Some of the best Chinese food I ever had! Best boneless ribs, good soup, loved the dumplings with peanut sauce too. I will definitely be back!

If you want easy, straightforward, and delicious Chinese food this is a great option. They have really good sesame chicken, fried rice, Lo mein, and the fried wontons in peanut sauce is awesome. Great for the basics.

The fam said they had found their new Chinese place. I wanted to give it a try. I got the sesame chicken with pork fried rice. I wasn’t crazy about the gigantic chunks of chicken or the sauce, but the rice had big chunks of pork and bean sprouts and was the greatest I’ve ever had. Owner is rude. Said hello and he looked at me like he was having a bad day and didn’t say hello back. Guy looks awful. Maybe it’s because he can’t find parking, which is atrocious here. Try the fried avocados, even though they are overpriced like everything else in this place.

Not really Chinese food This place isn’t bad. They have excellent soups, the rice is good, but otherwise the food just doesn’t taste authentic to me. For example the sesame or general tso’s chicken isn’t crispy, basically tastes like BBQ sauce, and the chunks of chicken are too big. They should be smaller, crispy, and the sauce should taste Asian. I’ve tried this place a few times and always get mixed reviews from the people I order with. You might like it but it’s not for me.

Had been going to the same Chinese takeout for years so was excited to try someplace new. I wanted to try a variety of dishes so when my family and friends came over it was the perfect opportunity. We ordered at least 10 entrees and each one was divinely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and of high quality everyone gave chow rave reviews. Definitely will be my go to Chinese takeout place!!!

Ordered takeout from here a few times and it’s been very good! The Singapore noodles are amazing with full pieces of pork in them(not the usual little red tinted strands) soo good!

I am giving this place 4 Stars just for their Cold Noodle with Sesame Sauce. It’s been over 20 years that I’ve tasted this made the way that I love it. Yes — I know it’s made with peanut butter — but I love the pickled vegetables that they put on top. I only wish they didn’t shred it so finely. But it does make this dish perfect. It tastes very similar to a now closed Chinese restaurant that I used to order from all the time. The only other thing I’ve ordered from here was the General Tso chicken, which was good. The vegetable roll was little, crunchy and dry. If you order a Combo, it comes with an egg roll and pork fried rice. If you don’t eat pork, be prepared to pay an upcharge to sub a tiny vegetable roll and vegetable fried rice. I think this place will do very well, and I am excited to try more dishes,(if I can only tear myself away from that Cold Noodle!)

Just had mushroom egg foo young. Sauce is nice and thick but too much salt. I asked for extra, gravy and they did for sure with overload. Extra in the plate and an additional container that they charged me 99 cents for It didn’t need it and shouldn’t have charged either. Disappointed

Tried at the recommendation of my brother-in-law. Have been looking all over the local areas for good old fashion Cantanese Chow Mein with no success. Finally found it at Chow’s Superb. Simple dish but delicious. The only improvement I would suggest is a better crispy fried noodle instead of the commercial bagged type that came with the order.

Last time getting delivery from here. They put two sauces in top of each other and they melted right thru each other. It leaked all over the bag and the sauce wasn’t edible because of the plastic shards in it. It’s unfortunate because the food is excellent.

I’ve been searching for good Chinese food since moving to the area. After reading the reviews I was hopeful I had finally found it. Unfortunately I didn’t. Negatives Lo mein noodles were over cooked and soft. Sweet and sour Chicken was not crispy. Spare ribs were all grizzle very little meat. Positives Very nice staff Chicken and broccoli was decent, chicken was good quality. Everyone is entitled to a bad day and I’m hoping I went there on a bad day so I’ll give it another try and update the review accordingly.

I went to Chow’s with high hopes because of all the great reviews. The Owners and staff were very friendly but the food was very disappointing. We ordered 2 soups which were good as was the fried rice. The Pan Fried Wontons with Peanut Sauce and Egg Rolls looked great but were uneventful. But the biggest disappointment was the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce which was very watery, It was also so salty that it was inedible. This was my first trip there so I am hoping that they had an off night. But with so many other good Chinese Restaurants in the area it is doubtful that I would go back here.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! Let me start by saying that I don’t normally write too many reviews. I either have to love the place or really dislike it before I sit down and take the time to do it. That being said, I felt compelled to write something about Chow’s, because, after having given up on pretty much every place in the neighborhood, thanks to them, I am so happy to finally be able to order Chinese food again! As far as I’m concerned, this is by far the BEST Chinese take-out in Massapequa. Since I first discovered the place after stopping to get a coffee at the Dunkin Donuts next door, we’ve ordered from them several times, and, apart from one disappointing dish(the shrimp lo-mein which, according to my husband, tasted a bit«off» and had only a few very tiny shrimps) the food was way better than anything else we’ve ordered in quite awhile. Ordered once from one of the owners(John) and the other times from his son. Both, might I add, who I had not trouble communicating my orders to, and, who were more than happy to answer any of the questions I had. Met the other owner today while picking up my order of roast pork fried rice WITHOUT the pork. While my husband thinks their pork(or «meat» as written on the menu) fried rice is one of the BEST he’s ever had,(picked up an order for him too!), I’ve never been a fan of those pork pieces which I have always had to «pick out». (For the record, for those of you like my husband, who likes the pork pieces, you won’t be disappointed. Their pork pieces are huge!) Unlike other places, he had no problem accommodating my request, and, despite my husband’s insistence that it would«probably taste very bland» without the pork, it was absolutely delicious and very flavorful nonetheless! The owner was friendly, and, after joking with me about my «odd» order, told me that it was no problem making it the way I wanted it, and, in the future, whenever possible, they would be glad to make any changes to any of the items on the menu. Apart from their fried rice, do yourself a favor and try their pork fried dumplings which are also pretty AMAZING! Not greasy or dense like some other places, but, perfectly fried and very tasty too. I am hooked on them and can finish an order just by myself! And, while the only other item I had was their beef with pepper and onions, it too was cooked perfectly. Best part was the fact that the meat was NOT«slimy» like some other pepper steaks I’ve tasted. It just tasted and«looked» like real meat! No need to wonder if I would recommend this place. Of course, everything is a matter of taste, so, I can only speak for myself when I say that I have become a fan and will continue to order from them as long as they are in business. Which, I hope, will be for a LONG time to come! Almost forgot… don’t know about what another reviewer spoke about in regards to their disappointing delivery service… all I can say is that EVERY time we ordered from them and asked for delivery, the food was at our house in record time!(and we don’t live around the corner from them either!!!)

