I purchased two Virgin Mobile phones during their free airtime promotion. You would receive one month of free airtime with the purchase of the LG Optimus Elite phone. I only needed on phone so I decided to return the other one back to RS. First I went to the Yuba City one located near Savemart and they told me I could only return it to the store I originally bought it from. Well isn’t that just great! I don’t recall buying something, for example, at Target or Walmart and having to take it back to the store I bought it from, just as long as it has the name Target or Walmart on the building. Well they told me I would only get $ 64.99 back because of the free $ 35 airtime promotion. I paid $ 99.99 per phone and the second phone was not even activatied or opened. So I ask the manager where does it say one cannot return unused airtime. He mentions that it is on the receipt under the TOS, so I look and cannot find that stipulation. He then says it is on the return policy on the back of the receipt and again I can’t find it. He then just says it it store policy and blows me off. I then ask he to show me where in the store there is such a policy, but he can’t find any. When I purchased these phones I asked the sales person if I could return these phones if I did not like then and she said yes. At the moment she should have mentioned no returns on airtime, only the phone. But what does one expect when dealing with low wage workers at Radio Shack. Not that I always shop at RS but after this there is no need to ever go into one their stores again. No wonder there are losing market share, bad customer service. The manager is a 5′ 5″ chubby little fellow that wears glasses that try’s to talk over you, I guess it is another case of Napoleon complex. Also, if you ever buy a prepaid phone from anywhere else you buy the phone and pay for it. At Rat Shack company policy requires them to get your name, address, phone, etc. This is a prepaid phone not a contract phone, Rat Shack morons! We all know why they do this, to get the person on their mailing list so they can pester you even after the dysfunctional sale.
