A great old fashioned bakery. I absolutely recommend the walnut ring. Like an Entenmans Danish ring but not disgusting and artificial. I am so Glad i found this place!

The best pretzel rolls in the world! I have the biggest sweet tooth and this is one of my favorite places! They make the best cakes they are so delicious and not overbearingly sweet! I love that they make little mini cakes too! The girls behind the counter are extremely friendly and always smiling!

I love the Glendale Bake Shop. We had one in my old neighborhood in queens. The Pretzel Roll are Amazing … I also bought a chocolate cake it was so delicious. When I pass by this Bakery I always have to stop and stock up on my Pretzel Rolls.

I love Glendale Bakery. Sure it’s not the place to go when you are in a rush, but the staff is just amazing. I really LOVE LOVE LOVE their sandwiches — if I want something extra than what’s listed, or to exchange one thing for another, it is never a problem, on top of it they are delicious! I actually like the slow pace, the smiles, the small talk. I always get some cookies to go to, as well as the mini cakes on special occasions. Really like this place and a certain charm it has.

people who work there might be on a cranky side but this is not my point… food is decent but i cant eat it because the staff sneezes in their hand and than picks up my bagel. They also wear gloves but pick up money with the same hand and… grab my bagel… gross. i tipped and throw my breakfast to the garbage. for gods sake… wake up people!

They have an awesome red velvet mini cake but the oreo mini cake was ok and a bit dry. I would go back to get the red velvet.

Huge props to this place! The girls behind the counter were so sweet; they paid for a blind man’s meal! Shoutout to Rosie (sp?)!
I came here after work yesterday to get iced coffee. Only one table was occupied. $ 2.95 for a large. Coffee was strong enough but I’ll remember to ask for more sugar next time. The cookies and mini cakes looked really good too. There are tables for two along the wall when you walk in and bigger tables near the back.

Omg service was slow when I stopped in the other day. They did have a long line but I think I waited 20 minutes to get my Irish soda bread (it was good FYI) didn’t try anything else but must be good if line was long. Will have to try more goodies next time.

Have gone in a few times and the staff is super sweet & friendly, their goodies are good and the iced coffee/Dulce de Leche is amazing! They arent the only bakery in the neighborhood but definitely our 1^st choice!

After being almost decapitated by their absurdly low awning, I decided to forgive them and grab a $ 2.25 linzer tart. They must not sell many because A. the shelf was full on a Saturday afternoon B. they had to check the price on the wall C. it was awful.

A little quick explanation into the 3 stars.
5 Stars for being an awesome mom & pop shop where everyone knows the owners.
5 Stars for bright smiles and kind customer service.
4 Stars for pretty good quality bagels (not sure if they bake it themselves) They are crispy, airy, sweet and chewy.
4 Stars for great Iced coffee
3 Stars for the lack of cream cheese on them (maybe that’s a good thing)
2 Stars for the glacier pace they serve patrons. If you’re in a rush to catch a bus or if you’re already late for work, you should think twice about coming here. They sorta move like snails. It took about 15 min from start to finish. Maybe a bad day, but they need to change the production back there. Two dedicated cooks, 2 servers and 1 cashier. Right now, everyone does… well everything.

This is a solid, old school, neighborhood bakery. Do yourself a favor and go here over the DD across the street.
Nice breakfast, don’t count on getting a table in here. Grab your food on the way to work, egg sandwich and pastry for a late snack.

They have Irish soda bread during St. Patty’s, and it is delish! Donuts are made fresh daily here, too! This bakery has been around forever and is basically a neighborhood fixture. I don’t live in the area, but I used to go to school in Maspeth, and this place pre-dates my time there. They are extremely friendly here and the baked goods are impressively fresh & tasty!

I’ve been going here my entire life. This Bake Shop has super inexpensive delicious baked goods, cakes, cupcakes, donuts, bagels, as well as a full line of Boar’s Head cold cuts. I grew up eating egg sandwiches daily from there. They also have coffees and iced coffee drinks. Go in and give them a try.
They also have seating if you want to hang out and read a newspaper. You’ll find some old timer Maspethians there enjoying a cup of coffee and a roll most of the time.

WHATS GREAT:
SERVICE– the counter girls are super nice, they attend to you from the start to the finish of your order– ie they make your sandwich, pour your coffee, pack it up and check you out.
THE FOOD– as each order gets such personal attention, the food is always fresh and yummy– great breakfast sandwichs and AMAZING ICED COFFEE.
CUPCAKES– they have the best selection of cupcakes I have found in Maspeth so far.
Whats So So:
This was a hard one, the service can be a bit slow (for crazy-rushed-for-no-reason New Yorkers like myself) but it is because they make every order from scratch (im talking cutting the meat for your sandwich to order!) and the food tastes great because of it, so its not really a down side.

Maybe it’s because I grew up in the neighborhood, but Glendale Bakery has a special place in my heart. Firstly, their pretzel rolls are the best. Perfectly crispy and salty, while nice and soft on the inside. Their regular rolls are delicious too. They don’t make ‘em like that out here on Staten Island. Their breakfast sandwiches are always spot on. Probably because of the rolls. Honestly, I don’t know what it is about those rolls, but trust me– they are good. And of course, I have to shout out their chocolate cream pie, which makes an appearance at every family gathering. It’s not a holiday without a chocolate cream pie from Glendale.

Wow! I am impressed! Bought two cakes because the price was so low. $ 14. for a cake that would cost $ 18 at bakeries in Brooklyn and Queens.
And fresh! Have not found cakes in any bakery fresher than these cakes. I think this place sells a lot of cakes and the cakes for sale are not on the shelf very long.
This should be a top choice for anyone looking for a good Italian bakery.

Glendale makes solid breakfast sandwiches in the area! Like others said they still have the 70’s décor with wood paneling but something about that is what i like. All of the girls/ladies are very nice! Seriously there is a sign behind the register that says «Customers come first. Everything else can wait». For that service alone– they deserve 4 stars! If only every place was like this! Anyhoo this is the low down. Coffee is good but not strong. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the garlic, swiss roll that they started making not that long ago. Oh my god seriously I’ve never had a roll that I loved as much as this one! Get it for any type of sandwhich or alone! Lastly, the pretzel rolls with (cream cheese) is off the hook. I’ve had various pastries and nothing has ever been bad.
