If I could offer ratings on different facets of this business I’d be able to provide a much better picture than just an overall option. As I cannot, let me explain why I give this practice 3 stars: As far as the office staff, Dr. Brofsky himself and the general«dental procedure» experience goes, I’d rate 5 stars. They are nice to engage in conversation with, they are able to make appointments quickly, they keep patients for as long as they say they will and they answer any questions you may have before, during and after your procedure. I would give a much lower rating to things like cost, or maybe better put, fully explaining cost up front. When we made the appointment the staff was great about explaining exactly what my out of pocket would be(my portion after insurance). What they failed to mention was that the root canals themselves were going to use my entire annual allotment of benefits, leaving us with none to cover the required post-procedure crowns, or the extractions they knew were also scheduled. This was after numerous conversations during the evaluation regarding our finances being low and needing to do whatever was going to cost the least. I was incredibly upset to learn we had no benefit left when I called the general dentist to schedule the crowns. This was then made worse when I called to cancel the extraction appointment and was told that Dr. Brofsky’s office had actually called to notify them that our benefit was gone the day of the root canals(yet no one thought to mention this to us, either that day or when we were discussing cost). Yes, it is ultimately our job, as the policy holder, to know what our benefits are, but, if you are anything like me, it might as well be in another language when you try to decipher it on your own. If a practice is able to tell you what your benefits will and will not cover, what your portion is, etc. it’d be easy to add«but after this you won’t have any benefit left to cover the rest of the work you need done.» Despite us mentioning our financial strain, and the fact that we could wait for the root canals(because there was no pain) if it was going to cause us more, the procedures were scheduled and only the actual«out of pocket» was ever mentioned. This left us feeling that making their fees was the primary concern and thus getting us scheduled before the extractions(which were more urgently needed) ensured they are who got the money. We are now in a position of having to come up with an outrageous amount of money to cover the crowns and extractions at 100% when the root canals/crowns could have easily waited.

I had a fabulous experience here today! My dentist referred me to this place for a root canal(and like Chad, I was wondering what the hell is an endodontist??) The office is very bright, clean, modern with new magazines – A++. I kinda of wanted to wait a little longer so I could get through the latest Us Weekly and Star issues. But then root canal time came… and they couldn’t have been friendlier. I told them how scared I was and they assured me that everything would be alright and it would be a quick. painless process. I’ve never had a root canal before and after hearing about root canals gone wrong and how horrible they are to go through(ok and possibly from watching Little Shop of Horrors too much as a kid and thinking dentists are out there to hurt me) was a bit apprehensive. They numbed me up, let me know that if I felt any pain just to raise my hand and started to drill. And you know what? it wasn’t bad at all! Soon, they were finished and I was like«Huh, that’s it? Really, that’s it?» They explained the post-procedure care in depth and Dr. Brofsky even let me know about an Italian restaurant or two to try that were unknown to me. Working on my grill and talking restaurants? Hell yes! When can I get my next root canal?

I think they keep making up words for doctors. Who ever heard of an «endodontist» when they were growing up? You just had a «doctor» and a «dentist»? But I digress. When one of our sons needed to have a root canal, they sent us to the endodontist, and while I have no idea if there are many of them in the area, this is where we ended up.(We have since found out that there is at least one other, since we have now been there too!) The office is pretty nice — I would imagine it’s because of the prices. Root canals aren’t cheap. The good thing is that rather than being in some dungeon while they dig at your teeth they let you look out a nice big window into the parking lot. Unfortunately that means that people could look at you too — might be nice if they changed that. Anyway, the staff was very nice, and they took care of things very quickly, it all seems to be doing very well. I just hope we don’t have to see them again soon!
