A Golden Nail

The two ladies were very sweet. I got a pedi which didn’t take too long to do but the acrylic nails were another story. Took 2 hours to do. The work was very slow plus one of my nails were bent. Another was crooked but that was fixed once I told her. I would just come here for a basic mani pedi, nothing special. Plus there was no one in there when I went, no wait time.

Let me cut right to the chase. The quality of service here is extremely poor. While the workers are friendly enough and there was no wait time, the so called nail technician has no idea how to apply acrylic tips. It took her two hours to give me a set of mis-​shapen poorly filed nails. The acrylic was way too thick and lumpy. She hurt me several times with the file. She didn’t file underneath the tips so it was lumpy there are well. They attempted to charge me $ 28 but I refused. Then $ 25 and then finally we settled at $ 22. She didn’t polish my nails down to the cuticle so there were spaces which made my new nails look like I needed filling. I went home and filed and re-​polished my nails in hopes to correct the mistakes. They lasted one full day before 5 of them fell off. In all my years of doing my nails I have never had a worse experience. If you want nails that you feel good about, avoid this place!!!

My friend and I were heading to a different salon, when we passed by Golden Nails and got lured in by their «Mani-​Pedi $ 14» sign. It was right by her house, so we decided to give it a shot. It was about 5 or 6 PM on a Monday night, there were only 2 ladies working but another one on the way. The ladies were all extremely sweet and attentive. We even got back massages while we waited for our nails to dry! We were very satisified with our Mani-​Pedis.
I knocked off one star because we had to wait about 25 minutes before one of us was able to begin soaking our feet (there was only 2 of them at first and they were both occupied.) Also, there was an issue with my bill total (I got the non-​chip gel mani) due to one of the workers minimal English knowledge. However, they recognized where the confusion happened and we negotiatied a final price.
I don’t live around here, but would return with my friend if I’m in the area and in need of some girl time.
