Stopped by here on the way home. We had some great ice cream there and got some lobster rolls and quahog chowder for the long ride home. The food we took home survived the ride back to nyc. Was also nice to see some old model a and t fords in the parking lot. Those were some beautiful cars.

Not your run of the mill, clam/ice cream shack. This place takes care with how they treat their food and customers. Everything made fresh and you can tell. The lobster roll here is excellent. It’s fresh, very well priced at $ 12 and delicious. The bun was lightly toasted with butter on the skillet as it should be. They serve the lobster cold, with only just enough mayo to keep it together… not too sloppy. This meal comes with fries and cole slaw. If I left with one impression of this place — everything is made fresh and they know how to treat seafood with respect when frying it. Everything was very minimally battered and not overly fried or oily. It left the seafood(clams and french fries) hot, toasty and crisp — everything fried food ought to be. In general the food here is all an excellent value and the service is very attentive and polite. Now for the sweet stuff — the ice cream like the rest of the food is fresh and you can notice the difference. Flavors include the usual suspects plus a few extras to keep you intrigued… moosetracks, to blackberry, to salted caramel, mint chocolate chip, coffee etc. They do it all well, and it’s fairly priced so it’s worth a double scoop. The atmosphere inside is your typical clam shack interior. Nothing fancy. Checkered linoleum floors, plastic chairs, ketchup on the table etc. As with any clam shack type place, the food is the deciding factor and Oxford Creamery is certainly worth your time if you’re in the Marion/on the way to the cape area.

This place has it all. Any kind of fried food you want. And it is all good. The lines inside and out attest to that. Great ice cream too and lots of favors. Nice staff who work really hard. Great huge picnic area across the parking lot with trees for shade and climbing if you are a restless kid. Big parking lot that can be confusing as there are no lines to show you where or how to park. Easy access. Fun place.

They have the best ice cream and so many flavors to choice from. I have been going here since I was little. But I wish they sold there tie-die t-shirts I want one so bad.

The best roadside shack you will ever find if you’re looking to treat yourself to fried seafood and yummy ice cream. As with other eateries in Mattapoisett, the seafood inc CLAMS is really fresh. Very hard working and professional staff. Great place to take the family after a day at the beach.

Tried Oxford for the first time last week. We ordered a small side of clams for 17.00 and what we received, while very good, was a tiny tray of clams. Not a good value. We have no other experience here but hope the other menu items give more food for the money.

So I am not sure why this place gets rave reviews. Maybe I am too picky when it comes to seafood. If I am going to pay $ 15 for clams and fries i would hope the fries are fresh not frozen from a bag. The clams were okay but they def had more bits of just bread coating and minimal clams. The ice cream is just from Richardson’s so if i wanted ice cream from Richardson’s id just drive there.

Delicious lobster roll for reasonable price. Ice cream from local Richardson’s farm. Conveniently located in Mattapoisett. Recommend.

Came into Oxford a couple of times this summer. Quintessential New England Creamery with comfort(sea)food and plenty of outdoor seating. Great spot to grab a Lobster Roll and some ice cream. Given the Crab Roll is the same price as the Lobster Roll, go with the Lobster Roll. Fried clams were ok.

Each visit to the Cape must include a stop at Oxford Creamery for the lobster rolls. Simply put: best deal for the best taste. Some may argue that it’s a modest serving of lobster(there are literally hundreds of other places on the Cape to get a lobster roll) BUT, the lobster here is consistently fresh, not overwhelmed with mayonnaise, and the toasted bun, fresh. To give some history: my aunt, a tried and true Cape Codder, would only get rolls from here(if she weren’t making them at home in her kitchen!) Cons: this place is caught between a rock and a hard place. I wouldn’t mind if they stayed old school, but while I was enjoying my roll this summer, we literally watched a worker take down a black and white picture of the creamery from its earliest days, and replace it with a sign advertising their new gluten-free or dairy-free ice cream. That simple act was like a metaphor for what is sadly, happening to a lot of local eateries on the Cape.(See review for Persys Place). No matter, I’ll still come back and back, and back.

I grew up in town so I’m biased but the peppermint stick ice cream always hits the spot. Grab a cone and then head to Ned’s Point for a beautiful spot to sit and enjoy.

I get the fried shrimp plate every single time. Full of empty calories? Absolutely! Feel guilty about it? Absolutely not! The inside area is extremely small and gets crowded fast, I recommend using this place on more of a to-go basis, or eating outside at a picnic table. Their ice cream is also really good.

Yum!!! After the PERFECT long 89 degree beach day, we brought a large pack of wild starving kids here for dinner. The line was long but the staff were really efficient, fast and friendly. The kids all loved their burgers and the grownups raved about their seafood(fish and chips, fried clams and lobster rolls). There was a large park-like picnic area with plenty of room for everyone and no pressure to keep the kids quiet and still(impossible). After dinner we got ice cream. OMG the ice cream… so so so good! It’s official: coffee Oreo is my 2014 obsession and Oxford Creamery’s is the best so far. I loooove this place :)

My husband and I stopped in as we were driving through Mattapoisett on our way home. We trusted Unilocal to find us a good spot for ice cream and though it wasn’t a total disappointment I wasn’t thoroughly impressed. The place was packed, which is never a problem and thought it was a sure sign that we found a good place. We jumped into the line for outside window pick up. The line was very long– again no biggie it was a gorgeous evening. As we made our way toward the front of the line we started looking for a sign or list of flavors, toppings, cone types– something to go by! Nothing. Not a sign or a pamphlet… Nothing. Ok no biggie. We kept it simple to avoid holding up the line asking about their flavors. The young girl at the window seemed less than enthused about her job and robotically took our orders. Can’t say I could truly blame her– it was a madhouse. When we were given our change I looked for a tip cup to thank her but didn’t see one. I asked«Do you have a tip cup?» and she totally ignored it. Hmmmmmm… We got maple walnut and coffee ice cream and they were ok. Nothing amazing. But I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

My favorite spot for fried seafood and Lobster rolls. Everything I have ordered here has been excellent. Their lobster rolls are reasonably priced and tasty. Their fried clams and scallops are extremely fresh. Ice cream is also good. My only complaint is the way they manage the ice cream window. I was patiently waiting online and when the server was ready to take an order she said, «Anyone ready to order?» causing people who had just arrived to cut in line. I was a bit annoyed and told the server I had been waiting in line. While waiting for my ice cream I saw people try to cut in line when the server asked the same question. They don’t even have a menu at the window so I would think people know what they want when they get in line.

While driving on Hwy 6 we came across this little jewel. The main restaurant was closed for the season but we saw they had a food truck, we stopped and were served by two very kind people. Ordered two lobster rolls with cole slaw and fries! Loved, loved loved it. Best Lobster roll of our New England Trip, at $ 11.95, it’s the best priced and tastiest meal we had in MA. They have a few picnic tables out front, or it was suggested to dine at a little park on the water just down the street we chose the latter. Just was perfect. Highly recommended.