Dropped by this place today and ordered a General’s Chicken combo. The pork fried rice reminded of what you got thirty plus years ago. Too many Chinese places give pork that is small chunks of fat or meat that is disgusting. While the General’s was very good it was not special but it was very tastey. Never got to the egg roll but good egg rolls for the most part have become a thing of the past — so I cannot pass judgement. Long Island is awash in average and sub-par Chinese take out joints. I really need to try few more dishes pass a solid judgement. I was once a real fan of Chinese food but strayed away. For the must part I have tried almost every item on most Chinese menus, this is with chow. BUT not every place makes every dish the same. I think I am going to have visit Chow a few times before I render a solid opinion. I got my eye on the salt & pepper shrimp and everyone raves about the bacon and egg fried rice. In conclusion, place seems better than most and I will visit a few times to provide comprehensive opinion/review. Also the menu is well priced which I think is an important factor. Too much service and high prices make this«average Joe» uncomfortable however a great meal makes me comfortable even with lots service upscale price. For now I recommend trying this restaurant. There will be much more to this review since I am off to a good start with big menu Do not plan to eat here seating is in short supply. This a take out/delivery joint After another visit I have more to report. I ordered the Salt & Pepper shrimp and It was real good. Don’t let the name throw you. InI tradational Chinese restaurants salt & pepper squid is common dish. I have to say Chow put a great American/Chinese spin with perfectly lightly fried shrimp where traditional would have cook the shrimp in the shell. Fancy foodies will tell how much the Chinese is better but this American likes Chow’s interpretation. Wonton soup is good better than most but the boneless rib combo turned to be a pile fat but this is risk you take when you order this dish. However, in all fairness it was ribs. Lots places give rib tips or roast pork. I just hit the wrong time because other times boneless ribs looked good. I will be back for another visit and still stand by my opinion that this a great take out joint I have been here at least once a week if not more since my first visit at tried wide verity of dishes. Most winners one two I would not order again. Over all it’s relatively consistent and they try hard and pretty good and priced fair. I say if you have never been here give it try. Lunch is bargin

Ordered to go from here twice. Figured to give a second chance after the first tome… Neither time we were too happy with most of the food. The shrimp were tiny, the lomein didn’t taste good, the dumplings were nothing special, but the bacon fried rice was good and the chicken wings were good… Yes chicken wings. I have never been inside this place but just from the food it dosnt seem like a chinese food place. I would order the wings again though.

The owner of the restaurant contacted me and apologized. He seems to care about his business. I didn’t want a total knock on them since it probably won’t be something to happen again, to be continued!

Best Chinese in massapequa without a doubt Fried rice is amazing they were a little busy but surprisingly it was a short wait for the pick up For a bunch of white guys they sure know how to make Chinese food I wouldn’t recommend the sesame beef but the egg fu young was amazing I will without a doubt be ordering from here again

What to say about chow– very small and clean and white guys cooking American style Chinese. At first I was confused but it being a American style Chinese place it actually works. I ordered through the app and was very easy and quick with updates when to pick up food. I ordered boneless ribs with white rice and sesame noodles. I must say prob the best boneless ribs I ever had and portions were great. The sesame noodles were bland but not bad but prob won’t order them again.

** raising to 4, as my mother keeps going here and finally convinced me there were some things I liked. like. egg foo young with dark salty sweet not quite gravy… and ever changing wonton soup. is been different 4 times! color of broth to middle of wonton. chefs likely. ok so all seems ok here. just heavy on the red dye/ribs not for me. Initial review: Chow Take Out is a newly opened Chinese Take out restaurant tucked back in the CVS shopping center right next to popular Pizza place Leonardo’s. While picking up dinner next door, I stopped in to try a few things at Chow. The proprietors aren’t Asian and are locals, but they are pros have/had other stores in Ozone Pk. Howard Beach etc. The place was staffed up for business had at least 6 or 7 people working. Food reminded me more of the Chinese you might get in a touristy place in the city. Yellow wonton soup with extra ginger flavor. It had customers already and looks like off to a great start.
