzarella Sticks. The salad was simple but simple(look up the menu so I don’t have to list them). The mozz sticks are absolutely 150% homemade. I have never had homemade mozz sticks. They use high quality oil in their fryer. Pic below. The pizza, it’s cooked almost instantly in a very hot wood-burning oven. They serve a thin crust with a doughy outer crust, charred by the wood and high temp. Delicious! The crust is divine! The rivals might say: they don’t offer enough options(in terms of protein and veggie combo), they only have pork-product or «vegetarian»: true. Ultimately, this is the best pizza I have found in NJ, outside of Italy. While eating, I was searching how I could get the Food Network to come here. My wife was upset, but we’re okay now. Lombardi’s is the real deal!

This is not your average pizza night! The pizza’s are all hand crafted and the ingredients are thoughtfully put together. Excellent!

Hands down the best pizza in Jersey, this is real Italian pizza, the kind you’d find in Naples(which I’ve had). Lovely atmosphere, bring some wine and meet your friends, you won’t be disappointed!

I think this is as good as pizza gets in New Jersey. Pizza selections are creative and cooked to perfection. The crust is absolutely delicious, and the pizza is simply addictive. It can definitely get busy here, but the pizzas also cook and come out fast, so tables tend to turn quickly. I’d agree that perhaps they can use a bit more help in front of house, but the staff have been nothing but friendly on each of my visits(I’ve probably been in around 7 or 8 times so far). Starters are very good too, but the main story here is the pizza without a doubt.

Very poor service, I went there a few weeks ago and they couldn’t be bothered to wait on me so I left. Now my realtor waited 45 minutes and was never served or even acknowledged. #nolongerafoodtruck #stepuptheservice #avoidthisplace

Amazing pizza, decent prices. Gets very busy though. The margehrita pie is a must-have.

Finally, a place that serves top notch wood-fired pizza in Basking Ridge. These guys know what they are doing and I had one of my best pizzas ever in New Jersey. The dough was consistently good – firm, held everything together well, yet was chewy and flavorful, capturing the flavors of the tomatoes and mozzarella di bufala just perfectly. The menu is simple, the way it ought to be, and they put cold water on the table; again, the way it ought to be. We weren’t rushed and had a blast. They even showed me the oven when I started asking questions – fantastic! I ordered my pizza with anchovies – yes, they had them(unlike Millie’s, who never heard of them…). What was even better is that they broke up the anchovies into little pieces onto to the pie – again, the way it ought to be done – but totally unsolicited – I didn’t ask – they just knew what to do. I asked for red pepper flakes and they just threw some onto the pizza before launching it into the oven. Now that’s love my friend, pure unadulterated love. This was pizza porn – simple as that. I’m going back and I’m bring some of my lost souls in the neighborhood who have to wait for me to fire up my pizza oven for some good ‘za. Now, they can do what I do and stop by this place. Thanks guys. Keep up the good work.

REVISED: I’m convinced that there is no better pizza in the state of New Jersey. I have tried almost every pizza on the menu and have never been disappointed. Their rice balls are phenomenal too. The service could use some fine tuning but they are genuinely friendly. Beautiful interior, too. The only major complaint would be the center picnic style tables. They are very uncomfortable to sit at even for a full grown adult due to the distance between the seat and the table. That makes it even more uncomfortable for smaller adults or kids. Cute idea but not practical at all. Five stars(as long as you get a regular table).

Ok, the pizza is good, but the prices are high. It’s actually same or higher then NYC. Things that needs improvement besides the prices,… Service or should I say lack of, … I agree what others have said about the service, once you get your food the staff do Not come to ask if you need anything else Second the menu is very limited to pizza. Don’t expect to order anything but pizza here. They don’t have any pasta or other dishes. Our bill came to almost $ 80 for a family of 4, and it’s a BYO, it’s pricy! We will have to think about coming back, due to the high prices, below average service

Great Neapolitan wood fired pizza. The guys that work here are also very friendly. The food here is really good. Salads are fresh. The rice balls are surprisingly light & delicious & come with an amazing dipping sauce. Mr. F’s favorite thing here is the Margherita D.O.P. It is one of the best Margherita pizzas he ever had. The Nutella calzone is also amazing. The negatives: they have some 4 and 2 top tables but also have the dreaded communal seating which Mr. F HATES. Also, their white clam pie was lacking in flavor. It seems that they used canned clams instead of fresh. Finally, as others have mentioned, their prices are pretty high. Mr. F doesn’t mind paying for good food, but paying NYC prices at this location is beyond ridiculous. If their prices were reasonable he would go here at least once a week. Get those prices down & you will earn Mr. F business more often.

I first ate Lombardi pizza when they were just a food truck in Edison, and now they have a restaurant in Martinsville. I was impressed then, and I’m still impressed now. The service has always been friendly from the beginning. And their pizzas are at the top of my list! Their pizzas have a chewy dough and fresh, chunky tomato sauce. The meats are good, the cheese is always fresh(as fresh as cheese can be!). In my most recent visit to Lombardi Pizza, the pizza was a little«charred» but I’ve eaten here a few times to know that it isn’t their norm, so they’re staying at the top of my pizza list! I look forward to coming back for more. Keep up the great work!

One word, and only one word, summarizes Lombardi’s of Martinsville pizza: horrible. A travesty(SAT word!) of a pizza. Would opt for that joint in Raritan for my pizza jones. DeLuca’s? Only you must ask for extra sauce(hey I am a tomato guy!) and tell them not to overcook the mother. All these things I have to remember. Not a place to eat in as ambiance is non-existent. Unless you enjoy watching young(SAT word alert) ingenues waltzing around. To see the show: take a look around when you pay at the cash register.

Hands down, the best pizza I’ve ever had. I travel from Hoboken to Martinsville just to have a Millie pie from Lombardi Pizza Co, because nothing else compares. The menu is very well curated and pies are all authentic. One of the owners, Pete Lombardi, actually learned how to make neapolitan pizza in Italy and brought the craft to NJ. I normally go with a large group and they have a long center table that can accommodate parties. And don’t forget to save room for desert. The nutella boli is to die for!

As much as I’d like to keep this place all to myself, they deserve as much business as they can get. The pizza is out of this world! My family and I drive almost 40mins just to get pizza here and it’s totally worth the trip every time. These pies are authentic pizzas… Not the giant NY pies we’ve all come to know and love. So although they are smaller than your standard pie, the quality far surpasses it. This is a perfect example of quality over quantity. The appetizers and desserts are just as amazing as the pizzas so make sure you come hungry!

I really, really, really don’t want to tell you how GREAT this pizza is. It’s already a small place, and if you figure it out, I will have to wait for my fix of Lombardi’s. The only reason I am telling you about this place is one of the owners, Steve, is such a nice guy I want to do him a favor. Just met him tonight and he made us feel right at home. NOTE: Don’t judge this book by its cover. It’s located in a strip mall and isn’t much to look at from the outside. Call ahead or come early or late to avoid a wait.

Place has a Brooklyn feel to it… ordered some takeout. a pizza and some rice balls. Pizza was good(we picked up both the regular and buffalo mozzarella ones)… but the rice balls. they were great. Best i’ve ever had. and they came with a vodka sauce. Will definitely be coming back here some time soon!
