I drive by their advertisement on Smokey Point Blvd twice a day for the last six months atleast. «$ 10 per month no commitment» it advertises. I check out their website it reads«$ 10 a month». I rolled into the gym, asked to sign up. Low and behold, there’s a start up fee if $ 29, and oh yeah there’s $ 29 yearly maintenence fee that’s due less then a year away. Why wasn’t either of these mentioned on the advert or the website? This is not the same as $ 10 month. I don’t care how much cheaper it is even with the fees, I make it a point not to give my business to liars. You want to start a business relationship with me? Then don’t lie to me. I’ll go to your competitor who is more expensive if that means that I won’t be lied to my face before they’ve even got my business.

I needed a gym close to home, open 24 hours, cheap, and has free weights and machine weights. I don’t want to sign any contracts or be hassled to signup with a personal trainer. I want to come in, workout and leave. LA Fitness didn’t have great hours and was $ 20 a month. PF is $ 10 and is open 24⁄7. The only thing I would change is have less cardio machines and put some benches in for bench pressing. So many cardio machines. So many.

I have really mixed feeling about this place. Though the gym is all shiny and new and staff is generally friendly I hold a strong disliking that the way the guy was talking to me. He was talking down a bit and asked me about 5 times what my fitness goals were like if I wanted to become a body model that this isn’t the right gym for me. Also, I just over heard Kristin on the phone with a customer and wow, she needs to work on her customer service skills. Or lack there of. Yes, we sign contracts but the guy on the phone sounded like there was a mix up about what kind of membership he got and Kristin was copping an attitude with the guy saying«well sir I’m looking at your contract. You phone number is xxx. Your date of birth is xxx. I’m looking at your contract that you signed. The one you did online is not with us so it’s no good. I’m looking at your contract.» She said it is such a condescending tone it made me wonder how she got the job in the first place. In general gyms are gyms. But this one I’m so iffy about. Like if there was a 24 Hour Fitness I would have never signed up for this gym

Planet Fitness is exactly what Marysville needed. Signed up under their pre-opening promotion($ 1 down, $ 10/month). When we first visited, we were very impressed at the amount of equipment and the variety. I’ve been working out here for about 2 months 3 – 4 times/week and have never had to wait for cardio equipment and rarely for weights. The only reason for not giving a full 5 stars is that the front desk staff seem to be a little lackluster at times. Many times they’re pleasant and accommodating, while on a few occasions they seemed to not care about answering my questions or helping me. Overall great facility and I’m sure that the staffing issues will be addressed since this location just opened(I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since it’s a brand new gym).

Been a «black card» member from day one, signed a 1yr membership contract. Now out of the blue I «have to» sign a NEW liability waiver or I can’t use everything that my membership covers. When I asked for a copy the manager said I could take a copy with my cell but I can’t have a paper copy(even though I wanted to attach it to my original membership). After reading it, it seemed harmless. But it’s not good business, they should know the forms they need at the time of signing not a month after the fact… ESPECIALLY since they also own the location in Renton, Wa. that is thriving. Because of today’s hubbub, I am giving them 3 stars instead of my original 4.
